Overview

This article describes the /button directory of MenuSingle.szs.

Changing both values to 1 fixes this visual error.

common_w129_movie_button_single_top.brlyt Used for MenuSingle.szs's main menu. It contains the texture panes and text pane used for the buttons. It also contains placement panes used for the video that's being played inside the buttons which is split in 4 parts in order to make the transparency effect working properly. Interestingly enough, the very last pane used for the video in the background is completely blank once the transparency effect has been removed.
cup_icon_64x64_common.brlyt This file is mainly used for just a collection of all the race course cup icons.
machine_64x64_common.brlyt A whole collection of usable vehicles are in this file which are used for the vehicle selection screen.
open_icon_rule.brlyt Used for for the rule settings icon, which interestingly enough is used for both VS Race and Battle. They also share the same textures and text.
stage_icon_common.brlyt This file contains a collection of all the battle cup icons.

ctrl

This folder contains BRCTR files that are used for the selectable options (such as buttons and icons).

Name Description
Back.brctr Used for the Back button that appears in the bottom-left corner. Its widescreen variant is affected so it uses different coordinates compared to the 4:3 variant.
BattleCupSelectCup.brctr This file contain the coordinates for the Battle Stage cups. Only the first two buttons are being used, leaving the extra buttons unused. Also note that changing the coordinates and scale from these requires BattleStageSelectCup.brctr located in control to be changed too, as this one only changes the button positions and not the ones on the transition (when you choose a button, the button positions are different).
BattleSelect.brctr Used for the options for the Balloon Battle and Coin Runners buttons whenever the player needs to choose a battle mode.
BattleSetting.brctr Only used for the Battle Rule Settings's OK button.
BattleStageSelectStage.brctr All the battle stage selection buttons are located here.
CharacterSelect2_0.brctr A new, clean savefile of Mario Kart Wii with no extra characters unlocked originally gives you 2 columns of characters: 2 light-weight characters, 2 medium-weight characters and 2 heavy-weight characters in vertical order. This file specifically is only for the light-weight characters!

This file specifically is only for the medium-weight characters!

ClassSelect.brctr In Grand Prix mode, you start with 50cc, 100cc and 150cc if you haven't unlocked Mirror mode yet; only 3 buttons are used, the fourth button goes unused.
ClassSelect2.brctr Works like ClassicSelect.brctr but this one is used once Mirror mode is unlocked.
CourseSelectCourse.brctr The four tracks that are included in cups are located here. Note that if you use CT-CODE, pressing +/Start with tracks next to each other instead of having them form a column of tracks prevents the randomizer from jumping to another track (so if the randomizer chooses track 2 from left to right instead of from top to bottom, it'll stay on track 2). This is due how the randomizer only uses the Up and Down input after it chose a cup.
CupSelectCup.brctr Used for the Cup Selection screen, which contains all the cup placements. Note that CT-CODE and LE_CODE modified the Leaf Cup and Lightning Cup which are placed to the sides, functioning as arrow buttons instead.

DriftHelp.brctr Used for the Drift Type's help button that's located in the top-right corner of the screen.
EventExplanationButton.brctr Contains two buttons which both are just for scrolling through message windows, one of them is just the (A) button. This one might be used for tournaments when loading the game via the Mario Kart Channel.
GhostBattleExplanationButton.brctr Contains two buttons which both are just for scrolling through message windows, one of them is just the (A) button. Probably also used for Mario Kart Channel's data but for Ghost races instead.
GlobePadEasy.brctr A global variant for the drift-type buttons which might get used whenever the player loads the game from the Mario Kart Channel.

MachineSelect1_6.brctr Used for Grand Prix whenever the player has unlocked all vehicles but is forced to choose either karts or bikes.
MachineSelect2_3.brctr Vehicle button alignment that shows 2 columns with karts on the left and bikes on the right. This file is used to show 3 karts and 3 bikes.
MachineSelect2_4.brctr Vehicle button alignment that shows 2 columns with karts on the left and bikes on the right. This file is used to show 4 karts and 4 bikes.

MachineSelectBattleSingle.brctr This one is a simplified vehicle selection version that's being used for battle mode's vehicle selection screen, only showing the Standard Kart and the Standard Bike.

MissionInstruction.brctr Used for Mission mode's stage instruction screen. This file only reads data for the OK button and the Tutorial button.
MissionLevelSelectLevel.brctr Used for Mission mode's Level (world) selection screen, which contains the placements for the selectable Level buttons.
MissionStageSelectStage.brctr Used for Mission mode's Stage selection screen, which contains the placements for the selectable Stage buttons.

PadEasy.brctr Buttons for Manual (ButtonNormal), Automatic (ButtonEasy) and a 1 drift type-only button (ButtonPadMR) are located here. ButtonPadMR is used for Mission mode where the mission only accepts one drift-type.
RuleSetting.brctr The Rules Settings button for both Race and Battle are located here. Sadly only as one button option, so Race and Battle share the same position for this one.
SingleTop.brctr All the mode buttons are located here, included the unused Mission mode. While Mission mode is originally impossible to choose, it is possible to modify the button as there are ways to make the button load.
TeamConfirmOK.brctr Whenever you set up a Team match (both for versus and battle), gives you a screen with how the teams are set up. Only the OK button is located here.
TimeAttackGhostList.brctr The three buttons for Time Trials's ghost list with the options for racing against a ghost, watch the ghost's replay or do a solo round.
TimeAttackGhostListArrowLeft.brctr Used for the left arrow to scroll through the ghost data.
TimeAttackGhostListArrowRight.brctr Used for the right arrow to scroll through the ghost data.
VSSelect.brctr Similar to BattleSelect.brctr but this one is used for the VS Race selection screen instead, where the player is forced to choose between a Solo Race and a Team Race.
VSSetting.brctr Despite the name, only the confirmation button - the OK button - for the VS Rule Settings is being used.
WatchGhostConfirm.brctr Used for the Watch Replay button whenever the player gets on the Time Trials ghost data screen.
WifiMemberConfirmButton.brctr Used for the big OK button whenever the player is in an online lobby with other players.
