Overview
CTGP Revolution Classic is a custom track distribution created by Saiveeon. It was originally a remake of CTGP Revolution v1.03.0012, but the author then changed it into a collection of tracks from v1.03.1000 (previously v1.03.1038 and v1.03.1054) and lower, as well as a select few tracks from later versions that can be considered "classics".
As of v2.5 onward, development of this distribution has been picked up and continued by CyrusTheYoshi.

Special Features
Below are listed special features that are included in this distribution:
Feature | Author | Information |
---|---|---|
Automatic BRSAR Patching | Elias_ | The revo_kart.brsar file will now be automatically patched to prevent music from cutting off mid-race. |
Custom Menu System | Chadderz | This distribution makes use of custom menus to load custom track slots. The cup selection menu is modified with two buttons featuring arrows to the left and right of the main cups. When selected, these buttons cause the current on-screen cup buttons to be replaced with other cups, including custom cups, creating a scrolling menu system. All custom tracks are stored inside custom cups. |
Custom Server Support | Wiimm, Leseratte | Support to play on a custom Mario Kart Wii server has been added as a replacement to Nintendo WFC. |
Change Characters Between Wi-Fi Races | MrBean35000vr | When in online play, the player's character, vehicle and drift mode choice may be changed between races by pressing + on the Wii Remote (or Start on the GCN Controller) when on the VR screen. This simply takes the player back to the character select menu, and then returns them to the vote when they have reselected. If the time limit expires, the currently selected options are taken. |
Draggable Blue Shells | Luis | Blue Shells can now be held behind you like Green and Red Shells. They will explode on contact, but not hurt the player. They can be used to protect against other items being shot from behind, but if wheelie-bumped while holding a Blue Shell behind you, it will fall away and disappear. Only one Blue Shell can exist at once, so even when it is held out behind you, it will be impossible for anyone else to get one from an item box. |
Exception Handler | Star, Riidefi | This code will display exception information on the television screen when an exception occurs. After the console is finished scrolling, you will be returned to the Wii System Menu. |
Extended Font | Syara, CaXaP | Custom font that extends the Mario Kart Wii font to add Cyrillic, Polish, Czech, new Kanji, new DS symbols, and Wii U/3DS special symbols. They can be added to Mii names and seen by other players running the distribution. If the game is set to Korean, the original font is used instead. Special fonts are not extended. |
Extended Regions | Atlas | Support for custom in-game flags and texts to regions that are not available originally in Mario Kart Wii. They can be seen by other players running the distribution. |
Faster Menu Navigation | east | Speeds up menu navigations. This version works online. This option is toggleable. |
Force 30 FPS | Nick Reynolds | This code will force the game to cap at 30 FPS. It is currently Dolphin exclusive. |
Force Battle Bug/Glitch | XeR | The Battle Bug/Glitch is on automatically all the time, no need to do a quick battle. This option is toggleable. |
LE-CODE | Leseratte | This distribution uses the LE-CODE game extension developed by Leseratte. |
Max Lap Count Modifier | Geeh, MrEvil | A track can have anywhere between one and eight laps. |
Mii Heads on Minimap | JoshuaMK | The player's Mii head will appear on the minimap instead of their character's icon, excluding CPUs. This option is toggleable. |
My Stuff Folder | — | Allows users to replace certain files with their own, allowing for custom textures, among other things. This distribution has its own My Stuff folder, along with the options for the CTGP Revolution and old CTGP My Stuff folders. There are also options to disable replacing Nintendo tracks and only replacing music files. |
Pretty Speedometer + Fancy Speedometer | stebler, xMeap826, CyrusTheYoshi | Adds a graphic speedometer on the bottom right of the screen. You can toggle options to choose either a white or yellow color, as well as versions that support 4:3 aspect ratios. |
Remove Game Music | CosmoCourtney | Disables all music, using a modified version of Music Speed Modifier. This option is toggleable. |
SD Card Savegame | — | Allows users to save their game on their SD Card, rather than the Wii's NAND. |
Silent Controller Changer | Bully | Allows you to swap controllers at any time, even when online. Does not currently support the GameCube Controller. |
Speed Modifier | MrBean35000vr | Tracks have a speed modifier applied (e.g. 2× speed) which causes all parts of the game's physics to move at the increased speed (including vehicles, items and boosts). |
Special Fonts | Guilmon, Jorge | Custom fonts also featured in CTGP Revolution. These are Chalky, Outline and MV Boli |
Wi-Fi Time Limit Expansion | Chadderz | This distribution modifies the race time limit on Wi-Fi. It has been expanded from five minutes to 5:40, allowing longer tracks to be entered and played through to completion. The game has another hard limit of 5:56 before it disconnects everyone, so it is impractical to increase the time beyond 5:40, as the time advances even when looking at leaderboards. If 5:40 is reached, the distribution forces you past the leaderboards quickly to avoid disconnection. |
Wi-Fi Timer | Chadderz | The countdown timer on the Wi-Fi voting screen is always shown. The time allocated is 30 seconds. |
Wii Menu Option | Kazuki | Replaces the Mario Kart Channel button in the main menu with a button to return to the Wii Menu. |
