Overview

Blissful Block is custom track created by Strobenz. It is his first major release after Super Sky Courtyard in 2015. The track is set at dawn in a city superblock surrounded by mountains and buildings, and is the spiritual successor of Punch City 2 and District 65, featuring elements reminiscent of both of them. Racers have to follow a different route each lap, as is seen in Tour tracks from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The track features a couple of custom objects, including firetruck ramps and canoes on which the player can trick. There are also cars created from scratch by the author, which use a modified car texture from Mario Kart 8. Additionally, several textures were either created or retouched by AI.

The track has support for several LE-CODE features, including modified versions of ObjFlow.bin and GeoHitTableKart.bin for optimization and gameplay-changing purposes. Thus, LE-CODE distribution creators should follow the instructions from the LE-CODE Distribution FAQ to properly extract the files from the SZS file. Concretely, such modifications and features are as follows:

  • Car objects (car_body) and arrow walls (WLwallGC) now support AREAs 8 and 9 to allow them to be disabled when not in view.
  • Cars inside the housing area (kart_truck) do not act as walls when hit by players on Mega Mushroom.

Note that distributions that do not use LE-CODE will not be able to see these modifications, but the track will still be fully playable.
