Stop the Edit War

Stop the edit war in CTGP Revolution‎ and explain, how you have discovered the speed info.

Wiimm (talk) 17:52, 25 January 2014 (UTC)

The Tracks used normal speed (1.0) so it must stay, only if you didn´t know a information than you should add the ndash thing.
--Horsti12™ THE Clouddealer (talk) 17:57, 25 January 2014 (UTC)
Once an edit is undone by another user, take it to discussion and give the mods a chance to look it over. This isn't the first time you've been involved in edit warring, please don't let it happen again. --Jefe (talk) 18:55, 25 January 2014 (UTC)
Sorry for the late answer.
Sorry I didn´t want that, but I thought that I can discuss it with him private. --Horsti12™ THE Clouddealer (talk) 19:20, 25 January 2014 (UTC)
That's not private business. Please discuss it always at the related discussion page.

Wiimm (talk) 10:30, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
Again kind of an edit war with Wiimm. You should learn the difference between canceled and "won't be updated anymore". Something released can't be canceled anymore. Also it's basic knowledge that you should not undo a reverted edit a Mod did if you don't want to be banned.

StatiR.rel

Can you email me the StaticR.rel file for my region? My email is [email protected]

Ok --Horsti12™ THE Clouddealer (talk) 22:03, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

DKW for CTGP v1.03 page

Why did you undo my edit? It is a texture hack distribtion. Then you said, Type is for if it is Riivolution, ISO Patcher or My Stuff folder, BUT the My Stuff folder is a feature in Riivolution. You could put "Riivolution" in Type then instead. Now compare it with SpyKid's CT Pack. All files are in a "My Stuff folder" as you call it, but it still is listed as Riivolution/Custom Track Distribution. So, putting My Stuff Folder as a Type doesn't make sense for me. I'm going to undo your edit again.--Buschkling (talk) 19:31, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

The pack was created for CTGP-R v1.03. You must put the files into the My Stuff from CTGP-R, so the type is My Stuff Folder.
Riivolution is wrong, because there is no xml file and you can also use the pack with the ctgp-r channel (My stuff) --Horsti12™ THE Clouddealer (talk) 19:37, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
Ok, because My Stuff is a feature in Riivolution and CTGP-R (I forgot about that in my post), I put "My Stuff Folder for CTGP-Revolution" as type on the page. In the overview I wrote that it's a Texture Hack Distribution instead.--Buschkling (talk) 19:42, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
Not only CTGP-R use the My Stuff Folder and I have already a overview text from darkybenji. --Horsti12™ THE Clouddealer (talk) 19:47, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
I just said exactly the same in my post before about the My Stuff folder. I am aware that CTGP-R and Riivolution use it. But 'DKW for CTGP v1.03' is a My Stuff folder for CTGP-R only, and even you said that it won't work with Riivolution.--Buschkling (talk) 19:59, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
Another thing I will add: I didn't download the file and looked what it is, I just made my edits based on what you said. You said "Riivolution is wrong, because there is no xml file"... I asked Zilla and this is the conversation:
Zilla: what is DKW? a My Stuff download?
Spykid: According to Horsti, it is that, yes
Zilla: then it's a Texture Hack Distribution, no questions asked.
--Buschkling (talk) 20:05, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
Yes it's a Texture hack distrbution, but type means type how do you play the hack and not what type of the distribution.--Horsti12™ THE Clouddealer (talk) 20:10, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

We have 2 types. Riivolution and ISO Patcher (and variations). It's very easy to grab an existing .xml for a My Stuff folder and play this via Riivolution. In fact, you can use any My Stuff folder with CTGP-R. It's not that hard.

Rush City Run CTGP-R version

I would be glad if you could give a proper explanation why you think the CTGP-R version of Rush City Run is Beta 2 and not Beta 3 instead of just commenting "no" -- Maczkopeti (talk) 18:11, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

Very easy, Wiimm improved the respawn points, so in beta 3 you respawn faster when you fall down. --Horsti12™ THE Clouddealer (talk) 18:15, 26 February 2014 (UTC)
I checked the respawn points of the CTGP-R version and they're the same as the ones from Beta 3 -- Maczkopeti (talk) 18:40, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

Super Mario Kart Wii

I noticed that this is only available in PAL. I have an NTSC version of the game; maybe I could help with menu translations? Miles5x5 (talk) 02:39, 28 February 2014 (EST)

ATM only Pal, but in v1.0 compatible with all systems.

Custom Track Regions

Do you really need 300 regions? Why do you divide your regions by distributions before you guys even released it? Even 100 regions would be unnecessary in my opinion because we have over 60.000 regions and you can reclaim other free regions if those "100" are not enough. About the dividing into different distributions before the release: look at how Wiimm does it. Of course I cant force you to not use 300 regions but just think about it how Wiimm does it.
Tock (talk) 11:16, 15 March 2014 (UTC)

We will use for every update a new region. The other regions are for tests.
I only reserved so many, because 60.000 are possible.
Horsti12™ THE Clouddealer (talk) 11:31, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
My point was that if you need more you can claim more afterwards. You have reserved the highest amount of regions for Distributions without releasing more than one. And like i said you can always claim more if you need more afterwards.

Wiiki Rules / Moderator Messages

There is no need to change signatures on every talk page after a name change. That's what a redirect is for. Also, if someone else wants a name change, they need to request it personally. This is to prevent potential abuse. --Jefe (talk) 21:26, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

Why do you return the Region?

Region 100 is a Region that has not been used really. Yet Why do you return? AC (talk) 12:30, 16 September 2014 (UTC)

Pro CT Pack v1 is released with that region, so the region is in a pack, what means that the region is NOT free. --Horsti12 (talk) 12:32, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
Are saying Huili and does not require the Region.
AC (talk) 12:53, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
That region is already taken by a CT pack or a previous version of a CT pack. Therefore you cannot reuse that region. --Torran (talk) 14:14, 16 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi Horsti12, I view your remakes in this Wiiki and I join in your Team. If you accept, write me on skype: Diddy Kong. --DiddyKong (talk) 04:19, 02 January 2015 (UTC)

Yeah sure, I already sent you a skype request yesterday. I hope it was the right account. The best think would be when you add me (thehorsti12) --Horsti12 (talk) 16:55, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

Template field removals

What made you decide to remove the "editors used" field from a huge number of pages? Did you discuss this with anyone before proceeding? --Jefe (talk) 20:15, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

Check the edits from maczkopeti
so I decided myself to help him to remove the =editors used part of the Template:Misc-Info and when I will ask a moderator, than it will takes days or even weeks.
I have a lot of plans to make the Custom Mario Kart Wiiki to a much better Wiki, one plan was to build a script which automatically compare the translations on List of Retro Tracks from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!/Translation and the track translation page and than change them, so both sites use the same translations. I asked one of the moderators 2 months ago about it and still nothing happens. Same for the translation pages itself: I talked with one of the moderators to move the translations from CTGP Revolution/Translation/Track Names to List of Retro Tracks from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!/Translation and there wasn't a answer and then I did it for 2 months ago without asking a moderator and maczkopeti helped me on the sites and the other moderators nothing said agains or about it. I hope you know what I mean! Thanks for understanding. Best regards from the clouddealer --Horsti12 (talk) 20:46, 3 February 2015 (UTC)
I don't want to remove it from ALL pages, just some pages where the authors don't actually make use of it. Same goes for the difficulty field, as on pages other than tracks, it's completely useless. I also think that the difficulty field should be removed by a bot in non-track pages, as there are 154 character pages alone.
--maczkopeti (talk) 21:50, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

The point of templates is to create a uniform look on the wiki. While not every author will take advantage of the "editors used" field, it is always applicable, and it should remain on all pages and be filled in if people know them. There is no reason to remove the field just because it isn't used. If I remember correctly, at one time it created script error messages if you removed fields from a template, but it seems that was fixed by the wiki software upgrade a while back. So I agree with maczkopeti that the difficulty section should be removed if it does not apply.

And yes, you should ask a moderator or post on an appropriate talk page before attempting changes on large number of pages; it saves work for us if we don't have to revert the changes, and work for you if we are able to use a bot. You say you didn't get an answer when you asked before; did you ask directly on a moderator's talk page and are they still active? Some people like khacker have retired from the wiki, and others like Tock check in just occasionally. I don't check the wiki every day, but I will see messages on my talk page and I will respond. --Jefe (talk) 14:24, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

I forgot to say if you don't get a response within a reasonable time frame (no more than 3 - 4 days) after posting on an appropriate talk page then you can proceed. Of course no response can simply mean that nobody noticed it, but you've at least have given people a chance to respond to your idea. --Jefe (talk) 14:50, 4 February 2015 (UTC)
Yes but the =editors used field isn't on every page, because maczkopeti started to remove it, so why I'm not allowed to do that too?
and when I contact a moderator, than I contac them skype (when he has skype and when he added me.) like torran, khacker, because skype is moch easier for me. I get a notifications in 1 sec after the message was sent. In the wiki I can see the new message with a 5-10 minutes delay when I reload the page. I also need talk with you about DiddyKong --Horsti12 (talk) 15:13, 4 February 2015 (UTC)
It's not so much about getting permission from a moderator as reaching a group consensus - is it a good idea and will other people have objections or suggest ways to improve your idea. That's why I suggest waiting a few days before doing any sort of change affecting more than 30-40 pages. In addition, while it might be more convenient for you to contact moderators directly, it does not allow other users to see or comment on your proposal.
On this specific issue, regarding the editor field, I disagree with maczkopeti's decision to remove the field. I've given my reasons. --Jefe (talk) 19:17, 4 February 2015 (UTC)
