Original Custom Track Sub-sections

I don't know where to post this, so I decided to put this in a place where mods would look.

I think that the Custom Track page should have different tables which define the type of track environment it has. For example, you will have a list of city tracks, jungle tracks, mountain tracks, raceway tracks, etc. It would be much more organized and it would be easier to find tracks this way. Is it okay if I do that? --Quajeek99 (talk) 18:28, 25 May 2014 (UTC)

Why limit tracks to generic types and categorize them? I see no reason to do this. --Torran (talk) 19:03, 25 May 2014 (UTC)

Custom Track Music File Details

Perhaps with the Custom Track details listed on each track's page, why not have a section that lists what music file it uses, and have a page that shows tracks that use a certain music file to make music editing a bit easier for people? --Supershadow64ds (talk) 03:56, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

This information would normally fall under the Download section, however most CT creators will decide to bundle their brstm's with their CT's in a zip archive, which is an awful idea really. Having this section be mandatory across all pages is probably unnecessary. --Torran (talk) 04:01, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

Battle Arena Custom Tracks

Hello,I created a new category named Battle Arena Custom Tracks.I hope someone can add it to the main page. The concept of the new category is that everybody can transformate a Battle Track into a Custom Track.Tomorrow I'll release a video with the DS Twilight House. --Mkwjason (talk) 15:02, 14 June 2014 (UTC)

Front Page Custom AND Texture Distributions?

Before you say that my distribution should not receive any special attention, allow me to explain myself. My MKW Hack Pack distribution, which is to be released sometime in 2015, will be the ONLY distribution (that I know of, feel free to contest that) that will feature both Custom Tracks and Texture Hacked Tracks in them. However, if I'm wrong and mine isn't the only one out there, I still feel that this will benefit those who's distributions fall under this category. Also, I haven't created the section yet, because the nature of this request is something brand new, never done before. So I shall wait for your consent or disapproval. ~Thank you for your consideration Huili (talk) 17:24, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

Unsigned comment template

Would this work?

--''Unsigned comment by [[User:{{{1}}}|{{{1}}}]] ([[User talk:{{{1}}}|talk]]).''

--CT creator Emer, (talk here) 11:20, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

I've updated your template so it is easier to write, just put {{Sig|Name}} after unsigned comments. --Jefe (talk) 02:42, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

Naming of the 2 Wikis

We had an discussion about the titles of the 2 titles. My proposal is now:

  • »Custom Mario Kart Wiiki« or short »CT-Wiiki« for this wiki (like before)
  • »Custom MK8 Wiiki« or short »MK8-Wiiki« for the new one.

I'm not sure about the hyphens in ths short names.

Wiimm (talk) 22:38, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

Well I would actually say lets change it "completly" so even when we extent it to other/future consoles (MK7 someday maybe). For reference: »Custom MKWii Wiki«. Of course this would result in some Logo work.
Tock (talk) 18:18, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
I've always thought of it as the "Custom Mario Kart Wiki," with the Wii worked in to the word wiki to save space. But yeah, referring to this one the "CT Wiki" is problematic. I think the full name can stay "Custom Mario Kart Wiiki," and we can use "MKWiiki" or "MKWii Wiki" for the short version.
As for the logo, I can work in the Wii logo into the "Wiiki" part, it would help explain the name that way. The other one can be the "Custom Mario Kart 8 Wiki." with the 8 logo overlaying the words "Custom Mario Kart Wiki" similar to how it is now.--Jefe (talk) 20:14, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

Wiki a.pngWiki b.png

I couldn't think of a good way to put Wii and wiki together that looked good. I still might try though. For consistency, I might take off the 'wiki' off the mk8 version. Thoughts on these two? --Jefe (talk) 10:40, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

I like the new logos, but let us consider: We have:
  • "Custom Mario Kart Wii Wiki" ⇒ "Custom Mario Kart Wiiki" with theme "Custom Mario Kart Wii"
  • "Custom Mario Kart 8 Wiki" with theme "Custom Mario Kart 8"
@Jefe: The left logo is the MKWii-theme and the right the MK8-Wiki.

Wiki c.png

Found a Wii font. Yes, the logo with the blue 8 is the MK8 wiki logo. Adding 8 to the text would be redundant, since the blue logo is an 8. --Jefe (talk) 11:17, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

Wiki d.png

One more variation of the Wii version with different spacing between the letters. --Jefe (talk) 11:25, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
My favourites are: Wiki c.png Wiki b.png
Wiimm (talk) 11:37, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
But I like also the yellow of Mk8wiikitest5.png

Wiki e.pngWiki f.pngWiki g.png

Without the word 'wiki' and with two versions with yellow-gold instead of copper.--Jefe (talk) 12:02, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

I prefer image "g" (the right one). And now other people with an opinion are expected. -- Wiimm (talk) 13:17, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

Wiki h.pngWiki i.pngWiki j.pngWiki k.pngWiki l.png

I decided to redo the blue 8 in my photoshop file so it would be hi-res, making it usable for other purposes, like youtube videos. So I reuploaded the previous versions with the blue 8, and did a few more variations of it. This should be enough to choose from. Of course I can also apply any color scheme to the Wii version. I went with intense red to match the old logo.--Jefe (talk) 17:15, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

Wiki m.pngWiki n.pngWiki o.png

That's it, unless someone has a specific request. My personal preferences are "o" for the Wiiki, and "l" for the MK8 wiki, with "m" and "b" and "g" as my alternates. Also, I uploaded hi res versions of image l and image o. --Jefe (talk) 17:39, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
The only problems I have with the Logos is that the "wiiki" spacing is a bit too narrow for my taste and the "Wiki" being too squeezed. Besides those little complaints I also like the l and o style versions.
Tock (talk) 19:03, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

I can do some resizing, but I'll also need to change the proportions/size of "Custom Mario Kart" so everything will fit in the blue 8. Did you prefer the look of "wiiki" in image c?--Jefe (talk) 20:49, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

You probably mean d? Yeah that spacing is too big^^. Like I said o would just need a small amount of bigger spacing.
Tock (talk) 21:15, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

Wiki p.pngWiki q.png

Yeah, I should have minded my p's and q's there (groan.)

Here's p and q. Now that I've uploaded it, the spacing on Wiiki doesn't look that different, but I did increase it ;) For the word "wiki" I could go with a different font or resize it some more if you'd prefer Wiiki and Wiki to be about the same size. I think they should look somewhat similar.--Jefe (talk) 21:38, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

The last 2 ones are the best, but I'm sure, you will improve it (have seen the uploads in the log ;) -- Wiimm (talk) 13:02, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

Wiki r.pngWiki s.png

I had another idea. Both logos now use the "Wii" font for the word Wiki, but the MKWii version has Wii in a different color. I also changed the style of "Wii" and "Wiki" so I could use the "Wii" blue, which didn't work well with the bronze outline.--Jefe (talk) 13:05, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

Wiki t.pngWiki u.png

Same, but with "Wiki" in bronze. --Jefe (talk) 13:56, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

Wiki v.png

Last one.--Jefe (talk) 14:04, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

I have activated U and T to get an real impression of them. It is not a mandatory decision. -- Wiimm (talk) 21:25, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
