Overview

MKW Hack Pack is Huili's second Custom Track Distribution, and by far his most ambitious distribution ever. This distribution will have 3 installments to it: a distribution with 216 custom tracks, a 32 track Time Trial pack and another distribution with 192 texture hack tracks, with the expansion of main.dol. These distributions will be the first to ever have custom tracks only and the first distribution to have more than 32 original tracks textured with the expansion of main.dol.

The purpose of the MKW Hack Pack is twofold. 1. Huili wants to represent the underdog. In other words, any forgotten, overlooked and new tracks have a better chance of getting in this distribution, and 2. To appeal to the mainstream audience by putting in familiar custom tracks, with some minor edits to them, and adding some of Huili's favorite tracks.

Another thing about the MKW Hack Pack is that there are a lot of edited files, Huili wants to be able to change as many files as possible by replacing original files with modified files. All this will be available on the extra content section. Huili also released a Master Collection of many music packs for this distribution, so you can find the music pack that works best for you, or you can download as many as you want.

ISO Patcher release by wg93589

wg93589 asked Huili if he could release his MKW Hack Pack WBFS file for people who couldn't use Riivolution. Huili approved and allowed wg to release his WBFS. The WBFS uses Wiimms Mario Kart Fun 2016-07 v1 as a base and has only the essentials required to run the Hack Pack. That means there is no Countdown and that there are no Textured Tracks, Custom Characters or Custom Music. Currently, a NTSC-U and PAL WBFS are available and an NTSC-J version is planned to be created as well.

Bugs

Known bugs include the following: Sometimes the first 8 cups will not be available to vote from on regionals. These tracks will be available offline or on friend rooms all the time however.

Countdown mode bugs. This is a known bug that can't be fixed: Playing countdown offline will not work like it does online, you have to do 8 laps of every track, and when the timer goes down to 0, the game does not end, and on vs mode, the cpu's don't stop. In this distribution, countdown mode has its own region, so that means that it is NOT over battle mode online.

Battle mode bugs. You cannot meet up on the battle region. You can play coin runners on a friend room, but there's only 30 seconds counting down for you. Balloon battle in a friend room will never end, you will always be tied, and the timer will always be 0. When the clock reaches 0 on battle mode offline, the game will freeze. The following issues with battle mode are for custom tracks. Tracks on the Daisy Circuit, DS Desert Hills slot do not work offline on battle mode. Enemy routes are not working properly on offline battle mode, but they can still harm you.

Custom Menu System	Chadderz	This distribution makes use of custom menus to load custom course slots. The cup selection menu is modified with two buttons featuring arrows to the left and right of the main cups. When selected, these buttons cause the current on-screen cup buttons to be replaced with other cups, including custom cups, creating a scrolling menu system. All custom tracks are stored inside custom cups.
Custom Tracks Worldwide	XeR	This distribution is capable of searching for random players to play custom tracks with. When running the pack, simply press the Regional/Continental button (which is renamed to Custom Tracks Worldwide) to search for custom track players. You can also join your friends who are playing CTWW, and they can join you. This feature is currently experimental, but seems to be working correctly. Credits to XeR for finding the required values to do this.
Random Track Selection	Chadderz	When in CTWW mode, picking random will allow the game to select a custom track based on a number provided by the game's RNG system. It can also be triggered by pressing + or Start (depending on your controller), and may be used offline to randomly select a track to play on.
Wi-Fi Timer	Chadderz	The countdown timer on the Wi-Fi voting screen is always shown now, rather than just when you're about to run out of time. This can give you a better idea of how long you have to make a decision when voting. The time allocated is 30 seconds.
Wi-Fi Time Limit Expansion	Chadderz	This distribution makes a modification to the race time limit on Wi-Fi. It has been expanded from 5 minutes to 5:40, allowing longer tracks to be entered and played through to completion. The game has another hard limit of 5:56 before it disconnects everyone, so it is impractical to increase the time beyond 5:40, as the time advances even when looking at leaderboards. If 5:40 is reached, the pack forces you past the leaderboards quickly to avoid disconnection.
Ghost Blocking	mdmwii	The game will not save ghosts at all in order to try to prevent save data corruption and accidental overwriting of ghosts. Personal leaderboards are also not updated. This feature is only temporary as future releases will support ghost data saving in a much more secure way.
Draggable Blue Shells	MrBean35000vr	Blue Shells can now be held behind you like Red and Green Shells. They will explode on contact, but not hurt the player. They can be used to protect against other items being shot from behind, but if wheelie-bumped while holding a blue shell behind you it will fall away and disappear. Only one Blue Shell can exist at once, so even when it is held out behind you it will be impossible for anyone else to get one from an item box.
Speedometer	Chadderz	Located in the lower right hand corner of the screen. This only works in single player modes. Units is KM/H (kilometers per hour).
Max Lap Count Modifier	Geeh and MrEvil	A track can have between 1 and 8 laps.
Speed Modifier!	MrBean35000vr	Tracks have a speed modifier applied (e.g. 2× speed) which causes all parts of the game's physics to move at the increased speed (including vehicles, items and boosts).
Wiimmfi	Wiimm and Leseratte	Support to play on a custom MKW server has been added as a replacement to Nintendo WFC. For more details see Wiimmfi Project.
Minimap Colors	Wine, AC, and Pepo 2000	Minimaps can now have colors. This affects every track in the pack.
Countdown Mode	MrBean35000vr	Countdown Mode has been added as a replacement for battles in single player online play.
Save To SD Card	Huili	Time Trials If the idea of playing online does not interest you, Huili has made it possible to have another save to SD card option if you want to have the Best Known Time (BKT) or World Record (WR) of any track in this distribution. CTGP This option will allow you to have your ctgp save file in case you're not comfortable with the other options Huili has given you.
