First of all, sign all comments you make on talks pages with ~~~~. Second of all, it's a glitch shortcut, not an ultra shortcut. If you bothered reading this article or knowing it saves only about 2 seconds, you'd know this by now. SNES GV2 does not belong in this article.

Sorry. And it has two parts of the shortcut, and skips more than half of the track.Perhaps you should see this: http://cleanvideosearch.com/media/action/yt/watch?videoId=_nhi6YPODpw Thanks.

Please do not repeat your signature mistake again... Use Show Preview Button to see if you did it correctly. Also, these are 2 glitch shortcuts. Still not an ultra, because neither of them skip half of the track on their own.

I need less than 20s for a normal round if using 2 mushrooms (non optimal one time test). A short cut must be clearly faster, especially if it is dangerous. In the video a round takes about 30s.

Jellopuff uploaded a video of a TAS with Baby Daisy and Quacker, supergrinding, bumping at the side of the ramp and clipping into a wall in the right to get out of bounds to make a new ultra shortcut possible. Unfortunately, it was uploaded on April 1st, which created confusion whether it's April Fools or not. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaW3H6sssvE BetaBleeds (talk) 07:07, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

Seems too much of an April Fools' Day joke. I would not add it to the page. --KantoEpic (talk) 13:32, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

Just to be accurate, how is "skipping half the track" defined? BetaBleeds (talk) 16:57, 20 November 2020 (UTC)

I think that defined an Ultra Shortcut in 2013. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! (Talk) 21:40, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
I went back to the article page and realised what you meant. I think it should be removed. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! (Talk) 21:43, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
Do all ultras have some form of bypassing the first key checkpoint in them? BetaBleeds (talk) 08:21, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Yes. That's the point of an Ultra Shortcut. Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! 05:48, 9 November 2021 (UTC)

Rainbow Road Multi-Player Ultra Shortcut

There’s also a multi-player version. Should I add that? Enjoy Funky Kong dancing and peace! (Talk) 21:40, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

This article is severely outdated

I have consulted the community about this article and the definition of Ultra Shortcut. These were the responses:

Ejay: "well first of all, it says it's "some sort of glitch",

which implies nobody really knows the technicalities behind why an ultra shortcut works (we know why it occurs)"

Ejay: "then it says "more than half the track,

we have never based ultra shortcuts off of a percentage of track skipped, this also implies that an ultra which skips 49% of the track isn't an ultra shortcut"

Ejay: "the only way to get an ultra shortcut is by skipping the first key checkpoint region whilst staying in checkpoint region 0

it's not the "most common method""

Yoshi: "smaller glitch shortcuts arent ultras

they go through all key checkpoints so that automatically rules them out"

Yoshi: "no dk summit and yoshi falls dont contain faults that follow the same patterns"

Aiden: "2012 probably referenced malleo’s “ultra” DKS tas"

Ejay: "rDS respawn has nothing to do with ultras"

I think these count as justification to update this article and "remove information". --Unsigned comment by BetaBleeds (talk).
