This is an overview page for Mario Kart 64. It serves as a Mini Wiki giving information on Mario Kart 64 Custom Tracks, File Formats, and other things rather than Mario Kart Wii.

Custom Tracks

Only one Custom Track was truly made for Mario Kart 64. It was named Starlight. It was a hack over Rainbow Road. In early 2007, a Youtube user named "RekcahRepyh", introduced the first Mario Kart 64, called "Starlight". This early version used Graphics from Rainbow Road, rather than it's own. Later on, RekcahRepyh released a new version with custom graphics, and explained how he had edited it completely with Hex. Along with the updated version, they released a Patch for Mario Kart 64 to run this hack. That's available for download [[1]]. Along with that, he released a hacked N64 Emulator to play new music during the race. Shortly after release, RekcahRepyh promised to release an editor for Mario Kart 64, but nothing else had been said since.

File Formats

The inter-workings of Mario Kart 64 have still yet to be thoroughly explored. It appears to be closely similar to Super Mario 64, as frame rates & 3D animation work similar.
