Update VS spin-off

@Wiimm if v3 is really a spin-off, then Red Loop would also be a separate article, as basically everything except the map layout was changed. Don't you think so? —Atlas (talk) – CT/MK8 Wiki Admin 18:41, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

It doesn't make sense, because it's an update, even if it looks different. The layout is exactly the same so there is definitely no reason to split this article.

First time I noticed this comment, so I'm late.
I think, the characteristics of the original track are lost with the last update. So for me it is definitely a spin-off and not an update.

Freeze in v3.1 and v3.1b

Both versions start with a black screen. Tested on slot 31 and 71 @ real Wii.

I originally gave Bladestorm an edited version of the track, which had KCL edits and a better water animation, but something must've gone wrong after that. I assume that he used BrawlBox to save the SZS file, which might be a factor as to why the track blackscreened. In the meantime, I'll have to wait for a response from him. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:37, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
Turns out that he didn't save the SZS file with BrawlBox. Regardless, we'll have to find a way to prevent the track from blackscreening. Unsure when it'll be released. --KantoEpic (talk) 18:50, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
Have yo changed the download of v3.1b? Because the current file differs from the previous one.
-- Wiimm (talk) 22:41, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
Bladestorm changed the download link. --KantoEpic (talk) 01:10, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
And the content! I will test the new v3.1b in the evening and rename the previous one to v3.1a. -- Wiimm (talk) 12:34, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
The newer 3.1b freezes too -- Wiimm (talk) 22:18, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
The new v3.1 should work properly from my experiences. Other people got it working as well. --KantoEpic (talk) 04:09, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
The issue is your version naming. You released in this order v3.1 (1), v3.1b (2), v3.1b (3), v3.1 (4) and all were different. This is confusing! I'll change the version to v3.1c to show, that this is a new file again.
I tested 1,2,3, but not 4. And 1-3 failed.
-- Wiimm (talk) 06:43, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
Thank you very much, Wiimm. I can still verify that v3.1 (4) still works fine, but if you want to test it for yourself, go for it. --KantoEpic (talk) 16:25, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
Yes, (4) works now. And then I downloaded 2 versions of (3) at 2 different computers. So I own now 5 versions of v3.1 series.

Awesome. --KantoEpic (talk) 00:42, 2 February 2018 (UTC)

Move page request

I suggest moving this page to Dry Coast (Bladestorm227) or merge with Putina's version page. —Atlas (talk) – CT/MK8 Wiki Admin 04:34, 7 May 2018 (UTC)

Renaming is ok, merging not because it is a really different track now with own history (that's why I called it "branch"). -- Wiimm (talk) 13:00, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
Two years late to the party but I think merging makes the most sense. It's not really a different track. In fact, the layout is almost identical and the textures are similar looking to the original, and the remake's version number starts at v3 instead of v1. I think it should be merged. Jcharlesk (talk) 23:23, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
I disagree. I think this should stay as it's own separate page. It's more of an alternate take on the original rather than a remake. For example, the boardwalk path is different, and it's missing some of the shortcuts the original had. If it were up to me, I'd have it to where all the remakes are on separate pages, but like I said that's just me. --Ptpix1 (talk) 00:12, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
