Welcome to the Custom Mario Kart Wiiki!

Wiiki.png

Thank you for joining the Custom Mario Kart Wiiki!

Before you get started, Click here to read the Rules page.

Keep the following in mind as you contribute to the site:

  • Make good edits. Always use the SHOW PREVIEW button to check your changes before you use the SAVE button. If you make a mistake, wait 15 minutes before saving the same page a third or fourth time in a row.
  • Saving lots of edits without PREVIEWING will get the moderators on your case, and can get you banned from the Wiiki.
  • If you plan to update a lot of pages in a short period of time, please clear it with a moderator first.
  • Write articles in third person (using words like he, she and they) instead of first person (I, me and we.) User pages and talk pages are the exceptions to this rule.
  • Use correct grammar, spelling and capitalization.
  • If someone posts on your talk page, please post a reply.
  • Sign all of your posts on talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • Don't delete anything from your talk page.
  • Use the Templates on the Main Page when making new articles for content such as Custom Tracks, Texture Hacks, Characters and other releases.
  • We encourage all content makers to create a User Link to put on their release pages and to add it to the Author List.

Thank you! --Atlas (talk) – CT/MK8 Wiki Admin 20:28, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

Canary Bay

Black screen with Canary Bay v3.1. Tested at slots 3.1 and 7.1. -- Wiimm (talk) 16:50, 30 April 2018 (UTC)

It might have to do with the BRRES, which gives me an error when I preview the model in BrawlBox. Currently trying to fix this problem. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:53, 30 April 2018 (UTC)
I've still been trying to fix the blackscreen, but with no success as of yet. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:40, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
The update is now released. I think the slow motion bug is present on some parts of the track, but I'm unsure right now. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:44, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
Worked! But I fo8und another issue: Coming from the boardwalk you can jump to the green plateau with a mushroom and use a short cut. You have to drive at the left, otherwise the lap does not count. -- Wiimm (talk) 12:03, 6 May 2018 (UTC)
Is this true? I thought I optimized the checkpoints in that area... --KantoEpic (talk) 16:13, 6 May 2018 (UTC)
Only now did I realize that the check points in that shortcut area needed to be extended. They should be fixed. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:09, 25 November 2018 (UTC)

Tomb of Anubis

Only an info about Tomb of Anubis: I updated the version numbers of my database following the current state of the page. -- Wiimm (talk) 17:27, 15 July 2018 (UTC)

Cool. Sorry if it may seem a little confusing, as I had to look through files a bunch of times. --KantoEpic (talk) 17:40, 15 July 2018 (UTC)
Each time I get a new file, I compare the version numbers. Sometime updates and versioning are very mysterious and look like scrambled. This is especially true for old tracks, because in the past I get tacks from many different sources. -- Wiimm (talk) 20:40, 15 July 2018 (UTC)
Interesting. Thanks again for editing the version numbers on your archive. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:55, 15 July 2018 (UTC)

Download Links

A lot of tracks need download links. I ask because the WBZ to SZS converter is just confusing to me. Tigerman (talk) 20:51, 18 July 2018 (UTC)

I am aware about that, since most downloads have either been taken down or just don't exist anymore. I've been busy with track updates for a bit, so I haven't gotten to restore downloads as much as I would like to. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:46, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
Ok. Tigerman (talk) 21:53, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
Do you have the download link to Green Loop? Tigerman (talk) 20:09, 21 July 2018 (UTC)
Yes, I do have them. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:30, 21 July 2018 (UTC)
Can you post that one on the page? The old download link was broken so I erased it. Green Loop is the only one I need. Tigerman (talk) 20:32, 21 July 2018 (UTC)
Fixed. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:41, 21 July 2018 (UTC)
Thanks! Tigerman (talk) 20:47, 21 July 2018 (UTC)

Hi Kanto Epic can you put download links for Autumn forest, autumn leavesway, riverview square, and rocrygma mines? Blake (talk) 19:49, 16 October 2020 (UTC)

I might look into those tracks. Are you unable to convert WBZ files to SZS files for yourself? --KantoEpic (talk) 23:30, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
I don't know how to convert the wbz files to szs files that's the only problem Blake (talk) 23:39, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
Have you tried installing and using the WBZ Converter? This is what I use for file conversion. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:41, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
Yes but I don't know how to use itBlake (talk) 00:17, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
To set it up, you need the Race/Course directory of the game; you can either put the unmodified track files within /original-race-course or use an ISO/WBFS file within /original-image/, but it should have unmodified track files. You do not need to do this again if everything goes right. Then, you place your WBZ files in WBZ-to-SZS and click on the convert-WBZ-to-SZS batch script for them to convert to SZS files. You can place more than one WBZ file in the directory, and you should remove them once they have been converted. --KantoEpic (talk) 00:31, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
Ok but is there a video tutorial of how to do itBlake (talk) 01:03, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
Not that I know of. --KantoEpic (talk) 02:01, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
Oh ok can you please do a tutorial? --Unsigned comment by Blake (talk).
I cannot be bothered to. Someone may make a tutorial involving WBZ conversion if they wish, but that is not part of my interest. --KantoEpic (talk) 02:14, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
where do i extract the file to after i download it Blake (talk) 02:27, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
You can place the WBZ Converter wherever you want – even on a removable drive. --KantoEpic (talk) 03:06, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
Oh ok but are you gonna put download links for those 4 tracks Blake (talk) 03:09, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
If you look above, I said that "I might." However, I will probably look into Autumn Forest tonight. The thing is, with tracks like these, I try to see if distributions like MKW Hack Pack have versions that were never published, which takes me longer than most people when they deal with reuploading files. --KantoEpic (talk) 04:29, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
And by the way when I said autumn leavesway I meant autumn raceway Blake (talk) 13:26, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
I was aware about that. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:04, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
And by the way what did you mean when you said race/course directory of the game Blake (talk) 13:29, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
The Race/Course directory contains the track files within a Mario Kart Wii game disc. The Filesystem page would probably help with what I am referring to – this specifically. --KantoEpic (talk) 15:28, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

Is there a concise or rapid way of seeing what tracks need wbz->szs conversions? These conversions are a contribution I might be able to make but I'm wondering if there's a better method than to sequentially try to download every track's szs file. Jc5504 (talk) 14:30, 21 October 2020 (UTC)

I don't believe there's a way to check tracks that need it for older versions, but for ones missing them all together you can check Category:Broken Downloads. Trainiax/SwampyGator (talk) 14:33, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
Not that I know of. I just list down which pages need new download links and versions that were unpublished – such as those from distributions. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:19, 21 October 2020 (UTC)

The download link for Water Island RC4.ctgp doesn't work can you replace it? Blake (talk) 14:53, 23 December 2020 (UTC)

Octane fixed it, though you were the one who added the download link in the first place. It does not exist on my Sync/Icedrive accounts. --KantoEpic (talk) 15:20, 23 December 2020 (UTC)

Can you add download links for Desert Castle Raceway (v1.0) and (v1.1) because the original download links didn't work? Blake (talk) 22:08, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

I mean, you did delete your own links. Whatever, I guess. I finished "repairing" them. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:51, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

Can I have the download szs file link to Icy Vulcan Valley RC3.ctgp x1.5 because there's no szs file just a wbz file? Blake (talk) 21:23, 24 January 2021 (UTC)

I suppose Trainiax never got around to add it to the page. I will get to it, as it contains some minor fixes. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:30, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
Done. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:42, 24 January 2021 (UTC)

Volcanic Land (RC1) needs a download link because when I checked it the link was broken Arthur (talk) 16:33, 5 June 2022 (UTC)

I thought I fully fixed that one, but I guess not. Thanks for pointing it out. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:51, 5 June 2022 (UTC)

And I checked Aura Metropolis (v1.2), Crystal Dungeon (v2.0.ctgp), Desert Strip (iNelom) (v2.0) & (v2.2), Forsaken Mansion (v1.0) & (v1.1), Kirio Raceway (v3.0+.ctgp) & (v4.1), N64 Rainbow Road (BigOto2) (v1.0R), (v1.1.ctgp1) & (v1.21), Rush City Run (Beta 3), Sky Beach (RC6.ctgp), SNES Bowser Castle 1 (Tock) (Beta +), SNES Bowser Castle 1 (DasFragezeichen & Tock) (v1.0), SNES Bowser Castle 1 (Wexos) (v1.2b), SNES Bowser Castle 2 (DasFragezeichen & Tock) (v1.0), SNES Bowser Castle 2 (Wexos) (v1.1), SNES Bowser Castle 3 (Tock) (v1.0), Subspace Factory (v1.1), Thwomp Factory (igorseabra4) (RC1+.ctgp) & (v2.0.ctgp), Tree Circuit (YellowYoshi) (v1.0) & (v1.0.troll), Unnamed Valley (Scye) (v1.1), Volcano Beach 2 (v2.0) all need download links because the links are broken Arthur (talk) 21:59, 5 June 2022 (UTC)

You broke the download links, but whatever. I will eventually look into them. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:18, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
They should all be fixed now. --KantoEpic (talk) 15:53, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
Thank you but I checked this one and this still isn't fixed SNES Bowser Castle 1 (DasFragezeichen & Tock) Arthur (talk) 20:53, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
Fixed. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:23, 7 June 2022 (UTC)

I just looked into the download link for Ibuki Luigi's Mansion v1.0 and personally I think the link is not a good one because when I downloaded it it was a rar file and I could not open it but I had to use notepad to open it but I could not get access to the file so when I opened it there was only one szs file in it not even with the track name the name of the szs file was "0000000000001-old_obake_sfc_d - copia.szs" so I personally think the link should be changed Arthur (talk) 22:42, 18 June 2022 (UTC)

It should only be changed if the download link stops working. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:56, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
but what does _d mean at the end of an szs file? Arthur (talk) 23:03, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
It does not mean anything. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:05, 18 June 2022 (UTC)

Rainbow Galaxy Staff Ghosts

KantoEpic please allow me to share staff ghost for Rainbow Galaxy ! Please tell ANoob that this is just for helping him people have staff ghosts on his race ! Thanks ! --Unsigned comment by Gold'N Zic 23 (talk).

I am perfectly fine with you making ghosts for tracks - that's a good thing. But please don't make pages designed specifically for the ghosts.
You can always create your user page and link the ghosts there. That's perfectly fine. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:28, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
Ok well I Will do this ! Sorry for having insist, I wasn't expecting that this serve to nothing ! You know, I'm new ! --Unsigned comment by Gold'N Zic 23 (talk).

Hi there ! I have posts my staff ghost links on my user page ! If you have Rainbow Galaxy course and you wanna download them, there isn't any problem ;) ! Plus, I work hard when doing the original staff ghost in order to make it nice just like if it is a Nintendo one ! But for the expert staff ghost no ! Lol --Unsigned comment by Gold'N Zic 23 (talk).

Also, it looks nice too ;) --Unsigned comment by Gold'N Zic 23 (talk).

Disambiguation for custom tracks

Do you like to create an template for disambiguation pages for custom tracks? We have several ct with same name, but different variants. Rainbow Jungle and Rainbow Jungle (MrDark35000vr) is an example. I asked you, because your english is very well.

-- Wiimm (talk) 09:18, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

It might work because some custom tracks already have disambiguation pages (Sandy Strait for example). Would there be anyone else on board with that? --KantoEpic (talk) 16:56, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
-- Wiimm (talk) 06:04, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
What if two versions of a track are completely different, such as Grass Road? --KantoEpic (talk) 17:36, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
Then they shouldn't share the same disambiguation page, -- Wiimm (talk) 20:08, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
OK, thank you. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:20, 6 August 2018 (UTC)

Enemy routes in battle arenas

For the moment I'm ready with Enemy routes in battle arenas. Feel free to improve my english (I know, you did it for many pages, and I like it). -- Wiimm (talk) 20:08, 6 August 2018 (UTC)

I'll check for grammar errors whenever I feel like it. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:20, 6 August 2018 (UTC)

PM @ Wii-Homebrew.com

Have you seen my private message? -- Wiimm (talk) 05:14, 11 August 2018 (UTC)

Just replied to it. --KantoEpic (talk) 16:46, 11 August 2018 (UTC)

Please read PM. -- Wiimm (talk) 22:06, 6 April 2021 (UTC)

Just replied to it. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:50, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
Meanwhile I changed the tag name to »en-name=ALT_TITLE«. And it is running from now on. -- Wiimm (talk) 22:53, 6 April 2021 (UTC)

Candy Mountains

Please don't mess with custom track without asking permission. You are going against the creator's intentions. We intentionally scaled the minimap this way. If you want to make some adjustments for a distribution it's totally fine. However, don't make it an official release. Thank you so much in advance! --MrKoeikoei (talk) 19:35, 24 August 2018 (UTC)

I might as well mark the update as unofficial in that case. You didn't have to undo my entire edit, though. --KantoEpic (talk) 19:46, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
Never mind. Leseratte did that for me when I was typing this message. --KantoEpic (talk) 19:46, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
One more thing: The update was from v3 of MKW Hack Pack − I had to release it. The Published Works Policy says so, which I have been doing for other tracks as well. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:09, 24 August 2018 (UTC)

Notification

Did you notice this: Talk:Delfino Bay -- Wiimm (talk) 11:34, 1 September 2018 (UTC)

Yes, I have. Sorry if I didn't reply to it proper. --KantoEpic (talk) 16:28, 1 September 2018 (UTC)

Warp Pipe Island

I don't understand the reasons to rename Warp Pipe Island to DS Dokan Course. Dokan is a boring long track. Warp* has another and shorter racing line. If I played Warp* I haven't any association with Dokan. Maybe Warp* is inspired by Dokan, but it is definitely not Dokan.

Other reasons to stay at Warp Pipe Island:

  • Total other characteristics.
  • Authors wish.
  • Wario's Lair looks much as N64 Wario Stadium, but is different and has its own name. (there are other examples).

-- Wiimm (talk) 12:09, 20 November 2018 (UTC)

Agreed with this, the name DS Dokan dosent fit at all Zachruff (talk) 17:49, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
No reaction by KantoEpic or Luke Chandler?? -- Wiimm (talk) 14:53, 23 November 2018 (UTC)
I've shown Luke and he agrees 100% it should be called Warp Pipe Island, you should probably just put it back cuz idk where kanto is. -- Zachruff (talk) 14:59, 23 November 2018 (UTC)
Sorry, I've just been doing nothing for the past few days. Anyway, Wiimm, if I were to revert the page back to how it was, should I still keep the {{about}} part of the page, but tweak it a bit? --KantoEpic (talk) 20:34, 23 November 2018 (UTC)
You are the show runner here and do too much edits every days. So a break of some days is a good choice. I would remove the {{about}} part and add a description about the inspiration, Wingcapman's heritage and Luke's finalizing. -- Wiimm (talk) 23:25, 23 November 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for reverting. I haven't time for it because working at the new SZS tools + patcher. -- Wiimm (talk) 08:12, 24 November 2018 (UTC)

Mushroom Creek

Yeah, alright. I'll be short on this one. Changing a Wiki page cutting content because "it's too descriptive" is madness. A Wikipedia page is supposed to give as much information as possible on a certain topic or subject, and a Wiki is a specialized Wikipedia section, nothing more, nothing less. Thus, cutting content from a Wiki page legitimately corresponds to literally preventing a visitor of said page from having half of the information they can have. On the other hand, I think that there are a lot of CT pages that contain informations that are way too concise.

That said, I am going to restore the original page once again, deleting all the name translations I'm uncertain of to avoid misinformative content. I'd also like to point that no information is unneeded in a Wiki.

Peace. --Unsigned comment by Quattro (talk).

Me and Atlas discussed about the page privately. We agreed that it was overly detailed and too long. The overview only really needs a short summary of the track. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:48, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

Snake Circuit

Kanto, I uploaded the wrong file. I took it down because it’s not RC3. It was just a test version for Huili that I accidentally labeled as RC3. Now can you please let me take it down? Toxic Prime (talk) 04:00, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

There's no point in removing it now, since the Published Works Policy says this:
Custom content, once added to the Wiiki, can be included in any Distribution, even if removed from the Wiiki in the future, and the content itself may get mirrored by Wiiki users even if the original download link is deleted.
I told you earlier on Discord that I actually downloaded the file (which you haven't removed, by the way). Regardless, you can always release a new version as RC3.1 (or something like that) and it would be made up for the mistake you made earlier. --KantoEpic (talk) 04:33, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

Oopsie

So I created my User:JoshuaMK page, and tried to link Dongo Cave and Bowser's Challenge to it by editing my name from JoshuaMK to JoshuaMK, but it just says the page doesn't exist. How is this fixed, or will I have to create a whole new page? --Unsigned comment by JoshuaMK (talk).

JoshuaMK is used as a redirect page for your user page, which didn't exist until I made it. --KantoEpic (talk) 07:15, 20 November 2019 (UTC)

Adding a newer YouTube Video

If there are three older versions of a track in the youtube section, which version should I remove in order to keep a newer version up? I deleted 2.0 because it was older, as well as a Time Trial which was not recommended. Trainiax - Waiting for Incendia Castle... 03:23, 26 December 2019 (UTC)

It depends on what the updates actually do and how many there are. Regarding your edit on the Overnight Road page, it wouldn't really be agreeable to have both v2.1 and v2.2 in the Media section and not v2.0 and v2.2. v2.0 doesn't have mipmaps for the rainbow road texture, while v2.1 and v2.2 do, along with object edits. They may not be huge changes, but they're noticeable enough.
For something such as Sky Beach, there's many changes from a version like RC6 to v1.0, and then to v2.0. It would be a different story if there was a different video limit, but it would make scrolling through a page much more of a chore. --KantoEpic (talk) 04:06, 26 December 2019 (UTC)

PAGENAME

Since this was just made in a recent edit on BMD, I was wondering if you could clarify what proper use of the PAGENAME constant/template is meant to be? Over the years I have noticed admins/moderators/other staff swap the "magic word" out for a plain copy of the page title. Contrast this with articles like Mario Kart: Super Circuit, which utilizes the magic word numerous times. Is it a matter of the magic word being longer or shorter than a plain copy of the page's title? I'd like to know this for future edits/articles. --SuperMario64DS (talk) 01:14, 14 February 2020 (UTC)

Most pages on this website don't use the {{PAGENAME}} template in the Overview. I don't see the need for using it outside of the {{Misc-Info}} template box for custom tracks and the like. --KantoEpic (talk) 01:46, 14 February 2020 (UTC)
Alright, thank you. I will try to keep edits inline other standards I can identify in the future. --SuperMario64DS (talk) 01:50, 14 February 2020 (UTC)

Distribution support by ct.wiimm.de

3x Hack Pack included. Many files are unknown (it's ok for me). -- Wiimm (talk) 07:50, 23 February 2020 (UTC)

I'm not surprised at all. The amount of unknown files might increase when I send you the rest of the MKW Hack Pack versions, which I'll get back to soon. --KantoEpic (talk) 07:53, 23 February 2020 (UTC)
First I'll tell you, that you are tired. Second, 3 distribution added. I set v5.openbeta as predecessor of v6.01. -- Wiimm (talk) 07:49, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
There are three more versions left to add: v5.0, v5.0a (which literally only has one track difference) and v6.0. I'll try to finish these up by the weekend. --KantoEpic (talk) 08:22, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
I'll change the predecessor with the release. -- Wiimm (talk) 10:13, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
I added your 3 last uploads. Here you can see the series name (important for distrib links): https://ct.wiimm.de/dis
-- Wiimm (talk) 12:47, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Awesome! I'm guessing the series name only implies to distributions with more than one version? --KantoEpic (talk) 03:46, 4 April 2020 (UTC)
Correct. -- Wiimm (talk) 06:34, 4 April 2020 (UTC)
Alright. Should I send you direct track and arena files that don't match SHA1 hashes on your archive privately on Wii-Homebrew.com? --KantoEpic (talk) 06:41, 4 April 2020 (UTC)
Yes, but I need name+version to identify the tracks. -- Wiimm (talk) 09:30, 4 April 2020 (UTC)
I found a bug while managing SHA1 aliases. So it's better (less work for both of us) to wait until I fixed it, because some missed filed will be solved. -- Wiimm (talk) 10:31, 4 April 2020 (UTC)

Sssniperwolf's Answer From Their Talk Page

It is not really fair that there isn't enough grammar for me to fix, so I have to make an edit of some kind. I'm using some tool and it underlines grammar in red if it detects any errors but I don't get many. It just underlines categories and tells me to space the semi-colons. --Sssniperwolf (talk) 20:04, 7 March 2020 (UTC)

Don't believe a tool but proof by yourself. And it seems, that your tools likes british more then american english. -- Wiimm (talk) 20:31, 7 March 2020 (UTC)
Sniper, the Custom Mario Kart Wiiki isn't meant to be a place that is only being cleaned up by you. In fact, you're not cleaning anything – you're doing the opposite most of the time. While this website is owned by someone from Germany and a few other key users are also from that country or somewhere near it, we use American English for articles, as you can tell. You're welcome to help out with improving articles, but what you've been doing hasn't been helpful. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:43, 7 March 2020 (UTC)

2nd ktpt alternative

I got a hint from Wiimm not to make alternative version with 2nd ktpt yesterday. Can I change Yoshi's Pyramid v1.2.le to v1.2.1? -- Kazuki 12:03, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

Maybe wrong! So for clearness: You got a hint to make only a version with 2nd ktpt. And if you do so, don't make a version without 2nd ktpt, because the first version can be used with and without LE-CODE. -- Wiimm (talk) 12:46, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
I changed the version number because the update essentially does nothing if you're not using LE-CODE. Like Wiimm said, however, if you're going to release an update of a track, don't have a separate version that doesn't include a secondary start position. --KantoEpic (talk) 00:32, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

Bugs

Why do you always remove the "Known Bugs" from my page??? --SitBar (talk) 07:56, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

My mistake. I knew the track did not blackscreen/crash on console, but it only occurs on CTGP Revolution. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:48, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

Disrespectful

What you said about Degeso is incredibly disrespectful. This is literally the reason he didn't release many of his mods in the first place. You shouldn't just delete an unfinished page because you have a bias against the creator. --Bodacious (talk) 22:06, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

There was no way I would have known he was going to release his Legoshi mod at some point. I thought it was going to be something he would give to a few people. I have never held a grudge against Degeso, considering I knew him longer than most – when he was known as DabuDos. I apologize for this. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:05, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

My Thwomp Meadows error

Apologies for this "It is not on Wiimm's archive yet. Regardless, you put the WBZ ID for Thwomp Meadows in all instances of your distribution" I Thought that I was making a link to the distribution on Wiimms CT archive for HackerCop's Track Pack not that I was making a link to thwomp meadows. Thanks for reverting my mistakes --HackerCop (talk) 20:12, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

All good. The update for your distribution is not on Wiimm's archive, which is why I changed your edits. When it is on Wiimm's archive, make sure you are using the right WBZ IDs. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:15, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

Distribution versions in custom tracks

At the custom track distributions section in Just Another Bowser Castle why did you change it from HackerCop's Track Pack (v1.3.1) to HackerCop's Track Pack (v1.1). The track was only included in version 1.3.1. Thanks --HackerCop (talk) 20:15, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

It refers to the version number(s) of a track/arena, not the distribution. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:49, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
That makes sense. I thought it was the version of the distribution. --HackerCop (talk) 07:26, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
I introduced it years ago to document the track version. At that time I wrote "MKW-Fun 2015-02 (v1.3)". So it was clear, that "2015-02" is the version number of the distribution and "v1.3" the track version. But now we have examples, where it is not clear. -- Wiimm (talk) 23:10, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
This is especially true when a version number of a track/arena matches a former distribution version number, which happened with Just Another Bowser Castle and HackerCop's Track Pack. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:14, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

Breaks in user link?

Hey, I was wondering why you keep adding breaks into my user link. You keep editing where it is when I add stuff, is there some format rule I need to follow? Whipinsnapper (talk) 16:40, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

It did not look properly formatted when viewed within a maximized window. That is why I kept updating the user link to adjust line breaks. --KantoEpic (talk) 16:42, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
Ah, gotcha. I usually use the Wiiki on my phone so it looks a bit funky anyway. No worries! Whipinsnapper (talk) 17:04, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

Stop arbitrarily modifying our track's credits, please.

You have been altering me and Remurin's track Blazing Subterrane's page multiple times over the past weeks, with things that I do not agree with. Our track was released on the 13th of July, yet you keep changing it back to the 12th. Your argument is "the release in the CT Jam discord wasn't private" however it definitely was, it's a small server and our track was distributed anonymously. It was given to the people there to test drive the track before the public release. What if I made changes to the track before the next day? I beg you, please stop changing the date back. I as a track author should have the right to decide what time I release my tracks.
Besides that, you arbitrarily added Remurin to the "creators" list, when I made the conscious decision to mark him only as a designer, since he had never touched the track's files besides that. As much as designer and creator are both equally responsible for a track, they're not the same thing. Please, stop arbitrarily changing things based on what you might have read somewhere. We made the track, we know who did what. Furthermore, I think both creators and designers should be considered authors, and yet Remurin somehow doesn't deserve to get his author information listed on Saltwater Lake because apparently "designers aren't authors." I call nonsense on that one. I want to ask you again, please stop changing the credits of our tracks seemingly arbitrarily. I'm done with this edit battle. My track is my track. You don't get to decide its credits nor my release date. I'm done with this nonsense.
KevinVG207 (talk) 08:20, 21 July 2020 (UTC)

I left the date as the 12th because it was not only consistent with the deadline for the tracks of that specific Jam, but the file was most definitely not private. Did you know that the Custom Track Jams Discord server is still publicly accessible through the singular invite link found within the Custom Track Jam page itself and in YouTube video descriptions, which can be shared to anyone by anyone? Did you know that you do not even need a proper account to access the files? I already discussed about the "privacy" on its talk page, which did not get any replies on it, but I did have a discussion about it with some of the participants within the Discord server. The current situation with the tracks without articles is a giant, giant mess, and there is no solution as of yet.
I mean, you are technically right about the release date. However, if I released a mod somewhere that is publicly accessible but I did not announce such and I placed it where not many people would find it, and then later on I made its Wiiki page along with an announcement that it was released, what do you think would be the ideal release date? I would go for the former – I have seen this happen with music projects before. Plus, the other tracks from the latest Jam (as of this message) and other Jams share their respective dates for their first releases, so I do not see why you want to make an exception for only your track. I think it is easier to track if the date were kept, honestly.
I will revert what I did with Remurin's credit on your track. That is definitely my fault. However, with something like Block Fortress where I did edit some parts of the initial model back in July 2018, do I really deserve to have my user link listed below? Designers can be authors, but that is not the case at times. Look at Speedwagon Speedway, for example; Putinas made the initial model and Jasperr edited it, but Toxic Prime made the track playable. Jasperr nor Putinas touched the track files; they contributed to the designing process only. --KantoEpic (talk) 17:14, 21 July 2020 (UTC)

Creating a help page on the Wiiki

Hello KantoEpic, I was thinking that we should create a help page on the Wiiki so that people who need help can post their issues there and others can help them. By doing this it would mean firstly that all help requests are in the same place so that people with the same problem would be able to find solutions easily. It also makes it easier for helpers to help others if all the help requests are on the same page. By having all the helpers in one place it would also mean that they could edit each others replies to improve them/fix mistakes more easily.

I'm proposing this because I've seen that many people have just posted their help requests on the talk pages of advanced modders/custom track tutorial/main page/software programs which is slightly inappropriate as these pages are really for discussing the improvement of the page. In the case of advanced modders many do not offer help/requests meaning that people fruitlessly edit the talk pages of many users hoping that one will help.

I believe that having a wiki help page would solve all these problems and I'm 100% willing to create one and help people on it but I'd appreciate your thoughts on this before proceeding. Also preferably there should be a link to it on the main page if it is successful to make it easier for people who need help to find it. Thanks --HackerCop ❯❯❯ Talk 17:38, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

I completely forgot about this message. Anyway, I am not entirely too sure about this suggestion. I will probably discuss this with other staff members and see what they have to say. --KantoEpic (talk) 06:16, 17 August 2020 (UTC)

Android/iOS Tracks

Can you please add this to the home page? Thanks! MarkAlbertsma03 (talk) 18:58, 29 August 2020 (UTC)

I added it along with a few other mod directories. --KantoEpic (talk) 00:43, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

How are people supposed to know it exists? Can you please fix this, I've seen other tools appear on the recent releases tab. JoshuaMK (talk) 17:34, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

You did not update the program on the same day you made the Wiiki page for it. That is why I did not add it to the News. --KantoEpic (talk) 19:05, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

Uploading files

Is there a way to upload multiple files at once? MarkAlbertsma03 (talk) 18:39, 21 September 2020 (UTC)

I am pretty sure you have to upload them one by one. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:12, 21 September 2020 (UTC)

Mario Kart Tour Pictures

Why did you delete them? A wiki should provide as much information as it can and I have all the vehicles from Mario Kart Tour ready to be uploaded. MarkAlbertsma03 (talk) 07:01, 26 September 2020 (UTC)

I think it would be better to have references for the vehicles instead. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:26, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
References for the vehicles are a good idea, but I still think a preview of the vehicle on the page would be nice. You can see how the vehicle looked like in the actual game rather than remakes that might not be 100% accurate. MarkAlbertsma03 (talk) 07:34, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

Characters

On Help:List of Custom Characters/Vehicles it specifically says no characters without wiki pages? Trainiax/SwampyGator (talk) 01:26, 15 October 2020 (UTC)

This is funny because this means Atlas was breaking the rule when he added his characters onto the page a few years ago, though now they have pages thanks to Mark. I will see if this rule needs to be slightly adjusted or not. Regardless, Whipinsnapper does plan to make pages for his characters with only download links. --KantoEpic (talk) 01:42, 15 October 2020 (UTC)

Cheat Code pages deletion

Why did you delete the pages on my infinite blue and green shell cheats :(, is it because my codes aren't original enough? I made them by concatenating other people's codes (they were credited on the page) and editing values to achieve the effects I want. For example most beginners (myself 3 months ago) don't know that you need to use an item limit modifier as well as the always have item codes to get infinite items but my codes combined these and filled out all the values for the beginner meaning that they could just run the code and play. The codes were really popular on my YT channel, it's not like they were spam etc. I was planning to release more codes on this site so what criteria do I need to meet? --HackerCop ❯❯❯ Talk 17:33, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

They were not original cheat codes. They were also not that useful. --KantoEpic (talk) 00:42, 15 November 2020 (UTC)

You are talking about this, right? The notice does not follow with how any user can use the track for a distribution. Also, the overview already states it was not meant to replace your version, even though it was unauthorized. I think it was important to mention it was unauthorized, but the notice did not need to be there. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:27, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

CTGP Revolution v1.0 Download

Hey, according to 3hunts and you, on the CTGP v1.00 talk page, you have a download link for v1.00 without the XML files. Would it not be possible for you to combine your CTGP v1.00 file with the CTWW v2 patch and put it back onto the Wiiki from there? (If you even still have it, of course.) --Tragiic (talk) 21:24, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

I checked an XML file from the Custom Track Worldwide patch and it would seem to work fine with the distribution itself. From what I already have on my computer, Tock's live view patch seems to be included, but I have no idea if it works correctly given that the XML files we have are older. Regardless, I will add a download link to CTGP Revolution v1.0 within at least 12 hours. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:48, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

why am i not able to edit a certain wiki page? it could literally have a very subjective term and it would be kept as is. why? オッドゾフ (talk) 02:58, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

Which page are you referring to? Assuming it's someone else's user page, like the thread title mentions, you shouldn't be able to change that because it's not your page, it's up to the user to put whatever they want there. Trainiax/SwampyGator (talk) 03:17, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
yea but it's a wiki page, anyone can edit it. therefore, i do not understand why i am not able to edit it. オッドゾフ (talk) 03:35, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
Because it's not in the main space. It's in the User space, which means it's their personal page. Trainiax/SwampyGator (talk) 13:15, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
i see. i'll go ahead and leave this to rot since my point has been contradicted. オッドゾフ (talk) 15:00, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

All of the other pages have capital letters and are plurals. I think the information on ItemSlot Editor should match with the rest of the Wiiki. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! (talk) 22:06, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

Yes, some pages still contain them. However, other pages have been changed within the past year – regardless if I made these revisions or not. I personally think it is better to remove the plural form of "File Formats:" to "File format:" for a singular item in an information table. The decapitalization is also consistent with how the version history looks like. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:17, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

There is no link for v1.0. There's only a video of it. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 01:09, 26 November 2021 (UTC)

What I said still applies to the first version in the version history. --KantoEpic (talk) 01:41, 26 November 2021 (UTC)

F-Zero Mute City (Moonview Highway Texture)

I added the video, thank you for embeding it into the page (I'm new here and don't know how to do that). I changed the video's title and description to fit the guidelines (mentioned it was emulated footage in the YouTube video title and added the link in the video description) Plnat Salad (talk) 02:58, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

Light Blue Flower in an Unknown Custom Track

I know this is completely random, but have you seen track with a light blue flower similar to this? I want to use it for a texture.

I only remember the Ice Flower object in Helado Mountain. --KantoEpic (talk) 14:12, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
The track with the flower is currently in CTGP. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 14:46, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
No clue. I lose track of what is in CTGP Revolution these days. --KantoEpic (talk) 16:06, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
I found it. When I first saw it, the other version had been removed from CTGP that day. It was kind of in CTGP. I had the tab open among ≥ 150 tabs. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 02:08, 12 December 2021 (UTC)

KMP Routes

How do you make Seagull and s_itembox routes? Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 22:53, 10 December 2021 (UTC)

You have to use a KMP editor like KMP Cloud in order to make routes. Lorenzi's KMP Editor does not support routes. It is simple to make them. --KantoEpic (talk) 01:41, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
a) It's not simple. I have no idea how to do it.
b) Are there any objects that have 2 models (preferably with one being the shadow)? Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 07:21, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
Lorenzi's KMP Editor does support routes. Krummers(#1936) (talk) 07:32, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
How do you make them on Lorenzi's KMP Editor? Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 09:50, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
It doesn't let me put x, y and z coordinates on Lorenzi's KMP Editor. Clicking the textbox does nothing. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 10:13, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
Never mind. I got it. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 10:15, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
I still need an object with 2 models. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 10:39, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
There are many objects with more than one model, but I personally recommend the bouncy/green mushroom objects. If you want one with a route, try using the balloon from GCN Mario Circuit. --KantoEpic (talk) 13:26, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
I'm using the balloon, but its top speed (16960) is really slow. Is there anything faster? It also says it faces the direction it's moving in, but its only facing one direction. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 00:09, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
The Luigi Circuit blimp is also an option. --KantoEpic (talk) 05:32, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
That's also slow and it's also facing the same direction the whole time. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 12:13, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
I have no clue what other object is best suited for you. --KantoEpic (talk) 14:15, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
Beta versions if you want. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 14:39, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
You could try using the penguin objects – except for the small variant. They contain two models each and are route-controlled. --KantoEpic (talk) 15:38, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

About Moving the article Paint Luigi (Luigi Texture)

Hi, Thanks for moving the page for me. I was struggling to figure out how to move the page myself. Could you maybe give a brief explaination on how it works? [Error404, Signature not found!] (GLiTCH|talk) 21:34, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

Depending on your preferences for the website's "skin", an option called "Move" should be somewhere on the page. It might be covered by an arrow – for me, it is. Since you confirmed your account through an email, you should be able to move pages. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:43, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
I did see the Move tab. However I wasnt quite sure of how to operate the function itself. [Error404, Signature not found!] (GLiTCH|talk) 21:46, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
The "(Main)" prefix would remain the same because it is a normal article. You only change the actual page title, like "Paint Luigi" to "Paint Luigi (Luigi Texture)." --KantoEpic (talk) 21:57, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
Ah. in that case I was doing it right. I just was too scared to save the changes since there was a very real chance I did it wrong. I will use this knowledge in the future, should I come across another, similar situation. Thank you very much for explaining this to me. Youtube Video Rules

Hello Kanto, thank you for editing my in-progress music distribution page. I am new to the wiki and noticed the rule stating Youtube videos should "Show normal gameplay with minimal unrelated hacks and modifications." I already recorded footage for my music distribution and it's normal CTGP offline VS gameplay, however I had character and HUD textures enabled as that's how I normally play. Would I be allowed to link this video on the wiki page, or would I have to re-create the video with BRSTMs only enabled? Thanks, Jason (talk) 02:04, 3 March 2022 (UTC)

You can have other mods shown in the video. --KantoEpic (talk) 02:09, 3 March 2022 (UTC)

Pride Kart Wii

Hi Kanto, thanks for adding the track listing table to the page of my texture hack distribution. I am not currently planning to have individual articles for each track, as I felt that it would be quite cumbersome to have 17 pages when the tracks are intended to be part of a whole package - however would it be better if I did create individual pages? And if not, would it be okay for me to just give the tracks their names and version numbers on the distribution page and leave the names unhyperlinked? Primm (talk) 20:05, 29 April 2022 (UTC)

The texture hacks should have pages. It makes it easier to download or learn about one of the texture hacks instead of having to download the entire distribution over and over again. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:46, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
Thank you, I shall begin creating the pages over the next few days then! Primm (talk) 20:59, 29 April 2022 (UTC)

MKW Hack Pack v3.0 Tracks

I would like to download these following track versions but the download links are not there:

1. Green Park v2.8a.boost1 2. Rooster Island v1.0+-boost1 3. Nightmare to Dream World v4.2.hp1 4. Daisy Gardens v1.2.1.hp1 5. Fishdom Island v4.1-night.hp1 6. Volcano Beach 3 v1.0.hp1 7. Volcano Island v1.0.hp1 8. Nebula Lava Factory v1.0.hp1 9. Disco Fever v2.2.hp1 10. Sea Stadium v1.0-pre 11. The Chamber v1.1.hp Arthur (talk) 20:21, 15 May 2022 (UTC)

I do not have those files at the moment because they existed in an older version of MKW Hack Pack that does not have a working download link anymore. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:37, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
So do you think Huili might have them Arthur (talk) 20:42, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
No. Although he has an archive of older versions of his distribution, he no longer has v3.0. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:35, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
I have a suggestion though but it will only apply to a couple of tracks so for Grassland Lake download the v1.0 version then change the road collision to boost and for Green Park download version v2.8a then change the road collision to boost but the thing is i dont know how to change the road collision to boost Arthur (talk) 21:47, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
That is not a good idea. There might have been more changes made to the tracks. It is safer to wait until a download link for v3.0 resurfaces and we can verify the necessary files. When that will happen, I do not know. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:36, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
Are you talking about a download link for MKW Hack Pack v3.0? And I already checked the tracks for those 2. And I don't think there will be a download link for v3.0 for the hack pack. Hopefully there is one day because the version of MKW Hack Pack I want to use is v3.0. Not v3.14 Arthur (talk) 23:00, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes, I was referring to MKW Hack Pack. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:02, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
And for Magnetic City do you know what version was in mkw hack pack v3.0? Because i know that in that version if you play it you go a little faster than in the other versions and that version is not in the version history of Magnetic City and do you know how to change the road collision to boost for any custom track for example like Digitally Enhanced Arthur (talk) 23:07, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
1. Judging by a video, I can safely assume it used RC2.2, where Phil would later modify the track again in MKW Hack Pack v3.1 (RC2.2b). 2. You simply change a KCL flag. A few tools can do this (like SZS Modifier or CTools, which I do not recommend because they are old), but I use Wiimms SZS Tools with the --kcl-flag option. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:29, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
Well actually I watched a video about v3.0 and Magnetic City had trucks in the v3.0 version of the hack pack Arthur (talk) 23:34, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for pointing that out. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:54, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
So are you sure what version it is or no Arthur (talk) 23:57, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
I updated the page twice. It is RC2.2. --KantoEpic (talk) 00:12, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Ok and RC2.2 removed a lot of cars or was it rc2.2b that removed a lot of cars and is there a download link for rc2.2? Arthur (talk) 00:20, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Here is the video https://youtu.be/EAbKmpTQRCg You want to watch start from 23:04 Arthur (talk) 00:24, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
I used that video as a reference. Since RC2.2 was in MKW Hack Pack v3.0 and there is no download link for that version of the distribution, I do not know for sure; it is a best guess. --KantoEpic (talk) 00:28, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Also Kinoko Valley in v3.0 hack pack had monty moles in it and 3.14 didn't and it says that it removed a lot of objects for v3.0 but it still had monty moles for 3.0 Arthur (talk) 00:46, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for that too. --KantoEpic (talk) 01:59, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
And for v3.0 the grass was not marked out of bounds but for v3.14 the grass got marked out of bounds so that's another change Arthur (talk) 02:19, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes, the grass off-road collision was changed at some point, but how do you know it was changed in MKW Hack Pack v3.0? --KantoEpic (talk) 02:39, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Well Kinoko Valley v4.2 had fire bars, Monty moles and the grass was drivable but for v4.2.hp1 they got rid of the fire bars, the Monty moles were still there and the grass was still drivable but for v4.2.hp2 there were also no fire bars then they finally removed the Monty moles, then they made sure the grass was not drivable anymore starting in v4.2.hp2. I know this because I watched a video on v3 hack pack but I have v3.14 hack pack for myself then that's how I found out and I'm still trying to look for v3.0 hack pack Arthur (talk) 02:59, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Also I have another idea so since the Version RC2.2 of Magnetic City is not downloadable what if you just download the RC2.2b version and just reinstate the trucks that got removed would that work? Arthur (talk) 20:54, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
To quote an earlier message:
That is not a good idea. There might have been more changes made to the tracks. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:09, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Actually i looked and there wasn't so maybe it might work and is there a way to do that? And it worked before but i just dont know how to do it Arthur (talk) 21:15, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
I know how to modify tracks, but I am against "replicating" an update to a track for accuracy reasons. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:25, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
But what im trying to do is trying to morify the track as well and the reason why I would like to is because there is no download link for that version Arthur (talk) 21:33, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Some tracks will have versions without a working download link for a long time. It happens. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:36, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
But do you think it will come back eventually? Arthur (talk) 21:37, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
And how do you modify custom tracks? Like what tools will you need? Arthur (talk) 21:53, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
1. At some point, it has to. Nothing is truly gone. 2. BrawlBox/BrawlCrate (BRRES), KMP Cloud/Lorenzi's KMP Editor (KMP) and Wiimms SZS Tools are the tools I use. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:13, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
So if im going to change the road collision to boost for a track i have wiimms szs tools and extracted to desktop so what do i do next Arthur (talk) 23:20, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Did you install it? --KantoEpic (talk) 23:21, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes so what do i so next?Arthur (talk) 23:22, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Go to the directory of your track file and extract it with Wiimms SZS Tools (wszst EXTRACT <track name>.szs). You should now have a folder with subfiles that make up the track. To change a KCL flag in the collision file ("course.kcl"), use the command wkclt ENCODE course.kcl --kcl-flag <old flag>=<new flag> -o. For example, if I wanted to change the default main road flag to boost, it would look like this: wkclt ENCODE course.kcl --kcl-flag 0x0000=0x0006 -o. If you want to know which flags you want to replace, use the command wkclt CFF course.kcl and continue to replace the flags with the --kcl-flag" command once you familiarize yourself with the ones used on the track. Once you finish and want to test the track, delete the .flag file and create the track (you have to be in the directory outside of the track folder) with wszst CREATE <track name>.d -o.
Ok so first of all im not sure if i downloaded the right one because i was on the wiimms szs tools website and i have a windows computer so when i get on the website it gives me a list of tools like for example 1. Wiims szs tool 2. wiimms bmg tool. I clicked on wiimms szs tool then there is a yellow box and one option says download then i clicked download then it gives me versions so the pink box is contents then the blue box is downloads by version and the options are szs v2.27 linux 64 bit then linux 32 bit then cygwin (windows) 32 and 64 bit i dont know if i should download 32 or 64 bit. Now that's when im having trouble Arthur (talk) 01:14, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
It depends on your computer. The system setting "About your PC" should tell you if your computer is a 32-bit operating system or a 64-bit operating system. --KantoEpic (talk) 01:30, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
So i just figured that out and i downloaded the 64 bit so what do i do now? And do i also have to download the szs track file too Arthur (talk) 01:35, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
You install Wiimms SZS Tools. Assuming you are a Windows user, click "windows-install.exe" and see if it installs. You will need the track once you get Wiimms SZS Tools working. --KantoEpic (talk) 01:48, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
I extracted it to my desktop then clicked windows-install exe and the folders in the wiimms szs tools are bin, doc, scripts, support, tmp and i have 2 text documents gpl-2.0 and install and after that i have sendto install and sendto uninstall then last i have windows install and windows uninstall so what do i click on i press windows-install Arthur (talk) 01:54, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
You click on "windows-install.exe." --KantoEpic (talk) 02:06, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Thats what i did but whats after that? Arthur (talk) 02:12, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Well, what happened? Did it install a "Wiimm" folder with some .exe files in the program files directory? --KantoEpic (talk) 02:34, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes here is what it did https://drive.google.com/file/d/19njNNXAVD3ECPnn7AKrjGpmP5FbgyGa-/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 02:52, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
That should mean it is installed on your computer. --KantoEpic (talk) 04:21, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
So what do i do after i do that if i want to make a road collision in a track boost Arthur (talk) 13:25, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Follow the steps in the previous message that starts with "Go to the directory of your track file and extract it with Wiimms SZS Tools (wszst EXTRACT <track name>.szs)." --KantoEpic (talk) 13:47, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Also what do they mean when they said "upscaled to 120%" when they update a track here is an example https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ATZHU6cCn_k_sdpNJn1R4unK9a9BpWXJ/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 14:00, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
It means a track's scale was changed from 100%/1.0 (the default scale) to 120%/1.2, making the track bigger to drive on. --KantoEpic (talk) 14:39, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
How would you be able to do that? With wiimms szs tools? Also is the directory of my track file the track i downloaded like for example Green Park and how would i extract it with wiimms szs tools Arthur (talk) 14:42, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
wszst PATCH --scale=<scale>.<decimal> <track name>.szs -o. For example, upscaling a track to 120% would look like this: wszst PATCH --scale=1.2 greenPark.szs -o. You can use Command Prompt, PowerShell or a batch file to use this command and the other ones I mentioned earlier, such as extracting track files; Wiimms SZS Tools is command line-based. --KantoEpic (talk) 15:05, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Im trying to upscale it now but do i use my command prompt for that? Here is what i did https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AVQ4RNtabkAbTGToRBpsGzs9Pd9hRj8x/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 15:19, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Remove the <tt></tt> parts. --KantoEpic (talk) 15:53, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
I just tried it again and here are my results did i upscale the track to 120% or did i not https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AW-0TSylxu2uHB7xqTbXTs64FomnFfq7/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 15:59, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
It worked. --KantoEpic (talk) 16:01, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
So that means its upscaled to 120% but i have to put 1.2% instead of 120% will it not work if i put 120%? Also i finally extracted the track file and here are the results https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AVcl8mIuZZyH7JIUUrcwvCscqZXrg-lS/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 16:03, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
1. You do not need the percent sign to make it work. 2. Yes, that is an extracted track file. --KantoEpic (talk) 17:06, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
What if i wanted to downscale it to 120% instead? Im not going to but im just asking just in case Arthur (talk) 17:15, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Do you mean reverting the scale back to 100%? If you upscaled to 120% and want to revert back to 100%, use "0.8" for the scale factor – it should be close to the scale you want. I did math in my head:
1.2 - 1.0 = 0.2
1.0 - 0.2 = 0.8
This applies to other scaling factors. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:42, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
ok thank you but anyway I just got Green Park v2.8a.boost1 to work and I also got Rooster Island v1.0+-boost1 to work as well Arthur (talk) 18:50, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Sorry, but we are not accepting replicated track versions on the pages. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:18, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Ok i but im just going to keep them for myself if thats ok and is it because of accuracy reasons? Arthur (talk) 20:54, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
It is fine if you keep them for yourself. I removed them for accuracy – what if a download link for MKW Hack Pack v3.0 resurfaces and the files you uploaded are different than the ones in MKW Hack Pack? In that case, what you uploaded would be incorrect. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:25, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Yeah i know i know the files i uploaded are the same as the version in MKW Hack Pack v3 but they are replicated Arthur (talk) 21:38, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
There is no definitive proof. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:56, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Also another question do you know what the name of this yellow object is in Nightmare to Dream World https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AjSl8MsqMLu0rsJBigba2TexBxtg-uci/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 22:39, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
I think that is a Gold Ghost from the Luigi's Mansion series. --KantoEpic (talk) 00:50, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
Ok because in MKW Hack Pack v3.0 Nightmare to Dream World v4.2.hp1 had that ghost but in the v3.14 update it was gone is there a way for me to put the gold ghost back? Arthur (talk) 01:16, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
There is no easy way to do it; you need to look into various KMP files and delete the removed objects. It would give you a headache. --KantoEpic (talk) 01:48, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
So the objects are the kmp files? And I don't want to delete anything I'm just trying to add the yellow ghost on the track on the same spot where it used to be Arthur (talk) 02:01, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
The objects are in the KMP file. It is possible to readd objects, but since what you want is route-controlled, it is trickier than something that does not use routes. --KantoEpic (talk) 02:26, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
How many kmp files are there? I only saw one because I downloaded Nightmare to Dream World and the only kmp file I saw was course.kmp and where would I find the gold ghost Arthur (talk) 02:47, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
Each track uses only one KMP file. --KantoEpic (talk) 03:28, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
But how would i be able to find the objects in the track and heres what happened when i opened it https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BgXQprtyitWKEI5nLgykTCvzIx89py6-/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 20:49, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
You need an actual KMP editor to check. KMP Cloud and Lorenzi's KMP Editor are highly recommended. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:58, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
Ok i downloaded kmp cloud and i have my kmp file so do i go to objects? I did and it just shows me black dots you'll see them in the picture https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BgiEQKvoaA0H3dniM_DgeH_mtXO5kxgh/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 21:08, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
That is correct. You can get a visual map of the track using the command wkmpt DRAW course.kmp --draw KCL. Then import the .obj file in KMP Cloud by clicking on ViewBackground: Import OBJ at the top. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:27, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
But what is the file name for the gold ghost object? Is there a way to find that out? Arthur (talk) 21:31, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
It is "cruiserR." --KantoEpic (talk) 22:05, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
Ok i got that but how do i add that file into the track and if i add it would it be in the same spot as usual Arthur (talk) 22:13, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
Copy the "cruiser" BRRES file from another Nightmare to Dream World track file, along with the subfiles in the "effect" folder, into your track folder. In the KMP, go to the "Object to add" part of the "Objects" properties section and add "cruiserR." The object itself must be in the same spot as it was initially. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:46, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
Im confused so do i copy the effect folder and the cruiser brres file only or do i not copy the effect folder and instead copy all the brres files that are in the effect folder and i put them into my other track folder and the track folder is the one i extracted right? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BqA2RDv6ALV6tmhYcQbtqHn8Bf2vFHY3/view?usp=drivesdk this picture is the other Nightmare to Dream World with the cruiser in it and i have another version that does not have the cruiser Arthur (talk) 01:11, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes, copy the "effect" folder and the "cruiser.brres" file to the other track folder. --KantoEpic (talk) 02:33, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
It also asks me for a Id but I just added the file in and clicked save now what do I do next because I need to go to my track file and make sure all that stuff that's in the track folder is in the track was file Arthur (talk) 02:47, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Did you make a route for the Gold Ghost object? If you did, I think that is all you need. --KantoEpic (talk) 03:34, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
What do you mean by a route and how would I do that Arthur (talk) 03:39, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
The object uses a route to move in a specific manner. You can see there is a "Routes" section in KMP Cloud. All you need to do is copy the route points from the secondary KMP file (the one you used as a reference) to your main KMP file, and then change the route setting for the cruiserR object from "FFFF" to the route value. For instance, if the route is "Route 5" or "Route 1F", you put in "5" or "1F" for that setting in the "Objects" section. --KantoEpic (talk) 04:44, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Ok so here is all the info about CruiserR and the route says 0018 and i looked at routes and saw route 18 do the mean the same thing? And i just copy one one route which is the route for cruiserR and i dont copy the other routes right? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CvAhpCz6UH2c3YlBFPtNkzePN_lORTXr/view?usp=drivesdk here is the info about CruiserR Arthur (talk) 19:43, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
It means the same thing. Only copy that route. --KantoEpic (talk) 19:54, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
So i copy route 18 into my kmp file? The kmp that im going to use? I press copy group, scale or import obj https://drive.google.com/file/d/1D0sRSXdGhPzX_iSF8LEloIC5t458hBI-/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 20:01, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
You can click "Copy Group" from the secondary KMP and paste it to the main KMP. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:08, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
So im on the main kmp now and there is already a route 18 there but i dont think its the one and i went to info about CruiserR and the route is FFFF Arthur (talk) 20:15, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
When you paste the group, it will create a new route group for you anyway. Use that one for the Gold Ghost object. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:34, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
So i can just paste it in route 18 and also for CruiserR in the main kmp file can do i just edit the route and put route 18 because it says FFFF for route or do i just leave it here is the what it says https://drive.google.com/file/d/1D4uko3oOelhD_FKX7pw8H_o9YsaQ476c/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 21:08, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Route 18 might be used for something else. To be safe, make a new route group. You need to change the "FFFF" value. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:31, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
And what about the others values like positions x and y and rotation z and scale x y and z and if i copy the route into route 18 do i delete the other stuff thats already there that i did not copy into there or do i leave it because when i copied it it didnt replace the original stuff in the route 18 it just added more and here is what im talking about do i keep or erase what is in the picture https://drive.google.com/file/d/1D8O2TyOJDGvd-spoqDsoWUCCU3DR1gvE/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 21:36, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Did you right-click on "Routes" and scroll to PasteGroup (Add)? This should add a new route group with the points, instead of adding points to a pre-existing group. You can ignore the other values for the object settings. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:43, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes I just did that now so what do I do next? Arthur (talk) 21:55, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Did it create a new route group? --KantoEpic (talk) 23:17, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes i believe so because when I looked at the numbers for route 18 it showed the same numbers it did for the other file so what do I do after that Arthur (talk) 23:19, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Did you change the route setting for the object from "FFFF" to the route you want to use? Otherwise, that should be it. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:21, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes I changed it to route 0018 Arthur (talk) 23:22, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Now you should test the track in-game. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:26, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
But the thing is is that i have files in the track folder that i extracted so how do i put all those files back into the szs file Arthur (talk) 23:27, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Go outside of the folder directory and run wszst CREATE <folder name>.d -o. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:30, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
So that will make it into an szs file? Arthur (talk) 23:31, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:34, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
I just tested it now and the ghost is not moving at all the ghost is added but its not moving its just in one spot is there a way to fix that? Arthur (talk) 23:40, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Something tells me route 18 is not working. Maybe this time you should use a new route group for the Gold Ghost and copy the route points from your secondary KMP file to the main KMP file. Here is something you can try: in your secondary KMP, highlight the points within the "Properties" section with your mouse, copy them using CTRL + C and paste them using CTRL + V to a new route group in the main KMP. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:57, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Like which route group should i use this time? Arthur (talk) 00:02, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
I meant to say route 18 from the secondary KMP is fine, but you should use a new group for the main KMP. --KantoEpic (talk) 00:08, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
I just got the track to work and the ghoat to move the same exact way it was in other versions of the track I just had to change the other values in the object settings that was the problem but thank you for your help Arthur (talk) 00:59, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
You are welcome. --KantoEpic (talk) 02:40, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
The next thing i want to do and i tried it yesterday but it didn't work so Volcano Beach 3 in MKW Hack Pack v3.0 had woodboxes but in the v3.1 update they got removed so im trying to put back the woodboxes in the same spot and i dont think it uses any routes so my main kmp file is v1.0.hp2 and my secondary is v1.0 so how would i add the woodboxes because i tried yesterday and nothing worked Arthur (talk) 19:51, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
The secondary track file needs to be upscaled to 120% (1.2). Since the track scale was changed, using the initial wooden box positions from v1.0 will place them in entirely different spots, which is something you do not want. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:00, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
How would they get placed into different spots? And Isn't the track already upscaled to 120% because v1.0.hp1 is so v1.0.hp2 must be Arthur (talk) 20:05, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
They get placed in different spots because once you scale a track, the positions are changed to match the new scale. Your secondary track file needs to be upscaled to 120% to have proper object positions, which you can copy to the main one you want to use. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:12, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
Ok so all i need to do is upscale to 120 and follow the directions that you gave me before i got it now i will let you know if it works or not Arthur (talk) 20:14, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
That should be it. There is nothing else you need to do. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:15, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
1. I just watched MKW Hack Pack v3.0 video on Magnetic city and in RC2.2 it says "removed many cars" and i also looked at RC2.2b and a lot of cars were missing so i think in the RC2.2b update it removed a lot of cars not in the RC2.2 update. 2. How do i down scale a track to 75.Arthur (talk) 21:20, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
1. Updated information. 2. Do you know the current scale? If it is 100% (1 according to the object scales), you use wszst PATCH --scale=0.75 <track name>.szs -o. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:26, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
Also when they said "removed special item boxes" were there any special item boxes in Magnetic City and how do you remove special item boxes also how do you find out what the actual scale is to a track? Arthur (talk) 21:34, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
1. Yes, there were three Star/Mushroom-only item boxes. You can easily delete them by highlighting them in the "Properties" section and pressing the "DELETE" key on the keyboard, or highlighting the specific item boxes in the "View" section on the right-hand side and pressing the "DELETE" key. 2. The object scales are a general indicator for a track's scale. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:58, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
So Magnetic City RC2.1 is 100% scale? And the item boxes were changed deleted Arthur (talk) 22:10, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:43, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
Also how do I add the trucks back to Magnetic City RC2.2b also i just watched the video again and A lot of cars were removed in RC2.2 so you might want to change that because there was only a blue car in the section where you turn left in the beginning and theres only a blue car normally there would be a red and yellow car too but there isn't and do I change or delete the special item boxes Arthur (talk) 23:32, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
1. Have a copy of RC2.1, downscale it to 75% and copy the truck objects and routes. 2. Yes, that was my thought about the cars. 3. Remove the special item boxes. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:55, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
Do i copy any folder from the secondary to my main track folder because the only thing i believe i should copy is "k truck" Arthur (talk) 23:58, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
Only "K_truck.brres" is required. --KantoEpic (talk) 02:30, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes I got the track to work before you responded Arthur (talk) 04:34, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
One question, so in Kirio Raceway v4.1.hp1 it says "fixed bean corners" what does that mean and how would i be able to do that if i wanted to Arthur (talk) 18:58, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
"Bean corners" are walls connected to the road, removing the ability to hop over gaps. They get their name from MrBean35000vr, as they are prominent in his tracks. I think PhillyG used the "lower-walls" script to remove them (download it here) – the command would look like this: wkclt ENCODE course.kcl --dest course_new.kcl --kcl-script lower-walls.txt --kcl drop. Make sure to have the script file in the same directory as the KCL file, delete the old KCL file and rename the new KCL file to "course.kcl." --KantoEpic (talk) 20:35, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
So i am trying to delete special item boxes in Gate of Dreams how would i know which item box is a special one and which one to delete Arthur (talk) 01:10, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
The item boxes that have the "Setting2" value set to something other than "0000" are "special item boxes." --KantoEpic (talk) 02:01, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
So do i change the value to "0000" or do i just delete it Arthur (talk) 02:10, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
Remove them. --KantoEpic (talk) 02:14, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
One question, so for Rush City Run Beta 3 I would like to make the mini map smaller at least the same size as the one in beta 4 but i do not want to rotate it do you know how i can do that Arthur (talk) 17:12, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
Use: wszst minimap --auto --scale 1.3 TRACK.szs. A scale >1 enlarges the viewed area, so the minimap becomes smaller. -- Wiimm (talk) 17:33, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
Would the minimap be just as small as the one in beta 4 because the map in beta 3 is a lot bigger and im trying to make it the same size as beta 4 Arthur (talk) 17:41, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
It should be around the same size. --KantoEpic (talk) 17:44, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
I just tried it and its even smaller so should i try a different command not 1.3 but like 1.2 or 1.4 for example Arthur (talk) 18:01, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:44, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
I already got it to work i just did 1.0 Arthur (talk) 19:25, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
Also i am trying to put a goomba in Coastal Island (YellowYoshi) RC3b because RC3 had it but it got removed in RC3b and RC2 does not have a goomba and i want it in a specific spot do you know how i would be able to do that? Arthur (talk) 21:59, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
You have to make a route that is roughly accurate to where it was, according to the drawn model from wkmpt DRAW. I do not know how fast the Goomba goes, so try to copy the object settings from another track. --KantoEpic (talk) 00:19, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
It was going about normal pace like in any custom track and the thing is is that the only version that has the goomba is RC3 but RC2 and the others dont have it so thats something i am trying to figure out how to do Arthur (talk) 00:23, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
I feel like I cannot help because I have no idea where it would be placed. --KantoEpic (talk) 02:08, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
I have a screenshot where it is placed and there was actually 2 goombas here is screenshot 1 and the black circle is where the goomba is https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MHsjjL-73nI6bHektsB65mEJhXAMlDpD/view?usp=drivesdk
Screenshot 2 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ML7CPeKSifoNDTu9LMjgOWHaJqBGemR5/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 02:29, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
Those Goombas more than likely go from one side to the other. --KantoEpic (talk) 02:47, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes they do but does it matter where i first put them on the dock and how would i do that Arthur (talk) 03:04, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
It should not matter. For both Goomba routes, you need to make three points for each group: one that goes from the left, to the middle and to the right of the part of the boardwalk they are on; where they actually start I do not know, so that is up to you which point they start at for either group. The heights (Y-values) can be copied from the enemy/item routes. --KantoEpic (talk) 03:24, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
Im on the kmp cloud now and i have my file and i have this so what do i do next?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MP96GAMoDGq0Vbt-Wmid2x5Ol3Jb_Vs5/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 04:06, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
ObjectsPropertiesObject to add:, then find "kuribo" from the menu and add it. You need to have two Goomba objects for what you want. Add two new route groups (RoutesAdd) and have three points for both groups that go left to the middle to the right of the boardwalk areas they appear in. Do not forget to reference the route groups in the object settings. --KantoEpic (talk) 05:15, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
Ok so i have this for kuribo 2 rows here i added the 2nd row and is that correct and what do i change in it? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Mkz16gQbbJ4eWXSlUeiZJdocFl-8KWr6/view?usp=drivesdk
And i am going to use route 12 and route 13 and here is what they look like so far so how what do i do next to the routes what to change here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Me1TNtZGiKmVvbH3_42ixzyjPFIqLD-G/view?usp=drivesdk
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MdqpwHdn7SW5ih40O1rM3mNpgMxmmHWK/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 05:41, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
1. You only need to edit the route references and object settings. The X, Y and Z-values are optional. 2. Add three points for each group, then move them to the boardwalk area within "View." --KantoEpic (talk) 14:26, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
1. Here is the kuribo file i have and i put route 12 for first one and route 13 for second one is this what it should look like and does it matter if i use route 12 and 13 or no
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1N9OuqSR-RXlb2uTSt3o6_UE5sORhzwUB/view?usp=drivesdk
2. I added 3 points for each route group and is this what it should look like?

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NBv8AfXlCNu3GlcsLKAGvM4znOjXBPxq/view?usp=drivesdk --Unsigned comment by Arthur (talk).
1. It should not matter; that looks fine. 2. Now you should move them within the "View" tab. Since these six points are in the same spot, the easy way to move them is to change an X or Z-value from "0" to a random number (like "1000") and then drag them on their respective boardwalk areas. Tip: you can right-click on the points within the "View" tab and edit the X or Z-values without going back to the "Properties" tab. --KantoEpic (talk) 15:45, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
I am on route 12 view and here is what it looks like and with position x, y and z they are all 0 so do i change them all to 1000
Here is what view looks like on route 12 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NFy9NwnWXDa6V7Kmcd-qEezibPV2nsaP/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 16:59, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
No because you will deal with the same problem of the points being on top of one another, resulting in the Goombas staying still at a random spot of the track. I suggested to use a random number for either the X or Z-value for the points because when you drag them anywhere with your mouse by clicking on them, the values (minus the height) get updated automatically. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:04, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
What about the black circles inside the blue box how would i know which one is the goombas Arthur (talk) 18:33, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
You only focus on the highlighted dots in blue. Also, you can zoom in and out with the scroll at the bottom, which should help. --KantoEpic (talk) 19:10, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
So the blue dots are supposed to be the goombas? Arthur (talk) 19:49, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
If you highlighted the "kuribo" object or routes 12/13, yes. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:10, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
So where do i start on first kuribo, route 12 or route 13 and i move the blue dots around and how do i find the dock Arthur (talk) 20:29, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
It is your choice. I think you forgot to use wkmpt DRAW course.kmp --draw KCL. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:36, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
I just did it and is this a good sign
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ndz-paxdgrWNRLMaeBNBl3H13TkDBRlu/view?usp=drivesdk and what is next? Because this is a little confusing for me Arthur (talk) 20:55, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
Move the route points to the boardwalk after you import the drawn model in KMP Cloud. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:06, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
So right now im just doing it step by step so first i extracted the szs file next i went to command prompt and did wkmpt DRAW course.kmp --draw KCL then 2 files appeared and 1 was mtl file and one was obj file now i am on kmp cloud on kuribo and in kuribo on both rows what do i change?
Here is an image of what i have for kuribo so what parts should be changed?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NlyC8Rx3CoQsHUz9tjrMR87IXq06ZB0E/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 22:29, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
Only the route references ("FFFF" → "0012"/"0013") and object settings you can copy from another track. --KantoEpic (talk) 02:00, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
I just changed the routes and what object settings do i copy from another track do i have the object settings already? If i do it then it would be different numbers and i think the numbers base on where the goombas go Arthur (talk) 23:26, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
Only the first three settings should be copied. Both Goombas can use the same values. --KantoEpic (talk) 00:02, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
Like what are the first 3 settings? Arthur (talk) 00:04, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
"Setting1" (respawn time after being hit with an item), "Setting2" (speed) and "Setting3" (animation speed). --KantoEpic (talk) 01:44, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
Ok so are those settings inside the kuribo file or in the route in kmp file Arthur (talk) 02:08, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
The "kuribo" object settings. --KantoEpic (talk) 02:51, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
Here is what i have for object settings
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1N9OuqSR-RXlb2uTSt3o6_UE5sORhzwUB/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 03:12, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
Scroll to the right. --KantoEpic (talk) 03:26, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
I am on the object settings now and it says setting 1, setting, 2 setting 3 and they are all 0s so what do i do for there and what is settings 4 5 and 6 Arthur (talk) 21:06, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
The Goombas in Mario Circuit use "0258" for Setting1, "0028" for Setting2 and "0078" for Setting3. Try these values. The other settings are unused and probably do nothing if you changed them. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:17, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
What do i do after that? Arthur (talk) 21:30, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
Did you set up the routes? --KantoEpic (talk) 21:39, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
Do you mean i have to go to the route 12/13 files? Because i put in kuribo for routes route 12 and 13 Arthur (talk) 21:50, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
Did you make the routes for the Goombas? --KantoEpic (talk) 22:54, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
Yes i did here is the photo I put route 12 and 13
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1N9OuqSR-RXlb2uTSt3o6_UE5sORhzwUB/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 22:59, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
I referred to the routes in the "Routes" section of the KMP. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:06, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
I added them but here is what they look like
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Pi6nETE3qD0eQJFkGmiEs9DOTAMKnFBR/view?usp=drivesdk
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PayNEIpep9Ys00xx0HLwnLuPqpc-40wr/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 23:12, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
Now you need to add points for these routes. Since they are empty at the moment, they will not work. --KantoEpic (talk) 00:56, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
How many columns do i add because in the picture there is zero because i need to add the column first i believe Arthur (talk) 01:15, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
Three points for each group. --KantoEpic (talk) 02:00, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
Ok i just did that and here are the results
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PzUUzsamxujSRPPOzRPJsWcMJ0HKB8UD/view?usp=drivesdk
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Q7Z3KqX81I4pczFsLAj4tX4L6R9-xlVL/view?usp=drivesdk
So what do i change for the 3 route points Arthur (talk) 02:17, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
Actually, I was wrong; Goombas use two-point routes instead of three. For routes 12 and 13, delete any one of the points for each group by highlighting a point in the "View" tab and pressing the "DELETE" key on the keyboard. After that, you need to change the point positions to be on the boardwalk. --KantoEpic (talk) 03:04, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
Ok so i just deleted one of the points for each one and position x, position y, position z, setting a and setting b are all at 0 and how would i change the point positions to be on the boardwalk Arthur (talk) 03:13, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
Drag the points within the "Properties" tab. --KantoEpic (talk) 04:02, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
But the route points for position x y and z are all 0s and setting a and b are all 0s to and would i drag the route points to my obj file in the track folder? Arthur (talk) 19:49, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
I meant "View", sorry. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:11, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
But what about the numbers? Do those get changed or stay at 0? Arthur (talk) 21:15, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
From earlier, "... when you drag them anywhere with your mouse by clicking on them, the values (minus the height) get updated automatically." The settings should be left alone. --KantoEpic (talk) 21:24, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
I am trying it now but i don't see a boardwalk anywhere and all it shows is this and i know the blue dot is the dot i want to move but it doesn't show a boardwalk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1R98DJoj56DQ3_eeZ-WJL5Nt7qX9TRbr-/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 21:32, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
Once again, you need to import the OBJ file from the "wkmpt DRAW" command. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:18, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
I just did that so now i need to click onto the obj file? Arthur (talk) 22:34, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
If you mean dragging the points to the boardwalk with the OBJ file imported, yes. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:45, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
So i click on obj importer in view right when open the kmp cloud and it says view background is that right? Arthur (talk) 22:49, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
Yes. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:34, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
I did that and it does not give me a picture of the map or boardwalk so how am i going to drag them there? Arthur (talk) 23:55, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
Did you use wkmpt DRAW course.kmp --draw KCL? --KantoEpic (talk) 23:57, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
Yes i did Arthur (talk) 01:11, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
Did you make sure to keep the scale to "1.000"? Did you make sure to import the right file? --KantoEpic (talk) 01:21, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
Yes so first i went to kmp cloud then i clicked view then i clicked obj importer now here is what i have https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ri4wonV6-8kBbqetXLIipAZ5ybb0NqR0/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 01:31, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
Click on the "Enable transparency (50%)" checkbox. --KantoEpic (talk) 02:02, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
I clicked on it so what do I do next Arthur (talk) 02:11, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
Now drag the points. --KantoEpic (talk) 02:50, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
The points in the obj file? But how do I get to the boardwalk i dont see it Arthur (talk) 03:01, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
You imported the OBJ file. Now you go back to the "Routes" section. The boardwalk area should be on the right-hand side of the map in "View."
On another note, I checked the KMP for myself. It looks like the previously used Goomba routes still exist on the track. You can use those instead to make your process much easier. The unused routes are "F", "10" and "11." --KantoEpic (talk) 04:10, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
I thought there were 2 goombas on the track but there are 3? And is that th only update rc3b had from rc3 Arthur (talk) 10:44, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
I do not know for sure, but I found those three unused routes. They should be the same routes used in RC3; I checked RC3b. --KantoEpic (talk) 13:49, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
How are we supposed to know that they are unused routes? And how do we know if they go with the goombas or not? Arthur (talk) 18:50, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
The routes are at the boardwalk area and did not exist prior to RC3. The heights look correct. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:52, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
So does that mean i have to use the wkmpt command or no? And do the routes say they were at the boardwalk area or no? Arthur (talk) 19:13, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
"The routes are at the boardwalk area ..." The OBJ file makes it easier to find certain track areas, but it is no longer required after what I found. --KantoEpic (talk) 19:32, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
Ok so i started over and i have routes f, 10 and 11 and i just added kuribo for an object and it came with one row so i clicked on "add" twice in the bottom and the only thing i change is route or i change position x y and z and i also change setting 1 2 and 3 to what you have told me before? Arthur (talk) 21:08, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
Change the route references. The object settings are as followed: "0258" for Setting1, "0028" for Setting2 and "0078" for Setting3. --KantoEpic (talk) 22:46, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
And i can keep position x y and z all 0s? And after i change all that am i done? Arthur (talk) 22:55, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
You do not need to touch those positions. You should be done after that. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:01, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
But do i need to add a kuribo szs file into my track folder? Because its not in there and a kuribo folder to the brasd folder or the effect folder? Arthur (talk) 23:09, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
That is the last thing you need to do. Add the "kuribo" BRRES file and then inside the "brasd" folder, add the "kuribo" folder. --KantoEpic (talk) 23:21, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
Where do I find these kuribo files/folders? Arthur (talk) 23:26, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/492840729429803023/982431899786022972/kuribo.zip --KantoEpic (talk) 23:53, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
It did not work, when i tested it there were no goombas Arthur (talk) 00:45, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Can I take a look at the track file/KMP? --KantoEpic (talk) 00:46, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Here Arthur (talk) 01:12, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Found the problem: I completely forgot the object positions matter for the Goomba object. Once I changed the positions to the respective first route points, they appeared. Here is the new file. --KantoEpic (talk) 01:39, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
It worked thanks and another thing i have is something about The Chamber the only thing want to change is one of the posters and i tried finding the poster file but i couldn't do you know how to do that? Arthur (talk) 02:23, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
It is somewhere in the course model. --KantoEpic (talk) 02:26, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
The poster i would like to fix is the mkw hack pack poster near the orange chain chomp balls and the poster is flickering and can not see the picture like in the v3.0 hackpack version how would i fix that? Arthur (talk) 03:09, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
I think you are looking for the texture named "kammer_facepoint_reduction-SKP--deko_jo_e" in the course model. It has an improper texture size, causing it to appear glitchy in-game. Re-encode the texture using BrawlBox/BrawlCrate, check off "Constrain Proportions" and resize the image to something like 256 x 256. This should fix the texture. --KantoEpic (talk) 03:18, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Also when I downloaded The Chamber v1.1 it came in a zip file and the 2 szs files were kinoko course (3) and kinoko course (7) do you know what that means? Arthur (talk) 03:33, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
It refers to the amount of "Dragon Ball" Chain Chomp objects on the track. --KantoEpic (talk) 03:45, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Ok but the thing about the glitchy poster is that in MKW Hack Pack v3.0 it was not at all like that but in v3.14 for some reason it became glitchy do you know why this happened? Arthur (talk) 03:53, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
The poster texture size might have initially matched the original dimensions (128 x 256) for v1.1.hp, but not in v1.2.hp1. That is the only explanation. --KantoEpic (talk) 04:04, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Also right now I'm trying to move the mkw hack pack image from v1.2.hp2 to v1.1 and I'm not able to do it Arthur (talk) 04:28, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Export the MKW Hack Pack image from v1.2.hp2, replace the questionable poster with the Blue Shell (you should know which one I am referring to; if not, it is "kammer_facepoint_reduction-SKP--deko_jo_e"), import the new poster to v1.1, and resize it before importing. It is a simple process. --KantoEpic (talk) 12:43, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Im trying to export the MKW Hack Pack image to downloads but it is not letting me do that Arthur (talk) 15:04, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Are you trying to export the image from BrawlBox/BrawlCrate? --KantoEpic (talk) 15:43, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
I do not have that installed yet Arthur (talk) 15:49, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Download it. --KantoEpic (talk) 16:35, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
I just did it and it worked Arthur (talk) 17:01, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Problem solved. --KantoEpic (talk) 17:28, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Now for 3DS Mario Circuit (ShadowLuigi-NG- & Sucht93a) i noticed that the main road has pink flowers on it in MKW Hack Pack v3.0 but version beta 1 of the track doesn't Arthur (talk) 17:42, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
It might be a test version of the track or some sort of edit. I do not know. The only thing you could do is edit the road texture yourself; otherwise, it is a lost cause. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:15, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
How would i be able to edit the road texture? Arthur (talk) 18:26, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Export the texture from the course model and use an image editing program like Photoshop or Paint.NET. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:36, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
I am in the course model but i can't find the texture Arthur (talk) 18:58, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
There is a texture with two asphalt roads. That is the one you want to edit. --KantoEpic (talk) 19:05, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Is it mc comb roadA? And is paint 3d the one i want to use? Arthur (talk) 19:11, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Yes, that is the texture. Paint 3D is fine. --KantoEpic (talk) 19:16, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Also for Sea Stadium in v1.0-pre it was in night and that version is not downloadable anymore and i would like to change the sky to black in v1.0 how do i do that? Arthur (talk) 20:03, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
All you would need is a sky texture that looks similar to what was used, but I do not know where it comes from. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:20, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Also for 3DS Mario Circuit how would i be able to add those pink leaves onto the road and here is what the road looks like for the pink leaves https://youtu.be/X_1-YzH2Ldw Arthur (talk) 04:40, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
Edit the road texture in your desired image editor. How to make the road look exactly like that, I do not know for sure. --KantoEpic (talk) 15:08, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
And do you know how i would be able to make the lap/time thing look like this https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U-7e5q9FchfQzdtj72GzZijatJLNuPAp/view?usp=drivesdk Arthur (talk) 16:01, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
The Race_*.szs files contain the "Lap" and "Time" textures you can replace. "*" refers to the game language; for example, if you had a file named "Race_M.szs", that is used for the NTSC-U Spanish version. If you are unsure which one works for you, refer to this page. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:51, 5 June 2022 (UTC)

I have one question about GCN Daisy Cruiser (Super-Daisy55) v3.1, so when I downloaded version 3.1 it contained a zip file and it has 3 szs files do you know what they mean by those 3 files Arthur (talk) 03:29, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

One file is based on the original version and the other one enables a few more routes to take. Ignore the "fail" file. --KantoEpic (talk) 04:26, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
Which file would enable the other routes? And does that mean one file has the left side blocked and one file has the left side open? Arthur (talk) 05:35, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
"v3.1" is the original version and "v3.1.alt" is the edited version. The edited version allows access to the left side at the start and a new shortcut after the moving table section. --KantoEpic (talk) 14:55, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
Ok i understand now but what is the fail file? Arthur (talk) 15:23, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
It has slightly different collision from the other "alt" file, according to Wiimms SZS Tools. The "fail" file more than likely has something that does not work properly. --KantoEpic (talk) 15:59, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

Also for Hell Pyramid in MKW Hack Pack v3.0 i noticed that it is a different version because the map is a lot bigger than in other versions Arthur (talk) 16:46, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

Forgot about that. Thank you. --KantoEpic (talk) 16:54, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
How did he center the minimap for it to be just like that? Arthur (talk) 17:22, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
wszst MINIMAP --auto *.szs --KantoEpic (talk) 17:29, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
It worked. Thank you and for Rush City Run Beta 3 in MKW Hack Pack v3.0 the minimap is a lot smaller than in the original Beta 3 Arthur (talk) 17:48, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
Thanks. --KantoEpic (talk) 17:53, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

The track Volcanic Skyway II v3.0 has a problem and the problem is that whenever I try to play it on VS or grand prix mode it shows the preview but the track would not load it will have a blackscreen but it works fine on time trial mode is there any possible way to fix this? Arthur (talk) 23:41, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

I think it is an intro camera problem? Not entirely sure. --KantoEpic (talk) 00:33, 13 June 2022 (UTC)

Do you know how I would be able to remove "AlParam" out of a track? Arthur (talk) 04:55, 20 June 2022 (UTC)

Remove the folder that contains the "AIParam" files. --KantoEpic (talk) 13:16, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
Thanks and there was a version of Glacial Bay in MKW Hack Pack that removed AlParam and the version is not there Arthur (talk) 17:17, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
AIParam removals are not considered as alternative versions/updates anymore. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:03, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
ok now I know why its not there but do you know why it is not considered that anymore? Arthur (talk) 18:13, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
When Wiimm collected tracks for his archive, he always removed AIParam. That changed either last year or earlier this year. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:18, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
Ok because when I saw District 65 v1.1 for example it still says "removed alparam" and removed lots of objects so there was 2 things there that got updated Arthur (talk) 18:23, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
That instance of "Removed AIParam" would stay because it is part of the update. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:28, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
So if a track gets updated and the only update it got is AlParam is removed it doesn't go in version history but if the update it got was alparam gets removed and something else it can go in the version history Arthur (talk) 20:34, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
Yes. It is the same case if an update changes the lap/speed modifier. --KantoEpic (talk) 20:38, 20 June 2022 (UTC)

In Red Loop there is something that says removed alparam how come we should keep it? Just curious Arthur (talk) 15:55, 25 June 2022 (UTC)

Wiimm has not collected the v1.0 file for his archive yet. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:23, 25 June 2022 (UTC)
