Overview
Heart of China is Wingcapman's first custom track. It was not originally designed as a race track, so it is quite similar to ports of other non-race track levels in that it does not have a clearly defined layout. This track is based on a story written by the author. Normally, there is not a race path for this area, but he decided to make a Mario Kart Wii race-compatible track of it.
Ever since this track was showcased and eventually published, many players and people outside of the community were very confused about the connection between the track's name and the language that is being used inside the track's design. The author had to jump in to explain why the name seems to show that it is located in China, but the text inside its design is Japanese:
Click to reveal the reason
- Originally the name of this area is Heart of Khan, Khan is an Eastern dragon (specifically a Chinese dragon) who was going to leave his country (China) with his parents because of some war between those two countries (Khan being the child at the time).
- Eventually his parents and his ideas shared they decided to live in this other country to find peace, which is why the text is written in Japanese; to accept the country and want to show that his country does have some good and fun ideas, and showing that Khan and his parents don't want to cause any trouble; hence why this whole area feels like an outdoor recreation center (it has a restaurant, a swimming pool, a gym, and the list goes on).
- Those characters accepted to be in another country and want to adapt; they learned Japanese and wanted to entertain everyone and want to give everyone a good time.
- The reason why I didn't change this in this dreadful custom track is because most people outside Asia still don't see the difference due similarities to the buildings. And if they didn't observe the language; the way how everything's built up, I chose just leaving it at that. So again, there's a whole backstory behind this whole track and I explained it several times while people kept thinking '>Heart of China > Japanese text' for the ones who do know the difference.
- This custom Mario Kart Wii track or location as a whole was not meant to be any form of attack towards anyone or any culture. I am sorry for the confusion. This detail had to be thrown in the track's model.
- While I did explain this to several people in all those years, what I should have done is writing this specific detail on Custom Mario Kart Wiiki. - Wingcapman 16:00, December 21 2021 (UTC)

The author's final words for this custom track
- After 7 long years of experiencing the world of 3D modelling and experimenting with it, my very first custom Mario Kart Wii track is finally done. Aside from the small details that are a bit questionable, I'll say it's finished. Eventually stuff became too much for me and I needed to ask some help to finish this project, and now that it's finally done, this project can now rest in peace... On my end at least. For everyone who's currently reading this message, thanks for reading and thanks for playing. If you have an idea to change stuff around, feel free to share the ideas! I can't wait to see what everyone has in mind when it comes to modifications. And the same goes for ideas for stuff like Mission mode, or even battle. Sharing is caring! - Wingcapman 19:30, November 10 2019 (UTC)

Trivia
- The track is compatible with Battle Mode, though the CPUs follow VS race routes.
- Though the track is meant to be raced on, many consider it to be more of an exploring track with all its secrets and open areas as shown here.
