Paratroopa was among the first (if not the first) custom rigged characters made (characters before this were unanimated addons to the bike model). The creation of Paratroopa was attaching the wing model from the blue shell onto the wing bones onto Dry Bones, as editing the model of Koopa Troopa would be impossible as the animated eye textures using the PAT0 format would be corrupted, Dry Bones did not have this problem as he has no eye animations.

Overview

Koopa Paratroopa (Often shortened to just Paratroopa) is a red Koopa Troopa with wings. Paratroopa made an appearance in Mario Kart Double Dash!!.

Paratroopa's model was created by adding the wings from the Blue Shell item and putting them on Koopa Troopa's back. Koopa Troopa already had bones for wings but nothing was attached to them previously.
