About Texture Hacks and Stuff

This News things says "Latest CT News" but other people also post their Texture Hacks and Custom Characters here too... I thought people only write here if they release a CT? Custom Characters... I think they are okay because they're Custom. But Texture Hacks? How about making a Texture Hack news and keeping this CT news for better overview? --Buschkling 14:21, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

I've proposed the idea that Texture hacks should not have a news spot, at least not on the main page. All a texture hack is new images in a course. Often these can be great, Like Darky Kart Wii, and others are awful. Although the authors may work hard on them, things like Golden Daisy, Rock Bowser, and course textures are not Custom track news. Although actual custom characters acceptable (Not texture hacked/un-animated, BrawlBox made with Bones/3DS Max). I could make 50 texture hacks in one day easy, and I could post them all on the main news. I think that the main news should be limited to Programs, Custom Tracks, Ports, Real Custom Characters, Distributions, and various custom track/wiki related news & announcements. -- SuperMario64DS 18:47, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

People should stop adding texture hacks to the latest Custom Track News. I see a new name in the CT news thing and think: "hey cool a new ct" and click on it and then its just a Texture Hack. I'd say keep only custom tracks in the custom track news, or? Because this is confusing and I don't want to find so many texture hacks when looking through CT News.--Buschkling 22:18, 23 August 2012 (UTC

I kinda agree with you, texture hacks are easy to create and news n may be misleading. But they are a part of this wiki. I think it should be clear what it is by putting texture hack in the name or a font color for it. By looking to what page a link goes by just going with your cursor on it you can see it too.

Wiimm and I have updated the News Instructions so that all items should be identified as a Texture, CT, etc. The news listing on the front page now says Latest Releases.--Jefe 15:18, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

News Postings

Hey How can I get a mod to notice something? I want to say "Natnew has released v1.0 of Character Kart Wii" but where do I post it? -- Unsigned post by Natnew.

All news must be posted on News 2012. There is a bot that updates the news posting on front page based on changes made to News 2012. If it doesn't one of us will add it. Also please sign your posts with ~~~~. --Jefe 21:03, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
