Dokan Course (A.K.A. Pipe Place) is an unused beta course found in the ROM of Mario Kart DS. The track was present, but unplayable without codes, in the kiosk demo; in the final version of the game it no longer loads with textures. The course was likely made to test driving physics; similar unused levels exist in many other games.
The course starts with a long straightaway, then a ramp that goes up and left. After a 270° turn, the player will enter a long and small pipe-shaped tunnel, were they can do constant fast loops in the pipe, building up speed. After the pipe, a S-shaped smooth turn follows, going right then left before going into another pipe tunnel. This one goes on a turn to the left, where the players return to the starting position. There are no obstacles or decoration on this course, only the track floating in the middle of nowhere.
The word "Dokan" means "Pipe" in Japanese. The word is also used for many pipe-related Objects in Mario Kart Wii.
