Zilla vs. ZillaSpaz

Shall I change now the author part of my track archive from "Zilla" to "ZillaSpaz"?
Wiimm (talk) 06:50, 5 May 2013 (UTC)

Yes, I'd like to be credited as ZillaSpaz. Thank you :D
ZillaSpaz (talk) 17:06, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
What about all your pages here on tockdom. Shouldn't they be moved from "<track name> (Zilla)" to "<track name> (ZillaSpaz)"?
NiAlBlack (talk) 18:04, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
Nope. Short name.
ZillaSpaz (talk) 18:05, 5 May 2013 (UTC)

Spam Pages

If deleting a spam page, please clear the "content was: ..." if the "Other/additional reason", because the spam should not be logged. -- Wiimm (talk) 08:57, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

Okay, I'll remember this.

Removing my Video

I don´t understand, why you removed my video Please can you give me more detail --9Horsti12 (talk) 16:56, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Probably because you said your video had better quality, that counts as praising a specific person's video. --MitsySueG24 (talk) 18:05, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
Do you ever click View History on any page or read the YouTube Video Guidelines?
-- Have a nice day, from ZillaSpaz 19:16, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
I had looked on the YouTube Video Guidelines and I looked often to View History on some page´s to see what the user are corrected

10 Month Rule

I was not aware that I had to contribute more information to my article every 10 months or it would face deletion. My mod is a finished product, and there is no new information to add. If this is not sufficient for inclusion in your wiki, then my apologies. Not sure what I did to offend your sensibilities, but I apologize that you find my mod offensive. --Roobitz (talk) 19:55, 20 July 2013 (UTC)

There wasn't a download (or it was removed) and nothing was done for 10 months, so I deleted the page. If you still want to host it here, remake the page and include a working download. I don't think there is a specific content rule about THDs, but some people found your THD offensive, so I'll leave that up to you or the rest of the staff to decide.

Retro Distributions

We had a List of Custom Characters/Vehicles and a List of Retro Characters/Vehicles-Page

What do you think about adding a new page for Retro Custom Track Distributions? --Horsti12 (talk) 16:28, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

Don't make this a thing. I'm not saying anything else on this subject.
-- Have a nice day, from ZillaSpaz 16:37, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

GCN Luigi's Mansion?

Hello, at the moment I'm in the process of creating a CT distribution mainly for my friends and I to play, with battle arenas. I checked GCN Luigi's Mansion and it said that you announced it a while back, but I wasn't sure if you were still going to port it, so I wanted to know if you were still planning on making it or not. Thanks in advance! Rookie (talk) 07:01, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

I had it planned and then someone decided to announce it for me, even though I had no plans to finish it right away and I still don't. If I do this, it probably won't be for a while. If you like, you can remove my announcement.
-- Have a nice day, from ZillaSpaz 07:04, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

name= entries

It is contra productive changing name=GCN Wario Colosseum to name={ { PAGENAME } }. If ever the page is renamed for e.g. to GCN Wario Colosseum (author), you must insert the old name again. Macros like PAGENAME are designed for include template.

Wiimm (talk) 09:03, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

I don't understand. If you move a page with {{PAGENAME}} to another page, wouldn't it automatically change to match the current page name? Or are you saying you prefer page titles in the table without the author?
-- Have a nice day, from ZillaSpaz 21:58, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
That's the problem: If you move the page, the moved pages shows a new track name. But the track name is stable. So it's useless to replace name=realname my the macro.
Wiimm (talk) 22:10, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
I know I do a lot of minor edits, but I don't think someone would move the GCN Wario Colosseum page to a page with a completely different name. If they did, we would probably catch that quickly and move it back. That said, I don't have a problem if you prefer to manually set up the title of the tables and you can change whatever I edited back to how it was before.
-- Have a nice day, from ZillaSpaz 22:14, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

gcn.png

Yes, gcn.png is a short title, but it is absolute descriptive, isn't it?

Ok, gamecube-console.png is more descriptive.

Wiimm (talk) 18:56, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

I don't have a problem with a GameCube picture being uploaded, but I would prefer a more descriptive name. For example, if I was uploading a picture of the console, maybe Nintendo GameCube.jpg would be okay. If I was upload a picture of the battle arena, I'd name it GCN Nintendo GameCube Battle Arena.jpg or something similar.

obakeblockSFCc

Hey ZillaSpaz, are you willing to share your knowledge about the objects obakeblockSFCc, obakeblock2SFCc, and obakeblock3SFCc? I could really need it right now and many other people might need it too.
NiAlBlack (talk) 20:02, 28 September 2013 (UTC)

Bump!
NiAlBlack (talk) 21:25, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
I'm absolutely sure that you've seen this, so why don't you answer? I really thought you were a good moderator. But what kind of moderator are you that you don't want to expand the Wiiki with helpful and general information? What would you have done without all the information on this Wiiki, you'd probably not be able to create any custom tracks. So you could give something back to all the other CT creators by adding information about how to use the objects obakeblockSFCc, obakeblock2SFCc, and obakeblock3SFCc, especially as you seem to be the only one who knows how it works. Of course I could try to find out how it works on my own but that would take a lot longer which makes in unnecessary. Imagine everyone had to find out how to make CTs on their own, only MrBean and Chadderz and maybe Wiimm would be able to create CTs. In case you are such an awful moderater that you are still not willing to share information you could at least tell me instead of not answering. I may also annouce that I'll bump this every time I saw you editing a page.
NiAlBlack (talk) 08:54, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
Wooooah easy there friend. I'm not sure why Zilla hasn't responded to this yet, but I assure you he's just as dedicated to the wiki and sharing of knowledge as anyone else here. I know that in recent days he's been busy finalizing everything for N64 Koopa Troopa Beach so he could have just forgotten to reply to this. At any rate, I don't want you to feel as though any of the moderators here are letting you down, we all do our best to make sure that this wiki is as helpful as it can be for all of our developers. With that said, I will contact Zilla via the official CT moderator Skype group and get back to you as soon as I have anything to report back with. Thank you for your patience. -- WorldsBoss (talk) 10:07, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
They're hard-coded to work within certain X and Z coordinates (Y possibly too). Check the original SNES Ghost Valley 2 or any SNES Ghost Valley 1 KMP with falling blocks to see. That being said, however, this could greatly limit a Custom Track's (or section's) size/location. Have fun.
-- Have a nice day, from ZillaSpaz 16:51, 5 October 2013 (UTC)

Thanks a lot! I'll add this information to the objects list soon. I'm also gonna inform Wiimm to update this on his webpage. Also, I'm really sorry if I offended you somehow, it was just frustrating not to recieve an answer for almost one week. Just one thing: Is there a reason for having 3 identical objects? Do I have to make use of them in a special way?
NiAlBlack (talk) 18:37, 5 October 2013 (UTC)

idk

Track Feature Request

DS Mario Circuit
It's too small for karts. Scaling about 1.2 (estimated factor) could be good.
DS Luigi's Mansion
Out team miss offroad for the mud part. At the moment there is no reason to use the ramp in the right of the mud.

Wiimm (talk) 08:38, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

I will update DS Mario Circuit in the future with a bigger scale. I'm sorry, but I will not change DS Luigi's Mansion's mud to off-road. It was designed to be a simple course. You may modify either course for your Distributions, however.

DS Airship Fortress edit

Is it ok for you, If I edit DS Airship Fortress (Zilla) to fix the pos bug?
Wiimm (talk) 14:09, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

I am planning a future update, but it may take a while. So yes, you may release any edits you make as Beta 2, but I'd like to correct some things in the model too. Do you want to make the edits first and send me them or do you want me to make the model edits first and send you that?
-- Have a nice day, from ZillaSpaz 21:04, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
Then the best is, that you make your edits and try to fix it by your own using the new quadrilateral model. And I fix some other tracks first.
Wiimm (talk) 21:48, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Question about ported tracks' scale

Hello, Zilla. I wanted to know what percentage up-scale do you use for your DS ports? I ported a model from Mario Kart DS, and I wanted to use the same scale that you used on your DS ports. Thank you. :) Quajeek99 (talk) 23:16, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

It would've been nice if you replied... it could've been some useful information. Not only for me, but for many others as well. Since you aren't as active in CTs as stated on the talk section below, I could understand why you haven't replied. --Quajeek99 (talk) 01:27, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
I skimmed over this, but the truth is that I don't remember.

Missing You

Hi Zilla, what's happened to you? -- Wiimm (talk) 22:03, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

I'm not interested in making CTs now, so I haven't been as active.
--Have a nice day, from ZillaSpaz 03:57, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
That`s pity. I have for two days ago ask me the same question. What is with Zilla?? Where is he. I wish you a good time and i am happy if you come back soon. --Snake 06:05, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

Super Mario Kart Wii

hi. First very nice that you are back! :D
Can I use your SNES tracks for the pack?
Which music slot and special slot do you requeste for SMKW?
Is it okay when I use a boost version of your SNES tracks?
Can the tracks have 5 Laps and 1.2 Speed?
Thanks for your answer --Horsti12™ THE Clouddealer (talk) 18:22, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

There are no restrictions for any of my tracks. They can be in any pack with any modifications, as long as you do them yourself. Use whatever slots you want.
--Have a nice day, from ZillaSpaz 19:46, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
Ok Thank you
--Horsti12™ THE Clouddealer (talk) 19:49, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

Confusion

What I don't understand is how the tracks you updated on the 8th are said made on a totally different date...

How come it's not the 8th for each track article? I don't get it... --Michael (talk) 17:55, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

The date I created the files and the date I released them on the Wiiki are completely different.
--Have a nice day, from ZillaSpaz 18:30, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

What do you mean?

in the recent changes it says "failed the test" what do you mean by failed the test? Soarin MKWII (talk) 22:21, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

can you please be more specific about your edits on my track? you still haven't answered my previous question and now you make an edit and say "funny" what goes on in your head is currently beyond my thinking, but it just confuses me how you guys would give me crap for not finishing a ct and now i do... and literally nothing has changed. what exactly have i done wrong this time?
Soarin MKWII (talk) 04:30, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
Well he changed the layout (overview should go over progress) and deleted the text stating something wrong "The translations for this track as they appear in CTGP Revolution:". First your Track isnt in the CTGPR (afaik) and secondly the translations are not only for the CTGPR but for all Distributions which are translated.
Also there is a "diff" button to see the difference.
Tock (talk) 04:57, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
Thanks. Also i do know what the diff button does but im not very good at spotting differences. as for the translations as seen in CTGP-R i just copied the box from someone elses page and put it there (of course deleting the translations from the table).
Soarin MKWII (talk) 05:14, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
"[[Category:Delete]] <!-- To test your competence, delete this complete line (Category:Delete). -->"
You were supposed to delete that line. You didn't. Also, indent your signature too. Also also, don't overreact to everything.
--Have a nice day, from ZillaSpaz 06:27, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
Hold on when was I overreacting? I was just asking a simple question because I didnt understand your edits Soarin MKWII (talk) 06:32, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

Permission

Hi. I would like permission to use 5 of your tracks in my distribution. They are all from Mario Kart 64. Please reply when possible. MilesProwler5x5 (talk) 8:05, 15 February 2014 (EST)

Rip a DS track for me?

The MKDS Course Modifier wont download on my computer. whenever i download it the .exe gets deleted and i cant open it or restore it. I know you do DS ports so would you be able to rip Dokan Course for me? Soarin MKWII (talk) 22:05, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

Translation table

Why you removed the "The translated names for this track as they appear in Super Mario Kart Wii" from the translation table? --Horsti12™ THE Clouddealer (talk) 19:50, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

The translations are for everyone. Why CTGP gets this is because they sometimes change the name (3DS courses).
--Have a nice day, from ZillaSpaz 21:56, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

Skype

If you have Skype, can you please tell me? I am currently on working a track is top secret until it's finished, and I need someone to help me with KMP. --Michael (talk) 23:26, 15 March 2014 (UTC)

Mistakes

Sorry for having wasted your time with my typos.-Dswii3ds (talk) 15:51, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

My apologies

Hi Zilla, I am sorry for editing my sunset rocks page multiple times in a 15 minute period. I had not read the rules on this wiki when I did that. I promise I will use the show preview button the next time. Also, sorry for my grammar mistakes. I am not really good with English. - JorisMKW 12:24, 16 July 2014 (UTC)

Video about a bug

I recently discovered a glitch in a ct. I used a speed hack to be fast enough to clip through a wall and finish the lap. Should i add it as a glitch video ?-Dswii3ds (talk) 16:15, 2 August 2014 (UTC)

User Link

I request my user link page to be moved from Link to just link. Even though I could do it myself, I thought it would be more proper to ask you.
--Michael (talk) 10:36, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

Every other User link that ended with link has been moved to Link, so moving yours would go against consistency..
--Have a nice day, from ZillaSpaz 11:44, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
Oh, I understand...and my last edit was on a phone so that's why there was many format errors... --Michael (talk) 17:25, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

Status???

Hello ZillaSpaz. I don`t know or some people don`t know what happend. Did you quit MKWII?? Or did you make a break?? I have long time no hear from other good creators too at last time. Ermelber and other too. I hope you and the others don`t understand me wrong. But it is very stranged and i have that feel the wiki is going dead slow. --Snake (talk) 16:46, 13 October 2014 (UTC)

Incorrect Links

Your user page (under the Various Plans section) has the pages N64 Wario Stadium, DS Mario Circuit, and 3DS Wuhu Loop linked to the disambiguation pages rather than your version's pages. --Michael (talk) 00:17, 16 November 2014 (UTC)

I believe Zilla has left the wiki and MKWii, because no one know where i he is. He has nothing say and didnt answer. Sorry for you and some others. It is very pity. I think not really he come back ever. Maybe. Who know this. --Snake (talk) 10:58, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Can you help me? Jax53000VR (talk) 22:06, 25 February 2015 (UTC)Jax53000VR

No i cant. Sorry. I am not a CT creator. I only test tracks and report bugs or other things if i think something is bad or unneeded. You should ask a CT Creator for help. We should talk this in a another page, and not here. It is spam in my eyes on Zillas page. --Snake (talk) 10:58, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Versions

Why jumping from v1.1 to v1.11 and not using the values between (1.2 to 1.10)? (I know, that you only append a new digit. ;)
I think that no tracks needs a 2 digits number and so 1.2 is the best. It makes also the name for online display 1 char shorter (limit is here 43).

Wiimm (talk) 14:03, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

The main reason is so that I don't take up a potential one-tenth of a digit for an official update by the author; maybe the author wanted to make a v1.2. v1.2 sounds more official than v1.11. The smaller number should imply it's a really small update and it may not be from the main author. Also, if I mess up or have to do another version, it would just be v1.12. If not v1.11, I'd probably do v1.1a instead, but I prefer to just use numbers. If you want, I can switch to letters in the future. Just for future reference (because I am updating a track with this version style), I won't do a RC1.1. I'll just make it an RC2. Do you really prefer that I just make v1.2 for now on?
