Overview
Lap Texture Fix is a mod created by Wingcapman. This mod fixes the lap counters so that the ninth lap will show correctly, as well as a fix for the lap textures shown on the Time Trial results screen to show all laps (including the ones beyond lap three). Originally, Mario Kart Wii only goes up to eight laps, and textures for laps four to nine do not exist, which this mod fixes.
Instructions
There are two different downloads: one where all fixes are pre-installed for the Race-related SZS files, and one for standalone files. The pre-installed files are pretty much plug-'n-play; the user puts the files inside the My Stuff folder or simply replace the files in their ISO. This is perfectly fine for users who are not using any sorts of texture hacks or any other Race-related modifications. The standalone files require the user to recompile their own Race-related SZS files (as CTools can cause issues with those files, so it is recommended to extract all files with Wiimms SZS Tools instead). Use command wszst EXTRACT Race.szs to extract all Race files (wszst EXTRACT Race_X.szs to extract the files from Race_X (replace "X" with the language/letter the game is running on)). Once all the files are replaced correctly, then use command wszst CREATE Race.d -o and wszst CREATE Race_x.d -o to create a new SZS file.
Compatability
This mod is created to make it for an unmodified copy of Mario Kart Wii and distributions that do not have a modified lap counter. However, this mod does not support the Korean version for now. The Korean version uses a different file structure and a simple copy-paste cannot be done. This mod will get updated in the future so that the Korean version can make use of this mod as well.
