Some course slots have special features.
Slot 1.1 (Luigi Circuit)
There is always an audience noise playing low in the background. This could possibly apply to other tracks as well.
Slot 1.2 (Moo Moo Farm)
At the beginning of a race, during the camera pans, you'll hear noises of cows and bells.
Slot 1.3 (Mushroom Gorge)
There is always a white fog in the middle of the screen.
Recommended tracks:
- Mushroom Peaks (MrBean)
- SNES Rainbow Road (MrBean)
- GCN Baby Park (MRbuttCHINS)
- Daisy's Palace (Vulcanus)
Slot 2.1 (Mario Circuit)
You can here a chain chomp in the backround of the intro. (VS Mode)
Slot 2.3 (DK Summit)
It's always snowing.
Recommended tracks:
- Fishdom Island/night RC4 (BigOto)
- Icy Shroom Road (BigOto)
Slot 3.1 (Daisy Circuit)
Tracks including streetcones, boats and some other objects that only appear on this course will only work properly on this slot. They might work in other slots, but they only work the way they're supposed to with no bugs or crashes if they are on slot 3.1.
There are also some tracks that don't work on this slot (such as tracks based off from Dry Dry Ruins). It's unknown why.
Slot 4.2 (Moonview Highway)
Moonview Highway will only work if there is at least one car of each kind following their set route.
Known running custom tracks are:
- Cannon City (kHacker)
- GCN Bowser Castle RC2.4 (Cagnouto, mod by Tock)
- Mega World (kHacker)
- N64 Rainbow Road (Guillimon)
- Space Road (Khacker)
Those tracks also don't work on other slots.
Slot 5.3 (SNES Ghost Valley 2)
Tracks that were based off from this one usually have problems when put on other slots. However, this slot accepts any track.
Known tracks with glitches on other slots:
- SNES Ghost Valley 1 (hidden item boxes)
Slot 6.1 (N64 Sherbet Land)
Only courses including penguins like the original "N64 Sherbet Land" run at this slot.
Known running custom tracks are:
- N64 Yoshi Valley (MKDasher, mod by Tock)
- Northpole Slide (Metaknight)
- Penguin Canyon
- Sky Heaven
- SNES Vanilla Lake 2 (Igorseabra4)
An interesting note is that this is the only course that can't be replaced by any, but can replace any.
Slot 6.2 (GBA Shy Guy Beach)
Only courses including pirate ship like the original "GBA Shy Guy Beach" run at this slot.
Known running custom tracks are:
- GBA Cheep Cheep Island (ARM)
- GBA Cheep Cheep Island (MRbuttCHINS)
- GBA Lakeside Park (Igorseabra4)
- GCN Yoshi Circuit (Teknik Kart Wii Team, mod by Tock)
Those tracks also don't work on other slots.
Slot 6.4 (GCN Waluigi Stadium)
Only some courses run at this slot (reason unknown).
Known running custom tracks are:
- Bowser Jr.'s Fort (Vulcanus)
- DS Waluigi Pinball (Both versions)
- Thwomp Factory (igorseabra4)
- Wario's Lair (thondam)
- N64 Wario Stadium (thondam)
Slot 7.4 (GCN Mario Circuit)
