Textures

Can anyone help me with the textures? I don't know how to do texture mapping (In SketchUp) and I don't have the track's original textures.--CustomArio (talk) 10:38, 4 July 2014 (UTC)

You can't do texture mapping with Sketchup, as far as I know. You will want to use 3ds Max to do so (I don't know either how to do texture mapping). About the textures, you will have to edit/create from scratch other textures to recreate the original ones. --NewSuperMoiWii (talk) 11:09, 25 July 2014 (UTC)
In my newest model, I am using DS Rainbow Road textures, and I tried mapping them, but that looked absolutely dumb. Additionally, I've tried using 3ds max, but it expired as it was the trial version, and I don't want to pay for making CTs as well. The program was too expensive for me.
Well, you can divide your road into parts and then use the Position texture option to rotate, scale and move your texture to make it follow your path. However, it takes a lot, and sometimes it's quite imprecise (I don't know if 3ds Max can do it with more precision though) --NewSuperMoiWii (talk) 12:01, 25 July 2014 (UTC)

I had finally got TuruPaint to help me deal with texture mapping, but there's something cannot be explained with words. See below.

The above is the pictures as viewed in SketchUp. From up to down: road width is 1, 3000 and 4000 meters respectively. What happened to my textures?--CustomArio (talk) 14:48, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Thru Paint is a rather funky and somewhat hard thing to use. In order for textures to look nice, You want to make sure you do the texturing in small sections. I could be able to try to fix it if you want. I am not to good at describing how to work with Thru Paint. YoshiGo99 (talk) 19:28, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Also make sure you don't have scenes when you export the model to an obj. Apparently that was a problem that caused one of my courses to keep crashing when I tested it out. YoshiGo99 (talk) 19:31, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Are you still working on this track?

Are you still working on this? If not, I will be willing to take over the track for you. I could finish the model and do the textures for you.
