Boost Pad

I want to copy and paste a boost pad from SNES Mario Circuit 3 into my model (using Sketchup), and all I get is the flickering as described. Can anyone help, because the solutions described here haven't worked. --Kingjt24 (talk) 12:52, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

Ah, the page isn't entirely true. Moving polygons further apart only makes Z fighting less obvious from farther distances. The actual way to "fix" Z fighting is to not have polygons cover each other at all. For boost pads, this would mean cutting out a boost pad hole in the road. --Torran (talk) 00:23, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
Thanks --Kingjt24 (talk) 02:24, 28 September 2015 (UTC)

50 points distance?

The article says "minimum 50 points distance". From early KCL (not model) analysis I know, that Nintendo places boost pads only 4 pixels above the road. So is 50 only a guess or a empirical value?

I think it is only a guess, it must be between 1 unit and 50 unit to not being epileptic (I'm advanced in flickering textures 🤣)
