Special Slots
Most tracks will run on all Slots, with exceptions of Slots 4.2, 6.1, and 6.2 (see table above). Additionally, some tracks will only run at Slots 3.1 and 7.1. Here are the rules for these Special Slots:
- A track can only run on Slot 4.2 if it has at least one truck, car, or bomb car and has the special MDL0 from the original track containing 'polygon11' and 'polygon60'. Such tracks will run on the other Slots.
- To enable a track for Slot 6.1, just insert the sub file ice.brres.
- If the track contains KCL flag 0x70 (fall down with sherbet effect), sub file ice.brres is needed and the track will only run at Slot 6.1. It will freeze on all other Slots, if the KCL flag 0x70 becomes active.
- Tracks using the Object HeyhoShipGBA or HeyhoBallGBA will only run at Slot 6.2.
- If a track should run at Slot 6.2, it must use Object HeyhoShipGBA including a valid route.
- Tracks using the Object 0x72 (sunDS) or 0x144 (pylon01) will only run at Slots 3.1 and 7.1.
- Some tracks using object poihana (the Cataquack that flings racers into the air), cannot run on Slot 5.1 (Peach Beach). Curiously, poihana is used on Peach Beach by Nintendo.
- All other Slots are different in sound and other effects.
