Reviews

I thought it'd be better to make a Reviews page here. For if you want to share your thoughts or critique, feel free to post it here. You can post your review right under this message. And to prevent confusion, I think it's the best to add what version you're going to review. Some people might like the older versions while other people like the latest version for example.

The way how it works is simple. You fill in an empty spot in the table below by editing this page (if there are no empty spots left, you just can add an extra table thing, but please, keep it clean). You basically tell me what you like about this track, what you don't like, and what you'd like to see in the next update. Who knows it'll get updated with the stuff you want to have in... However, I do want to having it clean, insults and bad words don't motivate artists and hobbyists. Critique is meant for sharing your thoughts with the author. Sharing is caring, there's always a thing to improve!

User Track version Critique Rating
Wingcapman v1.5.3b

(Sunrise version)

What I like in this track:
  • I like how you added the green spore effect from Mushroom Gorge over the whole track;
  • All the extras you can do. Instead of racing, you can go to the swimming pool, there's a gym and an invisible maze;
  • I like how you made an elevator in it too.

My complains are:

  • Some paths are quite confusing due the lack of arrows and pretty dark textures though. Although it looks better on my old television, somehow it looks REALLY dark on other television;
  • Lack of itemboxes so here and there. Maybe adding more itemboxes can make this track more fun??;

What I'd like to see in a new update if possible:

  • Better textures;
  • More secrets;
  • I noticed you have made different versions before, might be nice to let other people choose which version they want to play. Like, a night version, a daylight version, snow version etc.
6.5 / 10

Why revived the page

I decide to revive the article, because our Wiiki is a kind of encyclopedia and the track is available and download is possible. And the the page contains only objective informations.

Wiimm (talk) 10:02, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

Wiimm decided to revive the Heart of China page with obvious reason, but there wasn't no download link yet. The main reason why Wiimm revived it is because Heart of China already exists in some Custom Track Distributions. However, there's no official download link of Heart of China yet.
The author understood why Wiimm revived it, and added an official download link. It directly links to a page where you can download either the CTT pack v1.2 or just the custom track itself.

About download links

A little brain storming:
  1. The CTT contains the track and the author gave the permission.
  2. There is no licence of CTT that forbid the usage of CTT in any way.
  3. I'm able to extract HOC.
  4. I'm able to re-upload the track without breaking any rules.
So why not provide a download link.

Good arguments -- Wiimm (talk) 16:39, 13 October 2013 (UTC)
....and solved by a download link provided by Wingcapman -- Wiimm (talk) 17:14, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

About the difficulty

I have played the track over weeks many times. It is very interesting to discover all rooms and gaps. But it isn't a good racing track because you hot the wall at many places and some the cannons throw you against walls. So it is impossible to drive a lap without accident. But it is very good artwork.

Wiimm (talk) 16:39, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

The word artwork is a very positive rating of me. It's great to find out all. -- Hanno, 16:53, 13 October 2013 (UTC)
Hmm... That's actually weird. I've tested with all vehicles, on every cc engine. And the only cannon which is not possible to take, is the red springboard cannon in the tunnel (next to the big yellow building) on 50cc when you're hit by lightning. The green one however, only has an issue with the Bullet Bill, yet the Bullet Bill is supposed to fly over the whole first floor... For now, the green springboard cannon is possible with every combination on every cc engine for me though, are you sure that you were flying against the whole when jumping on the green springboard?? @Wiimm It took me a little while to get used to every vehicle to test out Heart of China though. -- Wingcapman, 17:08, 13 October 2013 (UTC)
It's very different, if an author tests the track by its own. This is the same problem of all software. Final tests must always be done by people, that are not tested the software before. So don't be worry about the differences in mine and yours rating.
And I said it before: I like the track, but more as artwork than as a racing track.

New video?

I recently found this new video on Wingcapman's channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQUOTFfn91s&index=19&list=WL I was about to add it, but I don't think it's useful: it shows only improvements on the CPU routes, and it doesn't even clarify the version of the played track (it just says "v1.6 series"). What about you? --Dance4life628 (talk) 11:19, 8 June 2016 (UTC)

Ah yes, these kind of videos can be added in the progress list since it's still a progress video than an actual preview (like how I've posted all my other progress pictures on this page, since the progress is pretty slow, I decided to add a progress list on this page to tell the viewers that this project is still being worked on). So yeah, you can add this.

Readme File

I think the readme file from v2.0.3 should be removed. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 01:55, 7 November 2021 (UTC)

Why? Tragiic (talk | contribs) 16:45, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
Did you read it? Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 18:58, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, what's the issue? Tragiic (talk | contribs) 19:06, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure kids download tracks too. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 19:16, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
Ok? You should probably read the rules again; nowhere does it say that explicit language is not allowed, let alone if said language is offsite. Plus, the fact that your edit on the The Hardest Course Harder than The Hardest Course Harder than Mushroom Peaks section of the CTGP wishlist being reverted by moderators should say enough about anyone's take on explicit language. Sorry if I came off as a douche there, didn't know how to put it in a nicer way. Tragiic (talk | contribs) 20:33, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
