:::So are Mario Kart Arcade GP 1 & 2. Does GP 2 really need it's own page? Does this game? Not certain yet. However, if it were to get it's own page, we'd wind up with two Mario Kart 8 pages and potentially two Nintendo Switch pages in the future. I think the best thing to do for now is to assume it's a GP2-like expansion. So far we've been only shown new battle tracks and characters. If there are new tracks, I bet they're few. --[[User:SuperMario64DS|SuperMario64DS]] ([[User talk:SuperMario64DS|talk]]) 07:25, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

CTGP-R names

MrBean35000vr and Chadderz, if these tracks are released, how will you name them in CTGP-R? --CustomArio (talk) 10:43, 4 July 2014 (UTC)

These are my suggestions: Mario's Bumping Stadium, Water Paradise, Cake Canyon, Thwomp Temple, Mario Mobius Circuit, Toad City, Boo Mansion, Shy Guy Watermine, Sunny Airport, Dolphin Bay, Dancingbuilding, Wario Mountain, Bowser Sky, Dry Dry Bazzar, Bowser's Metal Castle, Rainbow Satellites. (Arranged in order) --CustomArio (talk) 14:13, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
Not sure if it would be possible for some of these, but here goes nothing: Mario Kart Circuit, Water Paradise, Sweet Sweet Mountains, Temple of Thwomps, Mario Raceway, Toad City, Boo Mansion, Shy Guy Mimes, Sunny Airport, Dolphin Shoares, Electric Drome, Wario Mountain, Sky Cruise, Dry Dry Bazzar, Bowser's Stronghold, Rainbow Route/Rainbow Space Station/Rainbow Raceway. HerbertMcHoover (talk) 15:32, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
That's great :). Somehow even better than mine. --CustomArio (talk) 03:33, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
But Mario Raceway had used by 3DS Mario Circuit. --CustomArio (talk) 02:04, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Do it like Wiimm in Wiimms Mario Kart Fun, no name change. It make no sense to rename wii u and 3ds courses to a other name. --Horsti12™ THE Clouddealer (talk) 05:55, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
If that happens, I just think that Wiimm was doing the wrong thing. --CustomArio (talk) 10:47, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Nobody has made 3DS Mario Circuit and I thought we were going to put a 7 before Mario Raceway ("7 Mario Raceway"/"8 Mario Raceway"). HerbertMcHoover (talk) 14:00, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
I thought maybe, since there's already N64 Mario Raceway, we could have (3DS) Mario Speedway and (Wii U) Mario Figure-8 (I doubt we could make it a Möbius Strip). Also, some names: Mario Kart Circuit, Sub Coaster, Cookie Canyon, Temple of Thwomp, Mario Figure-8, San Toadstool, Boo Manor, Shy Guy Mines, Delfino Airport, Dolphin Bay, Electro Club, Wario Summit, Stormcloud Cruise, Dry Dry Boneyard, Bowser's Evil Trap, and Station Road. --Fortanono (talk) 01:20, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
What is happening with the battles? Are they going to be on this page or somewhere else? --Yoshimaster (talk) 19:25, 29 July 2014 (UTC)
I think we will should add them in. But I don't think it's really worth adding them since they are just Courses that can be battled on rather than arenas. As for Naming for CTGP, it should be
  • Mario Kart Raceway
  • Aqua Land (or Super Marine World, although that may be copyrighted to due to it being a MK8 advertisement)
  • Sweet Sweet Mountain
  • Temple of Thwomps
  • Mario Raceway
  • Toad's Bay or Toad's Port
  • Haunted Manor
  • Shy Guy Quarry
  • Delfino Airport or Sunshine Terminal
  • Dolphin Shores
  • Light-Dome?
  • Wario's Alpine Slope
  • Cloudy Climb or Cloudy Cruise
  • Dry Bones Ruins
  • Bowser's Towers
  • Rainbow Station
YoshiGo99 (talk) 19:46, 29 July 2014 (UTC)
No battle. Nintendo didn't add separate battle stages in MK8. Instead they turn Mario Circuit, Toad Harbour, Wii Moo Moo Meadows, N64 Toad's Turnpike, GCN Dry Dry Desert, SNES Donut Plains 3, GCN Sherbet Land and N64 Yoshi Valley into battle stages.
--CustomArio (talk) 00:57, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
I know there aren't separate battle stages. I just wanted to know if someone was going to turn those courses into battle stages for the Wii and where they would put them. Anyway, here is what I think the courses should be called in CTGP-R: Mario Stadium, Sub Coaster, Sweet Sweet Mountain, Thwomp Temple, Mario Raceway, Toad's Port, Boohemoth Mansion (he is above the front door, after all), Shy Guy Mines, Delfino Airport, Dolphin Ocean, ???, Wario Mountain, Sky Fortress or Airship Garden, Dry Bones Dunes, Bowser's Fortress?, and Rainbow Road: Anti-Gravity Edition or Space Station Road. --Yoshimaster (talk) 15:02, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

Exporting Models

So now, MrBean35000vr and Chadderz are working on MK8 hacking. Thus I think track models can be exported if we have the track files located and with certain tools for that (much like SZS modifier for MKWii, e.g. BYAML modifier). Chadderz, you are a good programmer, so I think you can do it. :)--CustomArio (talk) 03:21, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

The non-DLC track models can be found on http://www.models-resource.com/wii_u/mariokart8/. Those of you who are good at porting tracks, now's your chance! SuperMarioDaBom (talk) 00:09, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
Now the DLC tracks are available there too!--CustomArio (talk) 11:11, 8 January 2017 (UTC)

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Straightforward: The new game is an expansion, and should be wrapped with this page ala List of Retro Tracks from Mario Kart Arcade GP. Otherwise, we'd have to create subpages, or call this one "Switch Custom Tracks" on the front page (though this is likely not the Switch's entry for Mario Kart), which is further confusing. I believe the front page needs to refer to this section as "MK8 Custom Tracks", and this page needs to be changed accordingly. I'll make some quick modifications now, and you guys can settle the rest. --SuperMario64DS (talk) 05:48, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

I suppose a disambiguation is also up for discussion, but I feel that the initial trailer suggests that we do not need that. --SuperMario64DS (talk) 05:53, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a different game, even if it contains the same tracks that are used in Mario Kart 8. I don't see any reason to not create a new page about it, because they are two different games, made for two different consoles.
