Alternate Names for CTGP-R

Here's what i'm thinking:

  • Toad Raceway
  • Daisy Hillside
  • Cheep Cheep Ocean
  • Shy Guy's Market
  • Wuhu Island
  • Mario Raceway
  • Musical Park
  • Rock Rock Ridge
  • Piranha Plant Pipeline
  • Wario Shipwreck
  • Bowser Streets
  • Wuhu Volcano
  • DK Safari
  • Rosalina's Snow World
  • Bowser's Fortress
  • Rainbow Coaster

Some of them change the meaning too much. Here are better alternatives:
  • Cheep Cheep Cove
  • Music Motorway (mix of Europe/Australia and International name)
  • New Bowser City
  • Wuhu Mountain
  • DK Ruins
  • Bowser's Stronghold (Bowser's Fortress already exists in CTGP-R, so let's not cause confusion)
  • Rainbow Route
ZillaSpaz (talk) 02:18, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
  • Cheep Cheep Cove - Sounds good
  • Music Motorway - Fine
  • New Bowser City - Umm....what?
  • Wuhu Mountain - Sounds too similar to Wuhu Mountain Loop...?
  • DK Ruins - Sounds fine
  • Bowser's Stronghold - Alright
  • Rainbow Route - Yeah, sounds good
SuperStarLight (talk) 14:13, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
I'm glad you agree with most of them. I don't think Bowser Streets is a good idea, since he built a whole futuristic city. "New Bowser City" sounds much more deserved and "Bowser Streets" also undersells the track too much.
Also, why do you think Wuhu Mountain for 3DS Maka Wuhu is too similar when you also said Wuhu Island for 3DS Wuhu Loop would be fine? I planned names for both of them to use a combination of International and Europe/Australia names, just like 3DS Music Park.

My opinions:

  • Cheep Cheep Cove
  • Shy Guy Market
  • Musical Park
  • Bowser Streets
  • Wuhu Mountain
  • DK Safari
  • Bowser's Stronghold
  • Rainbow Route

3DS Music Park isn't exactly a park. It's basically Rainbow Road, but with musical instruments. It's in the middle of space. I already explained Bowser Streets above. DK Safari? This sounds okay, but I think the ruins are much more prominent throughout the course. Don't you agree? I'm also glad you agree with some of my new suggestions.
ZillaSpaz (talk) 19:50, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
While I like your choice of names, I would put Musical Park over it. Even Music Road or Musical Road would be pretty good. Musical Motorway is also fine, but I like those 3 better. Good point about Bowser Streets underselling the track, but I don't think New Bowser City cuts it. No idea what would. DK Ruins is also pretty good, the personally, I think DK Sfari feels like a better and more interesting name for the track. I like your suggestions, though, Zilla. Wonder what names we'd go with for the battle tracks.

I like Music Motorway the best. Musical Motorway sounds kinda similar, but some of my suggestions are based on official names, so it might look more familiar as just "Music Motorway". I haven't seen another Motorway track yet, so it's more unique. This is also why I don't like Music Road, since it's fairly bland. Road is used much more.

Safari is a cooler word, but Ruins suits it better. Also, Jungle Safari is already in CTGP-R, and it sounds too similar to your suggestion.

Bowser Streets isn't exactly good, but New Bowser City doesn't make any sense. SuperStarLight (talk) 03:14, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

Even though it means the exact same thing as the original?
ZillaSpaz (talk) 03:21, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

Oh fine, i'll admit I didn't really know what "Neo" ment. SuperStarLight (talk) 19:14, 13 April 2013 (UTC)

To my mind, "Neo Bowser City" could be converted into : "Bowser's Neo City" or "Neo City of Bowser" Other possibilities : replace City with Cityz, Cytyx, and other variations.
Examples : Neo Bowser Citix or Bowser's Neo Cytia
Cordially.

burikillo is making the existing port and they want Neo Koopa City, so we'll just leave it at that.

I suppose Nintendo of Japan won't notice if Neo Koopa City reads the exact same way in other languages. :p --Torran (talk) 02:09, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

More convenient?

May anyone post MK7 models here? That's for convenience on making CTs. Please advice if I wasn't supposed to ask this question.--CustomArio (talk) 11:06, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

Extract them from the files with Every File Explorer. If you want the files, I have a link for them, but you have to download the MK7 .cia (3DS Channel ROM) first, and I don't think that's allowed here. When the .dae exporter is improved, I'll make a model collection in the Sketchup Warehouse (the models won't have vertex colors though). --NewSuperMoiWii (talk) 17:36, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
Thanks to provide that there is MK7 ROM avaliable. --CustomArio (talk) 05:15, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
As I expected, it was Moi :P--CustomArio (talk) 13:36, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

New question: how can I open the .cia files?--CustomArio (talk) 14:37, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

The program doesn't actually open the files. It only extracts them. As soon as I can, I'll give you the program. --NewSuperMoiWii (talk) 20:25, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
But... why I cant see the option "Extract" in EFE?--CustomArio (talk) 09:57, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
You have to open a model (the files with a green leaf) and then go to File>Save As. In "filetype" you can choose between .bcres, .dae or .obj. --NewSuperMoiWii (talk) 18:53, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
I mean, the rom file(.cia) wasn't extracted. And I didn't see any leaves because of that.--CustomArio (talk) 09:42, 24 November 2014 (UTC)
You can't open the .cia in EFE. You have to open the files extracted from the .cia. If you have Gmail, I can provide you the link to a tutorial for extracting files. --NewSuperMoiWii (talk) 18:30, 24 November 2014 (UTC)
Yes I hv gmail.--CustomArio (talk) 09:23, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
It could be a good idea for you to make a .skp model containing the track models, as the tutorial you told me is not applicable to me due to the fact that I don't have a 3DS(not the modelling program).--CustomArio (talk) 10:02, 27 November 2014 (UTC)
You don't need a 3DS to extract the files. Just download the .cia from the tutorial I provided to you. --NewSuperMoiWii (talk) 16:18, 27 November 2014 (UTC)
But I think I saw MKGirlism said that the extraction need a 3DS with Firmware 4.5. I had the .cia file from the same link already.--CustomArio (talk) 08:51, 28 November 2014 (UTC)
