Model Complexity

Hi atlas, i havent tested your port yet but i looked at the model and it has unfortunately actually 96000 facepoints which is way too much for Mario Kart Wii. The track will propably lag in full rooms online and on offline splitscreen mode. It's the same problem that SuperMario64DS had with GP Mario Beach. I hope you are able and willing to try to reduce the number of facepoints below 50000. Thanks for your great work. --Sucht93a (talk) 08:27, 20 June 2016 (UTC)

PMWR Cloud Garden seems to have much more facepoints and it doesn't lag. Riverview Square has more file size in textures and it doesn't lag at all. Mario Kart Wii supports with no lag a track with a maximum of 65536 polygons, 65536 vertices, 65536 normals and 255 objects (not track objects, "polygonX" in the original courses). The total facepoints is not calculated separately from these in the game. I added several mipmaps to my course to reduce lag and moiré pattern, and what I've tried, 12 players and spamming several items with hacks, and no lag at all. And I never make tracks available for multiplayer modes, so I don't recommend to make them to be used in splitscreen. Although, I don't like to edit the original model. If you look closely comparing with original game version, there's a building missing from the background (yeah, I removed it because it was almost impossible to see in-game), and I also removed the ad wall before the last turn, making the [/ / / /] wall smaller replacing it. —Atlas (talk) 12:05, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
I test it on a real Wii. A splitscreen heavy slowmotion bug is there. It is a very nice track. --Snake (talk) 18:09, 4 July 2016 (UTC)
I've also tested it on a real wii. In two player mode (splitscreen) the track lags regularly! :( JRLS (talk) 18:28, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
Also tested PMWR Cloud Garden on real WII in two player splitscreen. It lags even more than diamond city to the point that it's not playable :( The track look great btw JRLS (talk) 18:28, 21 June 2020 (UTC)

Update for MKW-Fun

Hi Atlas, our tester team like this track. But we think, there are to less item rows. So I plan 3 variants for our tester team:

  • 3 item rows
  • 4 item rows
  • a special edition with many 3x green shells at the beginning.

I did a green shell edition before for SADX Twinkle Circuit (video). As told, at the moment it is only for the tester team. But later I will release 1 or 2 of the variants. Is this ok for you?

I agree with that. What about GP Mario beach speed from CTGP (or maybe a little slower)? And 4 laps like original Arcade game? —Atlas (talk) 13:09, 5 August 2016 (UTC)

WBZ File Question

drowload link is broken, wbz drowload is the same track to play it??? --Warwick92xD (talk)

It is exactly the same, but it would need to be converted into an SZS file. The "broken" download link in question is one of many I still need to fix from the Sync situation I had in August. --KantoEpic (talk) 05:58, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
