I think that it just makes the page look nicer. I know it's probably not needed and the download is directly in the main info box, but I just like how it looks. If the author wants older revisions for whatever reason be available, there is no problem. What you do is unnecessarily. If you like it that way, it doesn't mean everyone does so please stop fighting for it if others don't want it.

Just a question, why does it get removed though? I know it might be unnecessary, but I don't know why it bugs you. I don't really mind if you change it, it's just that other people have complained to me about it aswell, and I don't quite understand why. It doesn't effect the page in anyway, just adds another section to make the page look nice.
