Overview

This Track is designed as a concept and demonstration of using Blender GIS to create a course that is a port of real-life terrain. The textures for the course itself is from Google Maps and the terrain/elevation is from NASA's Shuttle Radar Topography Mission version 3.

The track also is a concept for a 'route-less' race as the racer doesn't have to take any particular route to get to the finish (the top of the mountain/darkest spot on the minimap). The creator used slope of terrain to determine terrain type (steeper is heavier terrain, thus takes longer to get across) which the racer can choose to either cross directly or circumvent.
