Overview
Meteor Shower (Crystallic Dream) is a custom track created by ISwearChris. It was created for the 51st edition of the Custom Track Jam competition series, where it placed fifth. The track was designed so the author could create a one lap track and experiment with fog settings and post-effect AREAs.
The author was unable to create the track the way it was intended, due to the time constraint of four days of the Custom Track Jam. An overhaul was made several months later to more accurately represent his vision and desire for the track. The track now features a nighttime driving, ambient feel, and makes use of a realistic-looking environmental design, mixed with cartoonized sections and magical areas to create many warped and uncanny valley-like liminal spaces. It was meant to capture many areas you could only think of in dreams, using a lot of off-the-cuff and creative innovative gameplay elements.
The track is heavily inspired by Dawn Township, River of Dreams and many of Strobenz's tracks. The intent was to restore the old style that custom tracks had during 2011 to 2015, while adding many new elements to keep things fresh.
Slot Information
It is recommended to put the Alpha version on slot 7.2 because of the thunderstorm ambience. From version Beta 2 onward, slot 8.4 is recommended because of the ambience and lava noises.
