Overview
The Very First Christmas: Bounce Interpolation is Justin's ninth custom track. The track is based on the Bounce trilogy from the Custom Track Jam series of competitions aiming to create innovative races using a plethora of bouncing objects sequentially similar to Nintendo's GCN Peach Beach Mushrooms Competition. The track acts as a precursor to the original series, with a theme celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and what became of Christmas from then onwards. This both represents the birth of a traditional celebration in a festive sense and in the sense of a birthing to the modern Bounce series due to the theme of the jam it participated in rehashing the theme used just prior of the first Bounce's creation. The author wanted to redefine the way that Mario Kart Wii was played like no other track in the past had done before. If the racer falls off the bounce section, they must complete the rest of the race in heavy offroad. In races against other players, the primary objective and meta of the course changes from being the fastest finisher to staying on the mushrooms for the longest amount of time and knocking other racers off no matter what it takes. This could create a countdown-like effect in normal races where players will want to wait for an item box rather than try and complete the course as fast as possible as a means to win the race and play it safer. Racers can only obtain one item set for each lap and they must also navigate around the six goombas at the end after each lap to successfully complete the course. The reasoning for the author wanting to create another bounce track for the Custom Track Jam competitions was because he believed there was a lot of missed potential when it came to the original Bounce series and he wanted to design a modern take on the idea that would work in online rooms with 12 players. Many of the bounce tracks prior had issues like not all players spawning on the mushrooms and not being able to complete the course without falling off, making them unsuitable for online play. This course, however, was designed for the online player and to create the most entertaining and exciting Mario Kart Wii races that the world has ever seen. It was created for the 16th edition of BillyNoodles's Custom Track Jam, where it placed fifth.
