Lumas are a species of star-like creatures from the Mario series, first appearing in Super Mario Galaxy.^[1] The most common appearance, a yellow Luma, was ported to Mario Kart Wii by Dylanmario, originally over Baby Peach.

The author created this character because he started rereading the Rosalina Storybook in Super Mario Galaxy during the creation process.
