Overview

The Backrooms is a custom track created by SpartaYoshi and Lovelifeandtpose024. It is inspired by the concept of liminal space, as well as the Backrooms creepypasta of the same name that has been derived from the idea of weird spatial liminality, with references for the model also based on Kane Pixels' rendition of the creepypasta. The track is based on a Garry's Mod workshop map made by egglord, which can be found here. The model for the original map has been fully optimized and adapted to a playable custom track.

Versions prior to v1.0b will not work on console, due to having textures or models that have not been downscaled or optimized enough to work on a real console. They are available to test on emulator, and are available to download for archival purposes.

This custom track also intentionally features no minimap, which further makes it more confusing to drive, as is its intended nature for the experience. An alternative version with a minimap is also available.
