Overview

Mario Kart Wii: Gimmick Vehicle Edition is a mod created by KogMawMain. Every vehicle has been modified to have a gimmick, such as being able to drive backwards at full speed, having to turn while standing still or having a very short wheelie duration.

Vehicles

Vehicle Listing
Vehicle Gimmick
St sdf kart.tpl.png
Standard Kart S
Basically a regular outside-drifting kart, except it trails items further away than normal.
St sa kart.tpl.png
Booster Seat
This vehicle has really high speed and acceleration, but massively slows down when turning.
St sb kart.tpl.png
Mini Beast
Use handling for turns and use drifts to get mini-turbos on straights.
St sc kart.tpl.png
Cheep Charger
Holding left or right during a drift does not noticably affect your drift radius.
St sd kart.tpl.png
Tiny Titan
This kart tilts easily.
St se kart.tpl.png
Blue Falcon
Slows down at high speed when not in a drift.
St sdf bike.tpl.png
Standard Bike S
Left drifts and right drifts are swapped.
St sa bike.tpl.png
Bullet Bike
There is a big distance between the vehicle and the tires.
St sb bike.tpl.png
Bit Bike
This bike has so much handling, you can (and should) wheelie even when taking tight turns.
St sc bike.tpl.png
Quacker
With this vehicle, you should only use handling and drifts to realign, not to get mini-turbos.
St sd bike.tpl.png
Magikruiser
The Magikruiser moves slower on regular road.
St se bike.tpl.png
Jet Bubble
This outside-drifting bike starts drifts very wide, but does not keep any sideways momentum when ending the drift.
St mdf kart.tpl.png
Standard Kart M
  • You can drive backwards at full speed as long as you keep turning.
  • While going backwards, holding B (1 on the Wii Wheel) makes you turn less tight.
St ma kart.tpl.png
Classic Dragster
This kart loses speed as soon as it hits the top speed, so you should try to stay slightly below top speed.
St mb kart.tpl.png
Wild Wing
You cannot trick or drift with this super high speed but zero acceleration kart.
St mc kart.tpl.png
Super Blooper
At the end of the drift, you "flip a coin" to either get a high speed or a low speed (it is not technically random; it switches between high and low speed every frame during the drift).
St md kart.tpl.png
Daytripper
This vehicle can switch between two top speeds:
  • Switch to your lower top speed by turning for at least one frame.
  • Switch to your higher top speed by ending a drift while holding neutral at the last frame of the drift.
St me kart.tpl.png
Sprinter
At the start of the drift, you "roll a dice" to determine your speed (while not drifting, your speed gets reduced a lot if at high speed in one frame and gets increased a lot while at low speed in one frame).
St mdf bike.tpl.png
Standard Bike M
  • Wheelies only last a very short time.
  • You cannot trick or drift.
St ma bike.tpl.png
Mach Bike
Drifts mostly affect the moving direction, but not the facing direction (drifting left makes you go in circles to the right and vice versa).
St mb bike.tpl.png
Sugarscoot
Drifts mostly affect the moving direction, but not the facing direction.
St mc bike.tpl.png
Zip Zip
  • This bike can only turn at zero speed by holding both A and B at the same time (1 and 2 on the Wii Wheel).[1]
  • The Zip Zip can accelerate instantly.
  • It stops instantly by turning while not holding A (2 on the Wii Wheel) or by drifting.[1]
St md bike.tpl.png
Sneakster
  • Mini-turbos last extremely long.
  • The Sneakster is extremely light.
St me bike.tpl.png
Dolphin Dasher
This vehicle only accelerates while not holding A (2 on the Wii Wheel) unless you are in a Star, Mega Mushroom or Thunder Cloud.
St ldf kart.tpl.png
Standard Kart L
On high speed, this kart will constantly slow down while not in a boost.
St la kart.tpl.png
Offroader
  • If you hold left (or right) and then neutral, the vehicle will keep turning left (or right) for a long time, so hold right (or left) to make it go straight again.
  • The longer you hold left or right, the tighter you will turn.
St lb kart.tpl.png
Flame Flyer
  • Loses speed when fast unless you turn.
  • Turning makes you accelerate faster.
St lc kart.tpl.png
Piranha Prowler
  • This vehicle gets pulled downward on slopes.
  • The Piranha Prowler bounces permanently.
St ld kart.tpl.png
Jetsetter
Holding left or right outside of a drift will not affect your turning noticably; instead, the direction you hold at the last frame of your drift determines how you turn after the drift.
St le kart.tpl.png
Honeycoupe
Use handling for turns and use drifts for acceleration.
St ldf bike.tpl.png
Standard Bike L
Basically a regular inside-drifting bike, except it holds items ahead of itself instead of behind.
St la bike.tpl.png
Flame Runner
The Flame Runner has very low traction, essentially making every ground slippery.
St lb bike.tpl.png
Wario Bike
Holding left when turning makes you go right and vice versa.
St lc bike.tpl.png
Shooting Star
Slows down at high speed when not in a drift, so it is better to get a lot of mini-turbos rather than to use wheelies.
St ld bike.tpl.png
Spear
Drift in a full circle to charge a mini-turbo that lasts 20 seconds.
St le bike.tpl.png
Phantom
  • If you hold left (or right) and then neutral, the vehicle will keep turning left (or right) for a long time, so hold right (or left) to make it go straight again.
  • The longer you hold left or right, the tighter you will turn.
  • Wheelies make you turn less tight for their duration, but will not stop you from turning tight after they end.
  1. 1.0 1.1 You can also drift during boosts without losing speed.

Change Characters Between Wi-Fi Races MrBean35000vr When in online play, the player's character, vehicle and drift mode choice may be changed between races by pressing + or START (depending on your controller) when on the VR screen.
