About the Warning

This edit is designed as racing track. So it is a custom track like all others and it can't be used to replace a standard track. And even if used as battle replacement, it gives you only disadvantages. So in my opinion, the earning can be removed. Same for other twins if this track. -- Wiimm (talk) 13:22, 17 October 2021 (UTC)

In my opinion, track edits that contain any gameplay changes in any way, shape or form should not be allowed, even if it gives you a disadvantage. Specially if those changes can interfere with the rest of the players, like in this case: giving a disadvantage to yourself in Battle gives you a better chance to lose the game, which incidentally affects all players' rankings within your team.

Then I ask differently: Velvet Plaza is a racing track. So what is the difference between Velvet Plaza and DS Test Circle when they replace an original Nintendo track? I don't see any difference. Then why is there a warning for Velvet Plaza but not for DS Test Circle?
I think, this warning is good if a track can replace another one of the same category (racing or battle) to give you some benefits. -- Wiimm (talk) 18:38, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
The fact that it becomes a track or battle arena is not clear-cut from the title. To someone who is a beginner to Mario Kart Wii modding, they may not know the difference between "Edits" and "Textures", let alone the fact that this specific one changes the mechanics. Many people simply come here to download, so having the big red warning message at the top is a good way to catch attention. It has been standard for all race swaps and battle swaps in the past (even MrBean's old Delfino Pier race edit has it). Trainiax/SwampyGator (talk | contribs) 21:51, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
My rule of thumb is: If a Nintendo track is used as a base, it should be blacklisted on Wiimmfi. Krummers(#1936) (talk) 20:49, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
