Major Update - Announcement

In response to the major update that is taking place with CTGP-R, Huili also felt it was necessary to make an update to this distribution. It will be released on May 27th, one week after the CTGP update. This update will be a lot different than originally thought of, expect to see tracks that Huili didn't previously think of putting in before.

Known Bugs

When you finish an offline Grand Prix or VS match, the winning, ending, and losing scenes will not show up, they will blackscreen, probably because they were NOT included in the ctgp code.
Huili KantoEpic, and others tested out Area 28 online and it worked with no problem. However, the more people on that track, the more lag it will create.
Speed mods are not currently working for any of those tracks that should have them.

Overview

MKW Hack Pack is Huili's second distribution, and by far his most ambitious distribution ever. It is the first major distribution to ever include both custom tracks and texture hack tracks in them. This distribution will feature 184 custom tracks and 32 texture hack tracks, with the expansion of main.dol.

\As for textured versions of the original tracks, Huili chose to represent the texture community by letting there be at the most 2 total texture tracks per person. That will help give exposure to otherwise undiscovered or under rated texture hackers, and not just focus on the most popular texture hackers only, as has been the trend.

Another thing about the MKW Hack Pack is that there are a lot of edited files, Huili wants to be able to change almost every aspect of the game by replacing original files with modified files. This includes custom characters, items, backmodels, earths, globes, miibody, race, menus, boot up screens, title screens, selection screens, music, brsar sound effects, thps, minimaps, speedometers, countdown mode. Anything that can be changed, Huili is looking for edited files. All these changes will be available on the full version download of the MKW Hack Pack. A smaller version, with only the tracks and necessary files, will also be available. Huili is also thinking about releasing a Master Collection of 80+ music packs for this distribution for the hardcore modder who can afford to put more than the usual amount of content on his SD Card.

Custom Menu System	Chadderz	This distribution makes use of custom menus to load custom course slots. The cup selection menu is modified with two buttons featuring arrows to the left and right of the main cups. When selected, these buttons cause the current on-screen cup buttons to be replaced with other cups, including custom cups, creating a scrolling menu system. All custom tracks are stored inside custom cups.
Custom Tracks Worldwide	XeR	This distribution is capable of searching for random players to play custom tracks with. When running the pack, simply press the Regional/Continental button (which is renamed to Custom Tracks Worldwide) to search for custom track players. You can also join your friends who are playing CTWW, and they can join you. This feature is currently experimental, but seems to be working correctly. Credits to XeR for finding the required values to do this.
Random Track Selection	Chadderz	When in CTWW mode, picking random will allow the game to select a custom track based on a number provided by the game's RNG system. It can also be triggered by pressing + or Start (depending on your controller), and may be used offline to randomly select a track to play on.
Wi-Fi Timer	Chadderz	The countdown timer on the Wi-Fi voting screen is always shown now, rather than just when you're about to run out of time. This can give you a better idea of how long you have to make a decision when voting. The time allocated is 30 seconds.
Wi-Fi Time Limit Expansion	Chadderz	This distribution makes a modification to the race time limit on Wi-Fi. It has been expanded from 5 minutes to 5:40, allowing longer tracks to be entered and played through to completion. The game has another hard limit of 5:56 before it disconnects everyone, so it is impractical to increase the time beyond 5:40, as the time advances even when looking at leaderboards. If 5:40 is reached, the pack forces you past the leaderboards quickly to avoid disconnection.
Ghost Blocking	mdmwii	The game will not save ghosts at all in order to try to prevent save data corruption and accidental overwriting of ghosts. Personal leaderboards are also not updated. This feature is only temporary as future releases will support ghost data saving in a much more secure way.
Draggable Blue Shells	MrBean35000vr	Blue Shells can now be held behind you like Red and Green Shells. They will explode on contact, but not hurt the player. They can be used to protect against other items being shot from behind, but if wheelie-bumped while holding a blue shell behind you it will fall away and disappear. Only one Blue Shell can exist at once, so even when it is held out behind you it will be impossible for anyone else to get one from an item box.
Speedometer	Chadderz	Located in the lower right hand corner of the screen. This only works in single player modes. Units is KM/H (kilometers per hour).
Max Lap Count Modifier	Geeh and MrEvil	A track can have between 1 and 8 laps.
Speed Modifier!	MrBean35000vr	Tracks have a speed modifier applied (e.g. 2× speed) which causes all parts of the game's physics to move at the increased speed (including vehicles, items and boosts).
Wiimmfi	Wiimm and Leseratte	Support to play on a custom MKW server has been added as a replacement to Nintendo WFC. For more details see Wiimmfi Project.
Minimap Colors	Wine, AC, and Pepo 2000	Minimaps can now have colors. This affects every track in the pack.
Countdown Mode	MrBean35000vr	Countdown Mode has been added as a replacement for battles in single player online play.
Save To SD Card	Huili	Regular Friend Roster This distribution, like any other, will have the save file for your regular friend roster, much like that in any other distribution. Time Trials and Grand Prix If the idea of playing online does not interest you, Huili has made it possible to have another save to SD card option if you want to have the Best Known Time (BKT) or Wold Record (WR) of any track in this distribution. Countdown This save file should be exclusive to countdown races for this distribution. Offline use is not recommended, as nothing interesting will happen, except you have to race 8 laps" CTGP This option will allow you to have your ctgp save file in case you're not comfortable with the other options Huili has given you.
