KMT File

Would it be possible to have a working KMT file available to download? I tried creating a file on my own and it didn't load properly in Mario Kart Wii. Do I need to make entries for all of the missions available? --TheZACAtac (talk) 7:37, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

Yes, it's not subject to any copyright and so anyone should be able to put one up without issue. I may put one up myself later, or if anyone else has a good dummy version, they could put theirs up. As for making your own, you really should create entries for every single level, even if they're just dummy entries, otherwise the game will try to read off the end of the file when accessing later missons. Though remember also, filling with all zeroes is bad because loading a KMT like that would result in many missions being Mario on the Standard Kart S, and that does not load.

Code Doesn't Work on Wii U

I tested on a NTSC-U Wii U and it doesn't work with Riivolution v1.06 ocarina codehandler. I've tried things like changing the patch ID in Riivolution, removing everything from my SD Card and adding everything back one by one, re-downloading Riivolution, trying with RiiFS, using different codes. Sometimes it even turns the entire screen green. Nothing worked and it still crashes right after the wrist strap screen fades out. *Fixed, Wii U wasn't the problem. -- TheLordScruffy (talk) 22:06, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

Codes were developed and tested on the AXNextFrame hook on Riivolution v1.04 and so they should at least work on that one. There shouldn't be any particular reason why they'd function differently on Wii U (or any other version of Riivolution or hook), I imagine your setup is somehow wrong, but I can't tell you in what way just based on that description.

Is it viable to use Miis in Missions?

There are a bunch of values for Miis in the total character values I have found for MKWii. I have tried a few of them (for Miis), but all I get is a black screen when selecting the mission (the mission works with other, non-Mii character). So, is it possible to use Miis on Mission Mode, and if so, do I need to modify something before trying the missions? Thanks in advance. --Sptran (talk) 22:45, 21 August 2017 (UTC)

KMT Confusion

So are all possible Mission entrys inside one .KMT file or is there a different .KMT file for each mission? --Wg93589 (talk) 21:47, 22 August 2017 (UTC)

The one KMT file (mission_single.kmt) covers all missions. It has many sub-parts that contain information for each individual mission. See the section about the file on the main Mission Mode page for more info!

3-4 and later crashing on code without KMT Patch [NTSC-U]

I have filled in every scenario (mostly dummy ones) on the KMT file and ran the NTSC-U code without KMT Patch and I've experienced the game crashing on later levels. I started every single mission in order to see which actual one crashes and it happened to be 3-4 and later levels that crashed when starting (I have not tested every level after 3-4). This happened on my own GCT, Riivolution XML, and KMT. I started Atlas & Wexos's Riivolution Patch for RMCE01 and the same problem occurred. I don't know if it's the code that runs it or it is just a problem with the NTSC-U version not being as finished but it's annoying that I can't expand farther than that. This does not happen on the KMT Patch code. -- TheLordScruffy (talk) 18:10, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

I've just tested on PAL, and yeah, missions 3-4 and up seem to crash. —Atlas (talk) – CT/MK8 Wiki Admin 18:51, 23 August 2017 (UTC)
Yep, and now I know why: The file mission_ui_single.bin in MenuSingle is missing some required data. Will document and make an antifreeze shortly. This clears up a few more mysteries about the mode!

Okay, documentation added, and antifreeze created. Feel free to try them out!

Any list of Character/Vehicle IDs?

Each entry has a character/vehicle ID, but there seems not to be any charts showing them. --iSYan (talk) 20:59, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

I have a list of them at https://pastebin.com/xvZf322G -- TheLordScruffy (talk) 03:39, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
Thanks :) How did you find them? This is simply out of curiosity, so I know more about the game. --iSYan (talk) 18:04, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
It's very probably that they were taken from different codes. The three last characters might be wrong, though. I would guess that instead M Mii, S Mii and L Mii they were meant to be three missing characters whose icons appear on some menus: Paratroopa, Hammer Bro and Petey Piranha, which finally remained unused. —Atlas (talk) – CT/MK8 Wiki Admin 09:12, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
Yea, I know about those characters, I'm making a distribution, so I might code something and make the models to bring them back in the game. --iSYan (talk) 18:04, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
