Christmas Court File Name

What track is Christmas Court replacing? I can help with the file name. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 23:27, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

Should this be on the Wiiki?

Hi, assuming that in this distribution there are texture hacks that are not on the Wiiki (which is what Tragiic said on an edit summary), I don't think this distribution should be on the Wiiki. This is because, by the Published Works Policy, "If content not available on the Wiiki will be included in a distribution available on the Wiiki, either the track author or the distribution author must publish that content on the Wiiki, too". Since we have no idea whether the author of this distribution got the consent from the authors of the texture hacks in question, I think we should not add those texture hacks to the Wiiki, and thus we should not keep this distribution. -- Cealgair (talk|contribs) 08:45, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

We can see once JohnKart adds the tracks. I'll also check them on NoClip if nothing gets added soon. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 09:06, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
If neither the author nor the distribution creator adds them, then me or some others will add them ourselves. For example, Darky Kart Wii was on the Wiiki for years with just under half the tracks being published on there, until me and some others created the pages ourselves; this can also be observed for a few texture hack distribution pages which I have edited over the last few months.
I don't imagine this should be a huge problem as the only texture hack which I noticed (so far) is Christmas Circuit (Mario Circuit Texture), created by Ro, who I don't even believe is active anymore, this'll likely only become a problem if it turns out that there is custom tracks in here that are not on the Wiiki or if there are texture hacks from authors who have made it clear they do not want their content on the Wiiki (chances of this happening are almost 0).
TL;DR Yes, don't worry. Tragiic (talk | contribs) 09:33, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
I don't think that the policy of only not putting texture hacks on the Wiiki if the author has explicitly asked so (which I'm gonna call "### policy") is correct, given how strict some of the points in the Published Works Policy are. For example:
* You are only allowed to post freely usable content on this wiki.
* Posting content to the Wiiki grants every current and future Wiiki user the right to use this content for Distributions, to modify this content and to release updated versions of the contents while giving credit to the content creator, even when later removing said content from the Wiki.
* Custom content, once added to the Wiiki, can be included in any Distribution, even if removed from the Wiiki in the future, and the content itself may get mirrored by Wiiki users even if the original download link is deleted.
I don't think every author would necessarily agree with all of these points, even if the author in question hasn't explicitly said that they do not want their content on the Wiiki.
And finally, I don't get why the "### policy" would only apply to texture hacks and not CTs.
I think there should be a discussion about all of this involving some of the mods, because I think this is an issue that needs to be solved sooner or later.
(by the way, I think it's hilarious how in the Published Works Policy you can find all of these spellings: "wiki", "Wiki" and "Wiiki") -- Cealgair (talk|contribs) 11:16, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
