Kamek is a powerful Magikoopa and adviser to Bowser from the Mario franchise, first appearing in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. In the Mario Kart franchise, his first appearance as a playable character is in the Kamek Tour from Mario Kart Tour. He later reappeared in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Currently, there are three versions available:

- Kamek (UltraWario): based on the original version

Trivia
Kamek was originally going to be a playable character in Mario Kart 64, but he was replaced by Donkey Kong in the final version. In addition, his emblem was found in the files of the Wii U version of Mario Kart 8.
