Welcome to the Custom Mario Kart Wiiki!

Wiiki.png

Thank you for joining the Custom Mario Kart Wiiki!

Before you get started, Click here to read the Rules page.

Keep the following in mind as you contribute to the site:

  • Make good edits. Always use the SHOW PREVIEW button to check your changes before you use the SAVE button. If you make a mistake, wait 15 minutes before saving the same page a third or fourth time in a row.
  • Saving lots of edits without PREVIEWING will get the moderators on your case, and can get you banned from the Wiiki.
  • Write articles in third person (using words like he, she and they) instead of first person (I, me and we.) User pages and talk pages are the exceptions to this rule.
  • Use correct grammar, spelling and capitalization.
  • If someone posts on your talk page, please post a reply.
  • Sign all of your posts on talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • Don't delete anything from your talk page.
  • Use the Templates on the Main Page when making new articles for content such as Custom Tracks, Texture Hacks, Characters and other releases.
  • We encourage all content makers to create a User Link to put on their release pages and to add it to the Author List.

Thank you! -- From FunkyDude (talk) 00:38, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

Wiiki Rules / Moderator Messages

Please use the show preview button to avoid saving a page more than twice in a 15 minute period. Us moderators need to patrol every edit and spamming them is against wiki rules. -- WorldsBoss (talk) 13:05, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

Oh ok, sorry didn't know. I will try my best not to do it again. -- BulletMKW (talk) 12:41, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

While I appreciate the mirroring of download links, please do not litter your credits over the article. There is no reason to take credit for the mirroring of download links when the Custom Track Archive hosted by Wiimm performs a similar function. --Torran (talk) 06:13, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

Most people can't seem to figure out how to convert the WBZ files into the SZS files, and I thought that I would let them know where to find more of the tracks in the SZS file format for tracks they possibly didn't have. I think wiimm's archive is great, it's just in WBZ format, and I think some people would rather have the direct SZS download, and it's like a mini-archive on my page so I thought I would let people know :) Sorry though. --BulletMKW (talk) 06:43, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
The issue is putting your name into the article when you had nothing to do with the creation of the level. Just clearly label the link as a mirror in the version history. --Jefe (talk) 17:59, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
On second thought, if the original link is in WBZ, i have no problem with you moving the WBZ link to the mirror section. I think the main link should be in SZS format if possible. --Jefe (talk) 18:10, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
Alright, I will put the SZS download for any WBZ tracks and use the SZS as the default one. --BulletMKW (talk) 15:31, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

You have ignored many requests to stop adding links to pages, you have already received enough warnings. If you don't like it how the wiki is controlled you can discuss it, readding removed content is not the solution. --kHacker35000vr (talk) 22:02, 28 November 2013 (UTC)

Actually, Jefe told me I could mirror links in the version history of the tracks, and I don't see why providing download links are a problem. I mean, they give out certain versions of the track that weren't there before? I might've ignored your request, but it was for a good reason and I don't think you realize that. I don't think it was necessary to undo my edits on a few pages, they had links to older versions of the tracks - so basically they were taking down links on the page which is making the page worse. If you still don't understand why, I don't quite understand you. But I don't know if you hate just me specifically, because I think the 3 day ban for undoing an edit was kind of unnecessary. You could've just left it as it was, It wasn't causing any harm was it? Or you could've told me to stop editing it. And when other people mirror links for tracks, you don't seem to care. --BulletMKW (talk) 22:12, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
You haven't been banned for adding those links, you have been banned for ignoring moderator messages and edit fights. We want everyone to play on the latest version of a track, as older versions may contain bugs or other issues. If a track gets a maior update which contains changes of the map itself, then there is a good reason to add an older download. Take the multiple versions of a single track in the CTGP as example. That decision is up to the creator of the track. I hope it is clear now. --kHacker35000vr (talk) 10:30, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
I agree with Khacker, it's best to let the CT maker decide if they want to list older versions for download. I understand some people might want access to all previous versions, but most old versions of levels are exactly the same as the current version, but with unfixed glitches. What's the point of downloading an old version when there is a fixed version? Curiosity? Okay, sure that's a valid reason. Wanting to take advantage of a glitch or position bug? That's not good at all. That said, it's fine to add mirrors for the current version of a track, but if a moderator undoes your edit, it's usually for a good reason. If you dispute their changes, take it to a talk page rather than starting an edit war by undoing their changes. --Jefe (talk) 17:18, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for clearing it up. I didn't quite understand what you meant earlier. So no more adding mirrors to old versions of tracks? Got it. But would it be ok to link them to my wiki page if I put a mini archive on there for the older versions of the track? --BulletMKW (talk) 03:47, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

As far as I'm concerned you can keep an "old version archive" on your user page, but don't link your user page to any track pages.--Jefe (talk) 05:52, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Your SZS archive

I hope, that your SZS track archive lives for a long time. If not, we must edit all your links. So it was a good idea to write the log at your user page.

However, Welcome! -- Wiimm (talk) 08:59, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

Thank you! However, it is not much of an archive, more of a place where I put the track that I restored around the wiiki. --BulletMKW (talk) 12:19, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

Temporary edit prohibition

Um, I was just updating my links since I saw that Dropbox links eventually expire, and then Mygoshi went all ape shit on me and started undoing my edits. So uh, how long does this last for? --BulletMKW (talk) 17:27, 15 December 2013 (UTC)
You are allowed to edit again. For fairness I had to forbid the editing to all 3 users.

Download Restoration

Hello, just saying that when you restore a broken download, don't forget to remove the stub category in order to tell that you fixed these downloads, thank you.--Avenir (talk) 15:50, 22 December 2013 (UTC)

Majora`s Castle

Did you have the download link from V 1.0?? It`s only the beta. --Snake 21:44, 25 December 2013 (UTC)

My mistake, v1.0 was never released. I just changed the current version to BETA --BulletMKW (talk) 21:55, 25 December 2013 (UTC)
