I've added a new category titled <nowiki>[[Category:Misc-Info/No WBZ ID]]</nowiki> to help maintain the archive better. I was wondering if it would be possible to have a bot parse all tracks in that category that are also in <nowiki>[[Category:Track/Custom]], [[Category:Track/Import]], or [[Category:Track/Retro]]</nowiki> to get a full list of all tracks that don't have an entry on the archive yet. CT Archive

Closed requests

I've got a question about which types of tracks get into your CT archive. Only 4 texture hacked custom tracks are in the archive (Search). Does this mean all texture hacked custom tracks get into the archive or are those 4 just exceptions? Also, track edits of Nintendo tracks and custom tracks are also not on the archive (Search), only one edited Nintendo battle arena, which is very odd to me. Are you planning on adding track edits to the archive or leaving it as it is now? 🏁_____🎄______🚗_____🎄 Krummers (talk) 09:49, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

There are more than 4 texture hacks included. Anyway, I collected and will collect only custom tracks. Texture hacks are exceptions, most added by accident. And once included, they will stay. -- Wiimm (talk) 14:01, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

Hi Wiimm, I noticed the v2.3.le update of Pipe Underworld (ChaosShadow23) is not in your CT archive yet despite the update being out since the end of November. Is there any chance that update would go in to your CT archive, because I thought you missed that update. -- Octanevinny (talk) 13:26, 16 December 2020 (UTC)

Added. Thanks for the hint. -- Wiimm (talk) 23:06, 16 December 2020 (UTC)

Hi, I found that Thunder Canyon v1.2 (id 8315) is marked as arena, not sure if it is intended Cealgair (talk) 19:51, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
I also found Thunder Canyon v1.2 has not got "1lap" written next to it in wiimms ct archive, was it because MarkAlbertsma03's update somehow went back to 3 laps. --Octanevinny (talk) 2:19, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
Both Fixed. -- Wiimm (talk) 13:27, 22 December 2020 (UTC)

Hi, I found that Colliding Dimensions and 10 Jumps to Victory are not in Wiimms CT Archive, will those two tracks go in the CT Archive sometime. -- Octanevinny (talk) 10:35, 29 December 2020 (UTC)

Added! -- Wiimm (talk) 12:48, 29 December 2020 (UTC)

ID 2949, 4348 and 8421 have spelling mistakes in their name. endless is written with two s's. It's just a small thing I noticed. 🏁_____🎄______🚗_____🎄 Krummers (talk) 12:42, 30 December 2020 (UTC)

Fixed with the next update. -- Wiimm (talk) 13:17, 30 December 2020 (UTC)

Hi, I see that Beta 3 of Purple Peaks is not in Wiimms CT Archive, will it get added into the CT Archive because I thought that version was missed because the update's been out since June last year. -- Octanevinny (talk) 15:26, 2 January 2021 (UTC)

Hi and happy new year, I've noticed that only the _d file in family 2082 (DS Donkey Course) is marked as "select". Cealgair (talk) 15:45, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
Also, the version numbers of DS Tick-Tock Clock (Rukasudo90 & burikillo) don't match with the ones in family 1183. Cealgair (talk) 17:40, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
fixed. -- Wiimm (talk) 12:18, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

Canyon Waterfalls, Fall Flash 1, and Spectral University all appear to have been missed. Trainiax/SwampyGator (talk) 15:05, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

Spectral University missed because of password. All 3 added now. -- Wiimm (talk) 15:20, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

In addition, SH Casino Park needs its name corrected and you should probably add it to music slot A1.4. Over the weekend I will prepare another .zip with the rest of the CTGP tracks missing from v1.03.0058. Kanto (or anyone else, really) feel free to add any I missed. Trainiax/SwampyGator (talk) 22:21, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

I see that Casino Park got the music slot added, but it is still named "Casinopark Course." Is there a reason for this? Trainiax/SwampyGator (talk) 04:11, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
Fixed with next update. -- Wiimm (talk) 13:57, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

Feel free to add versions of tracks that I uploaded recently when you can (plus one from a while ago, which is marked with an asterisk): Fully Completed

How should I handle these inquiries going forward? Should I send you private messages through Wii-Homebrew instead? Let me know what would be ideal. --KantoEpic (talk) 03:29, 3 January 2021 (UTC)

The wiki has higher priority for me. Sending the files as ZIP makes less work for me. So I prefer the second one. -- Wiimm (talk) 12:18, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
Tracks added some days ago. -- Wiimm (talk) 07:24, 16 January 2021 (UTC)

In addition, Family 4270 should have author "TokukuMKW+Riidefi", Kinoko Cave RC2.boost should be marked as class "boost", Hman's Minigames should be "v0.1", and Sandstone Cliffs Beta should have "r31" not "313". -- Trainiax/SwampyGator (talk) 17:01, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

Canyon Run: Beta2.hp1 and Beta2.wp are the same. -- Wiimm (talk) 13:57, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
Renamed the preexisting MKW Hack Pack versions accordingly. I removed the initial version that ended up having the same content as the version from Wine's CT Pack. --KantoEpic (talk) 14:25, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

Here is the list of tracks I found that currently need to be added to Wiimms CT Archive: Not Completed

For more tracks/track versions that I have missed, feel free to add them. -- Octanevinny (talk) 10:17, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Menu/Race Character Length

I was told by Trainiax that the character limit is 32 for menus and 64 for race/battle previews, not 41 for either one of them. I am not sure which one is true. --KantoEpic (talk) 01:19, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

Are you refering to the maximum amount of characters in a track name (in the track selection and in the race preview)? If so, Trainiax might have tested with LE-CODE / MKW-Fun, where we increased that limit in order to make that work with longer track names. -- Leseratte (talk) 05:50, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
Spot on. --KantoEpic (talk) 06:22, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

SBK ambiguity

Hi, I found that SBK can mean both Snowboard Kids and Super Baldy Kart, the former being an N64 game and the latter a Super Mario Kart ROM hack. Four tracks from the ROM hack are labeled on ct.wiimm.de as tracks from the N64 game, i.e. Egypt A and B (families 7966 and 7973) and Tropics A and B (families 7991 and 7992). I don't think it's a big deal. I don't know how easy this would be, but there could be a new keyword for tracks from SNES ROM hacks to include all of these tracks plus some others like SNES Rainbow Road 2 (family 4862), which is currently labeled as just a Super Mario Kart Track, and a whole lot of other tracks by Retrostyle12 in general. Or maybe another fix would be to just remove the prefixes SNES and SBK from those paricular tracks (or maybe treat them as part of the name?). Cealgair (talk) 12:08, 23 December 2020 (UTC)

Good point! I want to discuss 2 solutions:
  1. Because SBK Ninja Land is the oldest track, we should use another abbreviation for Super Baldy Kart, eg, »SUBK« or »SBKA«.
  2. »SBK« seems to be a natural abbreviation for Super Baldy Kart, and »SK« or »NSK« or »SK64« for N64 Snowboard Kids.
Renaming on ct.wiimm.de or changing the prefix description is done very fast. Until now, all abbreviations have been chosen with care. But this is a common job for admins and mods — I will follow the decisions here until they are clear and full of logic.
I ask the other moderators for this!!
-- Wiimm (talk) 13:26, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
"SBK Ninja Land" should be renamed to "SK64 Ninja Land" in this case. --KantoEpic (talk) 14:26, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
I agree, this is probably the best way to handle it. Another way to possibly handle cases such as SNES Rainbow Road 2 is the way Cuberluigi CT Pack handled it, being "CSNES" (Custom SNES). Although personally, I think that it's fine to leave it at just SNES. Trainiax/SwampyGator (talk) 16:49, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
I added the choice »SK64« (for "SK64 Ninja Land") later and it's my favorite now. So I'll change the pages. I think, best is to leave the redirect to support external references. -- Wiimm (talk) 17:43, 23 December 2020 (UTC)

Old CTGP Tracks missing Wiimms CT Archive link

Hi, I have seen there are some old CTGP tracks that currently do not have CTGP links to Wiimms CT Archive, such as Mountain Path, Love Circuit, Riverview Square, Rocky Cliff, Volcano Beach 3, Lavaflow Volcano II, GCN Baby Park (Tock) and Strobenz Desert. Will those CTGP tracks get the Wiimms CT Archive links sometime. Since most of the CTGP tracks are getting Wiimms CT Archive links currently. -- Octanevinny (talk) 01:50, 31 December 2020 (UTC)

I can't follow you. Example Mountain Path: The wiki page contains 3 versions and ct.wiimm.de an additional ctgp version. Where is the missed link? -- Wiimm (talk) 12:18, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
I actually meant the CTGP links for most of those tracks do not have CT distribution links yet in ct.wiimm.de. I was referring to the CT distribution, not the WBZ files. By the way, Kanto did Mountain Path yesterday. -- Octanevinny (talk) 05:54, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
When a track is added to the archive, it's SHA1 is checked against all existing distributions and if they match a link is created. Since I literally took those files from v1.03.0058 of CTGP, I think that the issue is with the distribution.txt submitted for the old CTGP versions, and they'd need to be remade.
