Overview

Heart of China is based on a story by Wingcapman. There isn't a race path for this area in his story, but he decided to make a Mario Kart Wii race-compatible track of it.

Heart of China is Wingcapman's first functional custom track. This track is currently BETA. It wasn't originally designed as a race course, so it's quite similar to ports of other non-race course levels in that it doesn't have a clearly defined track.

Some interesting points of this track are:

  • It's Battle-compatible.
  • The laps will take around 45 to 52 seconds on 150cc (average time). It's 3 laps too.
  • Some "Special" Itemboxes can't be spammed because they respawn later.
  • This custom track can be played backwards. The laps won't count that way (yet), but this might be an idea for a later version.

Please read the notes on this page before you're going to download it, this track has some bugs you have to know about!

The official Heart of China page is here, and the Critique page of Heart of China is here.

Notes and Bugs

- The Heart of China progress won't go any further, it'll collect dust until the author decides to work on it.

- BUG! If you're behind the big yellow building, you can drive on the slope and trick of it. However, if you use a Mushroom there, you might will be able to jump over the off-boundaries, to jump off the stage. Most of the time, you'll get respawned at the end of the RED building. The lap might not count.

- BUG! There MIGHT be a chance that the game has slowdown issues when there're two people who're using a Mega Mushroom and two other people who're using a Star.

- BUG! The track has some really bad slowdowns when you're playing with splitscreen (2 players) with CPUs enabled!

- There's a blank Opening Pan camera for VS Mode. Normally you'll get a preview about how the track looks like after choosing the track, but in this case, the camera is completely black. It has the same camera timer, only the vision is not there, it's still functional. The author wants help with making custom cameras and opening pan cameras.

- The track itself is hard to drive on. Its nearly impossible to drive a lap without any accident. Practice before you're going to really play with/against people, because you need it. Keep in mind that this track is more an artwork than an actual race track.

- In Battle Mode, you'll start in the gym. However, the starting positions are still experimental, so the placements aren't that perfect. Also, CPUs will drive against walls, and later on they're confusing, thus they'll drive in circles, suddenly turn back, or stop driving in general, until they'll respawn.

- Coin Runners is more a Challenge mode. There's just one little spot to get all the Coins. You'll get rewarded with 5 Coins instead of 1. But where is it? Only you may find it out!

- If there will be a rating system available on this page some day, use it for your own, instead of thinking that it'll be abusive on Nintendo WFC. Rate it for your own usage, for example, how it plays, the details of it etc. For critique, go here. The author won't pay attention to the Wiiki's rating though.
