Delete an unneeded page

Can one of the moderators please delete the following page? Its content was moved to another one so that page is empty and useless now. MKWii_Network_Protocol/EVENTDATA Leseratte (talk) 07:08, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

Broken download links

I have recently been reuploading broken download links as some of you may have noticed via the recent changes page. At the same time, I also compiled a big list of pages where the download link was down and I didn't happen to have a file on hand. I just wanted to put that list here for all to see. For the benefit of the wiiki, I will put it in a spoiler.

Also, I am in no way asking that every single link here should be deleted, I understand that some of these links are historically significant in the Custom Mario Kart community. I'm also not asking to be a moderator for this, I'm just, as they say, raising awareness. If anyone has the files to these downloads please put them in their respective pages too.

No download link

Huili (talk) 23:02, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

I already made a hidden category named Category:Misc-Info/No Download, though it doesn't show texture hacks currently; I need to edit that.
Also, don't forget to remove broken links and add Category:Broken Downloads to the page.

Adding a Custom Track Distribution to Main Page?

Hello I have just released a new custom track pack distribution: MiniGeek2000's Custom Track Pack. How is it added to the Main Page list of new releases? Is it controlled by the moderators? --MiniGeek2000 (talk) 17:56, 6 May 2016 (UTC)

Add it to News 2016 -- Wiimm (talk) 18:19, 6 May 2016 (UTC)

Broken Wiiki Themes

User:ALPHAMARIOX tried to change his theme to "Nostalgia", but now he gets HTTP Error 500 upon trying to load any page. I did a small test and it appears the "Classic" theme is also not working.
He needs to be reverted to a working theme. Perhaps MonoBook?
Also, can these broken themes either be removed from the list or be fixed? It's too easy to permanently lock yourself out of the Wiiki by changing your account to a broken theme.
Thanks, --Guilmon35249vr (talk) 21:32, 8 August 2016 (UTC)

Send him this link. It will override the broken theme with the MonoBook theme so he can reset the theme setting.
--maczkopeti (talk) 22:03, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
Awesome. It seems to work. Thanks! --Guilmon35249vr (talk) 23:11, 8 August 2016 (UTC)

Epilepsy

Can anyone (native english speaker) create a good Epilepsy warning, that can be included into ct pages. Color Dimension is e.g. a track, that shall include this warning.

-- Wiimm (talk) 16:02, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

Isn't there already a template for it? → {{seizure warning}} —Atlas (talk) 16:13, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
In deed ;) I think, it needs some reformatting. -- Wiimm (talk) 16:25, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

Mario Kart 7 Wiki?

Is it possible for us to make an MK7 wiki, like the MK8 and MKWii CT wikis? Just an idea, since CTGP-7 is officially a thing and the modding scene for Mario Kart 7 (and the 3DS in general) is starting to take off. Aplumafreak500 (talk) 12:29, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

A Useless Page

Hello I would like a moderator to delete a useless page please. File:Coin Cup.png --MiniGeek2000 (talk) 09:34, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

Done.

Deleting another useless page

Hello,

I would like an administrator to delete File:Super Mario Kart Wii Coin Cup.png --MiniGeek2000 (talk) 08:34, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Standard way is to add »[[category:delete]]« at the end of the article or image description. All so marked pages are here visible: Category:Delete.
-- Wiimm (talk) 10:12, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
The file is in use. See Special:WhatLinksHere/File:Super Mario Kart Wii Coin Cup.png.
--Wexos (Talk | Contribs) 10:17, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
And here you see unused files: Special:UnusedFiles -- Wiimm (talk) 10:56, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
I have unlinked File:Super Mario Kart Wii Coin Cup.png --MiniGeek2000 (talk) 11:43, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Lost downloads

All of the downloads for my tracks seem to have vanished, and unfortunately I no longer have any of the original files. If anyone has backups, preferably WBZ, please add them back. --SuperMario64DS (talk) 06:47, 19 October 2017 (UTC)

As you can see on the "recent changes" page, I'm already going through the track list, updating all tracks (in alphabetical order) with new download links if the old one is down, but that will take a long while. If you want, you can check Wiimms track archive (http://wiimm.de/r/d/mkw-track-archive) if your tracks are there, and if so, add that link to the track page(s). -- Leseratte (talk) 06:49, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
I wrote the above message blissfully unaware of what had occurred... I lost the files awhile ago and I knew someone created MEGA mirrors, and today I wished to acquire a few of them. Thank you for that resource. --SuperMario64DS (talk) 06:52, 19 October 2017 (UTC)

A "Ghost" Problem

I don't know if this is the place to write this, but I have this problem: I have a SNES Rainbow Road 4 ghost (from CTGP) in my SD Card. The problem is that I don't know how to put it in the MKWII ISO to make the game play it (Dolphin Emulator). What do I do? Rubén (talk) 16:14, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

Changing name of a page

Can someone change the name of the page Super Mario Kart Wii to Super Mario Kart Wii (MiniGeek2000) --MiniGeek2000 (talk) 13:58, 11 February 2018 (UTC)

You can change it from the "move" tab at the top of the page. --Caron (talk) 15:24, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
Move it, then edit all pages that link to it by checking this.

Mixed up talk page

The talk page on Talk:DS Shroom Ridge contains a small section relevant to the article that used to be on that page, DS Shroom Ridge (SuperMario64DS). However, the first entry on the subsection is dually relevant - it specifies my version, but in relation to its time on the article titled DS Shroom Ridge. So I have two questions - first, should this small section of the talk page be moved to Talk: DS Shroom Ridge (SuperMario64DS), and second, if so, should the first part relevant to the article title stay behind? --SuperMario64DS (talk) 06:46, 7 August 2018 (UTC)

KMP Cloud Download Broken

Hi there. I recently tried to download KMP_Cloud. The link is now unusable due to the owner's mediafire account being suspended. I cannot find a mirror. I hope I have posted this correctly! --User:Teramiiko (talk) 11:35, 12 September 2018 (UTC)

Porting TF2 Files into Mario Kart Wii?

I apologize if this isn't the right place to ask this :/ I am new to making custom tracks, and I was thinking of turning the track used in the Duck Collectors minigame in TF2 into a map. However, IDK how I would port it from the source files inside my TF2 folder into the game itself. Is it even possible? Also, how do I go about porting the textures? --Unsigned comment by 404 (talk).

A File that I am need to replace

Hello,

I need someone to delete this file: File:Boo.png

I wanted to swap the same file but with a different name but I can't. I tried what it said me to do.

It would be very much appreciated. --MiniGeek2000 (talk) 17:10, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

What exactly are you trying to do? If you want to upload a new version of that file, click "Upload a new version of this file". If you want to rename it, click "Move". What's the problem? -- Leseratte (talk) 17:12, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

I was trying to upload a file with a different name which looks exactly the same as the Boo.png with a different name. The website detected it to be identical to said file and I was trying to find a way to delete it.--MiniGeek2000 (talk) 17:23, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

Well then why do you need to reupload it if it is identical? Why not use the existing name, or move the file to its new name? -- Leseratte (talk) 17:25, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
I wanted to make it a name for a cup but someone else has used a file with the name I was going to intentionally use so I named it Boo.png then I tried naming it with the name of my custom track pack with the name MiniGeek2000's Custom Track Pack Boo Cup.png because I wanted to have the name Boo Cup displayed on my custom track distribution without having to deal with any file conflicts. I was trying to rename the file but I don't know how to do it.--MiniGeek2000 (talk) 17:50, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
I moved the file name to its new name like you told me. This move to a new name feature I didn't see at first but thanks for helping me.--MiniGeek2000 (talk) 18:01, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

2 Questions about Texture Hack Distribution

Hello, I wanted to release my own Texture Hack Distribution but I have two concerns about it.

1. Can I release the texture pack with no announcement whatsoever?

2. Do I need to ask permission from the creator of the texture hack of that track?

Thanks in advance! and sorry If I posted this in the wrong place to ask. --SnorgUp (talk) 09:46, 23 February 2020 (UTC)

For the first one, I don't know, I suggest doing the thing anyways.
For the second one, that depends of the creator of the texture hack. Most are fine with just crediting but few may want permission. --FancyDoesCustomTracks (talk) 14:13, 23 February 2020 (UTC)
The Wiki rules explicitly allow you to include content from the Wiki in your distribution (as long as that's released on the Wiki, too), so there is no need to ask creators for permission as long as the tracks you are using are available on this wiki. -- Leseratte (talk) 16:02, 23 February 2020 (UTC)
